Sandra Oh's dress is a modern take on a hanbok (korean traditional dress) --- if you knew that, gentle commenter then you'd realize why that asymetrical bow is on the dress.

I see meanness is alive and well on HuffPo.
Or, is it jealousy? No, I think it is just plain meanness. Hey, it's the American way!

January Jones was the worst. Not only did she have a train stapled to her hind end, but then they added that huge rain gutter in the front of her bustline. Awful.

Sandra Oh's dress was clearly meant to be reminiscent of traditional Korean formalwear. As she's, you know, KOREAN and all.

Do these actors really care what the public thinks?? As for the red carpet I think it's just another way for sylists to make money. Twenty years ago who every heard of them??? No one and that's the point. After the studio's quit dressing these folks, they dressed themselves. Sylists got into the act and have made more then a nice living getting these folks dressed for events. I think if a few more said enough is enough, where would these people be other then a movie set??? That's right, out in the cold.

I actually really adore that yellow dress. Remember Michelle Williams in that gorgeous canary-colored Vera Wang at the Oscars a few years ago? With red lips, it was a knock-out. Same with this dress. The ruffles are totally subtle.
