Vermont Town To Vote On Arresting Bush, Cheney

Rutland Herald:

Brattleboro residents will vote at town meeting on whether President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney should be indicted and arrested for war crimes, perjury or obstruction of justice if they ever step foot in Vermont.

The Brattleboro Select Board voted 3-2 Friday to put the controversial item on the Town Meeting Day warning.

Sent the following to my representative.

The American People have a right to a government that is honest and peaceful.

I am asking the House Judiciary Committee to begin hearings on H. Res. 799: Impeaching Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United States, of high crimes and misdemeanors.

It is a well known fact the Office of Special Plans (OSP) was setup to discredit intelligence produced by the Near East and South Asia (NESA) directorate of the Pentagon leading up to the invasion of Iraq.

As the executive branch continues to expand its powers under the "unitary executive theory", isn't it time that Vice President Cheney be held accountable for his actions under the law?

Not that Bush or Cheney has spent a great deal of time in Vermont, and I am also guessing that the Vermont Police Forces would have a hard time convincing the Secret Service to hand over the President or VP.

But it is a noble idea. All real politics is local,... and the local groups are where real change is going to have to happen.
