Bush State Of The Union Autosummarized By Microsof

So in preparing for the President's State Of The Union address, the
team over at HuffPost discovered a great little feature in Microsoft
Word called "AutoSummarize" that automatically identifies the key
points in a document and highlights them for easy reading. Below,
President George W. Bush's final State Of The Union address in under
100 words:

"The Congress can help even more. America honors the strength and
resilience of the people of this region [the Gulf Coast]. In
Afghanistan, America, our 25 NATO allies, and 15 partner nations are
helping the Afghan people defend their freedom and rebuild their
country. We launched a surge of American forces into Iraq. A free Iraq
will deny al Qaida a safe haven. America is leading the fight against
global hunger. America is leading the fight against disease. Our
military families also sacrifice for America. Our military families
serve our Nation, they inspire our Nation, and tonight our Nation
honors them."

I wish the television personalities would vow to read something like this and make no other comments following bush's "speeches". American politics as it is today would be so much easier to stomach. And for the record, it's kind of lame to give any credit to microsoft for anything. It's kind of like bragging that you just got a bargain at walmart.

There is a summarization service that's been a native feature in Apple's MacOSX since it came out in 2001.

Has anyone commented on Bush's refusal to shake hands with Barack Obama after the speech? (Play back the tape of Bush's exit from the hall if you didn't notice this.)

Microsoft Word wrote a much better speech than did Bush's speechwriters. And probably worked cheaper, too. Oursource the speechwriters!

Actually, Bush's State of The Union speech can be summarized in 3 words:

America is Fucked!
