Early Polls Show Rough Super Tuesday For Obama

Barack Obama's overwhelming weekend victory in South Carolina's Democratic primary gives him new momentum in the run-up to the near-national nominating contest a week from tomorrow, known as Super Tuesday.

But Mr. Obama heads into the 22-state showdown as the underdog. The Illinois senator trails Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York by large margins in polls in most of the big states voting Feb. 5. And he lacks the time or resources to campaign intensively in many of those far-flung races to close the gaps.

I promise to end the war in Iraq in 16 mos. I promise to turn the economy around. I promise to not be a politician. I promise to balance the budget and correct all the woes of the previous administration. I promise to use Ted Kennedy's Health plan so he gets the credit for this and then will back me as a supporter. I promise not to vote for any more war funding even though I have voted for all of it (kind of have to), but I am different because before I was a senator it was easy -- like the rest of you that weren't Senators either -- to say I was against it; but I didn't have committees promising to pull all funding out of my district if I voted against the war... I am not a politician -- I won't give you any specifics but dang will I make you feel good when I tell you how wonderful I will be. It is very EASY if you listen to what i am telling you... There, I made you all feel really good. NOW CAN I BE PRESIDENT TOO!

The fact, the media and the Republicans are giving Obama a free ride -- no critism whatsoever -- hmmmm - sounds like the guy they want to run against -- and I guarantee you, if he does become the candidate there will be an onslaught of negative facts brought to our tv screens and editorial pages.

And you'll all be doing the Scooby-Doo: "Hugh?"

Anything in the Wall Street Journal addressing a Democrat or Democratic issues is not to be believed. You'll get more truth by reading the National Inquirer.

Good. Hopefully he gets trounced next week and HuffPo can stop being all-Obama all the time. Yeah his campaign is inspiring and all that, but four months of campaigning on "Kum Ba Yah" gets a little old, y'know?

Please do not tell me about polls. The makers never tell us how many people they polled. Where do these people live. How many are Democrats? They have become propaganda spots for some of the leaders. They are discouraging to voters. Why vote? The polls have decided. I really don't like election night polling either. If someone is so far ahead, why vote? Some people wonder why there is such low voter turn out. It looks like a lot of people do a lot to discourage the voter.

Anything can happen between now and next week. Bill's been awfully quiet lately but that cann't last. Cokey Roberts said on Sunday, "Nobody can control Bill." I predict Bill will do some dumb ass outrageous thing soon that'll alianate the Latinos: like getting cought with a thirteen year old Latina.

I am so sick of the pundints and their polls. Why can't they just give us the facts, and let us decide.
I was so disgusted over the weekend with the MSNBC coverage (Mika and Joe). I turned off MSNBC and have NOT tuned in since. I agree with Craig Crawford, they have annointed the winners, Senators Obama and McCain. The networks, ALL of them are in the tank for these two candidates. Why do we even need primaries, when these disgusting people could decide it all? The worst are Russert, Shuster, Screaming Joe. Big Mouth Mika and Barnicle.
I am MOST disappointed in Barnicle, I always did respect his views.

Barack needs to focus on getting more female and Latino votes and not concern himself with getting the white male vote, it's not going to happen. White men are overwhelmingly republican and you can't blame them, since the republican party only caters to one constituency, white men. If he can get enough women of all races and Latinos to back him, the white male vote will be irrelevant. The good ol' boys have put yokes around our necks long enough, it's time to marginalize them like they've marginalized so many others.

I'm in it with JOHN EDWARDS for the long term.

He's the only candidate who CLEARLY ARTIUCLATES his position to fight for the middle class and less fortunate, and to BAN LOBBYISTS from Writing Policy in his Administration.

He's also the only Candidate who went with PUBLIC FINANCING - No Payback to the Powerful Special Interestss as the other two.

The choice is simple, as I as part of the
largest forgotton group in this country - the Middle Class.

Barak has a tough fight ahead of him. His recent endorsements aren't going to help much at all. But he is making a serious mistake by supporting drivers licenses for illegals. Who knows what the 5th will bring.

While you were all dozing and dreaming, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., was having sleepless nights over the bloody mayhem in his fatherland Kenya.
His Lou people are fleeing.

How droll that the really long term Washington insider, Teddy Kennedy, supports the guy who says he's fighting insiders while the younger Kennedys are outsiders and are supporting Hillary.

"As a woman, leader, and person of deep convictions, I believe Hillary Clinton would make the best possible choice for president. She shares so many of the concerns of my father. Hillary has spent a lifetime speaking out on behalf of the powerless and working to alleviate poverty, in our country and around the world¦ At this moment when so much is at stake at home and overseas, I urge our fellow Americans to support Hillary Clinton. That is why my brother Bobby, my sister Kerry, and I are supporting Hillary Clinton."

If Obama loses this race because of the Latino vote I will personally volunteer to round up the 12 million illegals we have running around this country that are by the way living off the sweat and tears of the civil rights movement.

Ok they said this about the other races. No if he beats her in ever state they still would be saying the same thing. They need to keep this thing going.

The one person that could give Obama a fast boost would be Al Gore. Given Obama's refusal to take lobby money, the opportunity for Gore to gain momentum on the environment would be to be as a change makerin this election. Given his long association with the Clinton's, it would probably (I'm guessing) be difficult for him to do so. However, one of the most important agenda's of our time, which ultimately drives our energy direction, is the environment. Many of our conflicted political decisons and even Al Quada's evil ambitions can be tied to oil. So Al Gore could influence the rate of change in world ecology. Ask yourself will Hillary Clinton put the force of the Presidency behind changing energy direction with the same zeal as a Gore backed
Barack Obama? We need leaders who recognize that goverment/corporation oligarchies and related special interests need to face the will of the American people, and the world for that matter, that whether it's Iraq or Darfur, the ugly role of oil interests has led to and supported bad actions and inaction. Can we change energy direction at a faster rate than we are doing? Yes we can. But it needs the synergy of leaders and politicians who are unfettered by special interests, and who create coalitions for change that recognise that the only rode to change is to start. Al Gore could jump start the opportunity.
