The Hill:

All eyes were on Democratic presidential frontrunners Sens. Barack Obama (Ill.) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) Monday night as spectators and pundits followed their every move during President Bush's final State of the Union address.

Clinton set observers atwitter when she waded through the crowd before the speech to shake hands with Democratic dean and senior Sen. Edward Kennedy (Mass.), who made headlines Monday by endorsing Obama in the primary.

For the second year in a row, Obama sat next to Kennedy for the president's annual address. Yet despite this, Clinton managed to miss Obama's attention as she chatted with Kennedy while reporters looked on hungrily from the overhanging balcony.

The race between Obama and Clinton has become colored with growing animosity in recent weeks as each side has leveled veiled accusations that the other has used race as a political weapon.

Check out the article “White Voters with a Side of Hispanics” on the blogzine Savage Politics. Awesome discussion/analysis on the current Democrat and GOP candidates and their eligibility.

www.savagepolitics.com

Here is an excerpt: “Florida Primary was a very important episode in the drama in which both the Republican and Democrat Parties are unfolding towards the Presidency of the United States. It also dramatically demonstrated the incredible bias that the Media continues to display towards the Democratic hopeful Barack Obama, in spite of all the evidence pointing to his lack of viability. From MSNBC’s Chris Mathews, who openly stated the day before that any Network that decided to report on the Democratic voting results in Florida was proving a “gross” favoritism for Hillary (ironically enough his Network ended up having to cover it nevertheless), to CNN’s pundits, who continuously utilized the exact same rhetoric that the Obama Campaign was spewing to excuse their defeat (”Beauty Pageant” was their favorite phrase, with all the sexist connotations it implies). All the same, the Florida results in the Democratic side were overwhelmingly favorable to Hillary Clinton, who won a 50% margin, to Obama’s 33%, Edwards’ 14%, and Gravel’s 1%. On the Republican side, it was John McCain who came out victorious with a 36% margin, to Romney’s 31%, Giuliani’s 15%, Huckabee’s 14%, and Paul’s 3%. Let’s discuss each Party’s results and their realistic consequence.
First, we have the very significant victory of John McCain. His candidacy was, from the very start, labeled as a failure due to his unpopularity amongst most “base” Republicans, much of it owed to McCain’s overwhelmingly dubious record on Conservative issues. His notorious tendency to side with multiple (highly despised) Democrats on issues like Immigration, Bush’s Tax Cuts and other measures, have always been enough to marginalize him from even the “moderate wing” within his Party. Still, when the Florida Exit Polls are analyzed, they reflect many unexpected re-alignments in his favor. Evangelical/Born Again Christians voted for John McCain in a 30% margin, in comparison to…” rest of the article at http://savagepolitics.com/?p=64

oh god. i just saw hillary on hannity and colmes and now she's playing up this story that she reached out for obama's hand and was "the woman scorned". i knew she'd victimize herself again and play the sympathy card whenever the opportunity arose.

this is first i've heard of her saying she reached out for him. anybody else?

It makes him more honest than her. I doubt she liked it that Kennedy endorsed Obama and would have rather given him dagger eyes. But, the chance for the photo-op was too good for her to pass up, even if she sticks pins in a Tedd vodoo doll. I am like Obama. I can't put on a fake smile and act like I'm your best friend if I am not. I'm like ice. If I don't like you, you got problems. It may not make me popular, but at least I am honest. Take in that fake, exaggerated smile on her face. Oops, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

What is the big deal. I don't shake hands with liars and crooks either. She only did this for the photo op. Who in thier right mind would believe her when she said I put out my hand in peace and friendship.

All I heard was, "You my bee-atch!"
Don't know which one said it, though.

Obama is so full of it in BSing the media that he was turning his back on Hillary to talk to McCaskill; NOBODY is buying into THAT B.S.

This photo speaks VOLUMES to ALL the women; even the cheerleaders at HuffPost. In gentile society a true gentleman NEVER turns his back on a woman when she holds out her hand. Ted Kennedy understood this, but in Obama being a little boy, it fell right past him.

And where is the splashy HuffPost story about Jessie Jackson stating that he wasn't offended by what Bill Clinton said and that he didn't feel he said anything wrong??? I'm quite sure the cheerleaders at HuffPost are quite embarrassed in their bogus furthering in playing the race-baiting card. I defended Bill Clinton stating that he did nothing wrong in his comments about Jackson in regard to S. Carolina and Obama's victory, and you had a-hole Obamabots attacking me left and right; one nit-wit accused ME of race-baiting because I defended Clinton; unreal. So now that Jackson has burst the false and misleading race-baiting stemming from the Obama camp, I hope all the phony Obama cheerleaders eat sh*t and die! LMAO!!!

Edwards '08!

This story just supports my theory that the press has evolved into American Idol reporters.

Good grief.

They should feel shame while writing about this tripe.

I posted this on another thread - sorry for the repeat, but the story was repeated on huffpo.

The complete, uncropped photo is in the link below. Obama was clearly talking to Senator McCaskill of Missouri who has endorsed Obama.

He snubbed her alright and it was intentional. You can tell how mean spirited he is just by looking at his face. I don't care how eloquent his speeches are, any Democrat who invokes the name of Reagan isn't going to get my vote. Period!!!

The vigorous attempts of Obama's supporters to excuse his behavior stands as the perfect testament to the observation that ‘It is the art of self-deception that we practice the greatest invention.’

This picture shows three people clapping and not shaking Hillary's hand. Why aren't the other two accused of snubbing her? This picture doesn't show if Hillary extended her hand to Obama or not. Another attempt to fuel the fray.

Huppost headlines are getting ridiculously misleading, just like the tabloid cover stories to get idiots to buy the paper.

Barack Obama is showing his true color in snubbing Hillary Clinton as she reaches out to shake Ted Kennedy's hand. He could have taken a high road, since he just won SC and received several endorsements, and extended his hand for a cordial gesture to acknowledge Clinton. Obama Supporters, enough trying to make excuses for Obama. Someone commented that HuPo should have noted that Obama was about to shake the hand of another Senator to his left. You know it BS because he is clapping.

Obama is so full of himself. Snobbery is not to be mistaken for confidence. He should have known better. He is the one calling for Change, Hope and New Politics, and then he behaves like a simpleton.
