The U.S. military isn't ready for a catastrophic attack on the country, and National Guard forces don't have the equipment or training they need for the job, according to a report.

Even fewer Army National Guard units are combat-ready today than were nearly a year ago when the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves determined that 88 percent of the units were not prepared for the fight, the panel says in a new report released Thursday.

Yeah, but 'defense' guy has a nice house...and he's probably the one talking about 'the next attack'. It's an industry. Checks and balances.
Go get em, Congress! Leave no stone unturned.
And, go ahead and start drawing up impeachment papers on all the candidates NOW...biggest lesson we learn is that we don't learn.

There are only two forces capable of wiping out the USA:

1. nuclear weapons
2. republicans

I fear republicans more than I fear nukes.

Time to increase defence budget.

Simple...

Just tack "the National Service Act of 2007" onto some spending bill (see http://thomas.loc.gov) and presto!

Every man OR woman age 18 to FORTY-TWO will be subject to compulsory "national service" (read: draft) at the pleasure of the Ki.. the President.

All the foot-soldiers you could want.

Hup.. twop.. treep.. four..

"US Military May Not Be Ready for Attack"

Well duh! Is this supposed to be a joke?

Big surprise. They are going after them over there so they won't have to fight them over here. This administration has sadly flushed the military down the toilet. For oil. Oh yea, we are prepared for anything in this country. Another Katrina? Earthquakes in California? Please. They trashed the country and they have not given a damn. It will be up to Democrats to even begin to fix these issues. Democrats are our only hope folks.

"The U.S. military isn't ready for a catastrophic attack on the country . . . . . "

Well duh! Considering a full-blown occupation in Iraq and the support people and equipments are scattered all over the Middle East. Add to that the old war-on-terror in Afghanistan and the brewing wars in Iran and now Pakistan covered by extensive ground, air, and naval assets in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Seas.

So the effects of continuous warfare are becoming apparent? Our valiant volunteer military is suffering from "troop abuse." And unnecessary continuous warfare weakens our very country.

When did this become a shock to anyone? It is well known the borders are not secure. The ports are not secure. Planes cargo is not secure. Ships cargo is not secure. I could go on and on about the nuke facilities, water facilities but I think you get the point. Bin Laden had cells in the country before and why would he not now?

I remember when the Republicans ran in 2000, they said Bill Clinton destroyed the military.

Now that a Republican president actually destroyed the military, the Democrats say nothing.
