Update: Here's O'Reilly's response to the protests by homeless veterans outside the Fox News studio. In the video, O'Reilly mocks homeless veterans for not watching Fox News.

Brave New Films

See O'Reilly's original quote about homeless vets here.

As many of our readers no doubt predicted, the impenetrable bubble that the Fox News Channel erects to protect fancy millionaire blowhard Bill O'Reilly from the fundamental truths of the universe - such as, "Yes, Bill, there are such things as homeless veterans," and "No, Bill, no women, even desperate ones, are interested in your creepy advances" - remained as impermeable as ever this afternoon, as a group of homeless veterans who sought to prove that they are, in fact, real, were turned away by Fox News brass, and barred from delivering their request for a formal apology. In a press release, the people at Brave New Films relate:

An impromptu news conference was held in front of the FOX News Channel Studios today because veterans were denied entrance as they attempted to deliver a petition to Bill O'Reilly asking him to apologize for his comments denying the existence and importance of homeless veterans. The ensuing drama resulted in FOX News executives, flanked by security and police officials, attempting to mollify the group of veterans and Executive Director Carol Gardener of Fitzgerald House - a group that assists veterans in need - by speaking briefly to the group. In addition, one of the producers of the O'Reilly Factor, Jesse Watters, challenged the vets by deflecting the comments away from O'Reilly's statements.

Cameras were on hand to capture the goings on:

And the whole incident was reported on at length by Keith Olbermann at MSNBC.

It is presumed that Mr. O'Reilly, whose right to speak freely was won at the expense of many people's lives, slept quite comfortably tonight.

Fuck FOX and O'Reilly, and may they all go to hell. They are the furthest thing from credible, to say you take them seriously is like taking Bugs Bunny seriously. O'Reilly could die and the world would be a better place. The shit that spews out of his pie hole looks like that coming out of an elephants ass, large disgusting piles of worthless shit.

The Cable News phenomenon has brought indignity to national television news.

The Republican's have assembled quite a team of demagogue's to act as their spokespersons: Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Ingraham, and the infamous Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly at one time tried to pass himself off as an independent but he long ago gave up that ruse. He is now an unabashed defender of everything Republican, and is their attack dog on the Democrats, like Edwards who dared bring up that we have a homeless veteran's problem in this country. This of course is another problem the VA has tried to sweep under the rug like the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed hospital. The hypocrisy of the Republican's know no bounds. They profess to support the troops but then cast them aside when they are no longer useful to them. They don't hesitate to slime genuine war hero's like McCain if they dare stray from the Republican party line. They can't stand nuanced views like McCains on the subject of illegal immigration. O'Reilly is really p--sed off because no Democratic candidate will appear on his show and let O'Reilly dump on them. The fact that O'Reilly has so many viewers tells us that there are still a lot of dimbulbs in the U.S. who want simple answers to complex questions. O'Reilly serves that purpose by giving them a distorted view of reality every evening on this show.

Why does FOX News love the war and hate the Vets?
They never stand up for the vets when their benefits are being cut and they never support efforts to help vets. It demonstrates FOX's corporate elitist, war for profit agenda.

Typical of the neocons (definately not republican). After you have done what I want you are null and void. Bush and the rest of these neocons have left the vets coming home in a bad situation and refuse to do anything about it. Imus had to get private fundraisers to build a clinic for the vets, the Bush administration , Haliburton ... refused to give any money. These morons that supported the war screaming about how others don't support the troops are the same ones that don't give a crap about the troops when they get home.

O'Reilly tells me a lot about the mentality on the right! Most of them are nasty mean-spirited people just like he is otherwise they would be completely turned off by his venom! These type of people are like a cancer that is eating away at the moral fabric of our society! It's no longer important that our national leaders tell us the truth. It's no longer important that they are honest above-board people who have a few principles a little character. The more corrupt they are the happier the pundits and 'right wing nut's' are. They equate corruption with strength. That's what people like Bill O'Reilly have done for this country! They are catering to the sickness that is growing in our society.

He makes his money riling people up; that's why his name is O'Reilly. I love it when he shifts from that phony posture of the voice of reason to a rabid dog. You have to wonder why people never question the juxtaposition of those two stances, no?

If there is a life after this one, his vileness, O'LIEly will be a a crawler at the bottom of an open sewer or a septic tank in a third world country.

WHO is that hottie in the blue down jacket (the jacket was above the knee length i think) He had a hat on and he was hanging with the film guy and photographing the event. Dark hair- longish but not too long. He's in the backround. I would love to meet him for some hot, homeless, under-a-bridge hijinks some time, or maybe he's into LOOFAHS !

How imbecilic can O'Reilly be? (No need to answer!) He sends out a war hawk producer, who never served, to ask homeless veterans if they had actually heard O'Reilly's words. None had. I have news for Bill and his producer, homeless people do not have televisions and do not have cable packages. (In fact, not being able to listen to O'Reilly's self-serving, long winded rants may be the only benefit of being homeless.)

Then the bastard O'Reilly tries to spin his way out of it. He says that he always said they were there, but only because they were drug dependent or mentally ill. Again, did it ever occur to this meglomaniac that their addiction or mental instabilities may be directly linked to what they saw as veterans?

Now he denies there are many homeless living under a bridge in New Orleans. Soon he will deny he said it and spin his way out of these uncaring, blase remarks. O'Reilly cares not a whit for the downtrodden among us. His business is to create alternative realities and in this one, America has no homeless problem among vets. I guess we are now supposed to go out and close our eyes to what we see in our cities daily, as O'Reilly does.

I wonder what remark it would take to finally get O'Reilly booted off the air? I thought it may be his remarks about the boy who escaped his abduction by a pedophile and O'Reilly said the boy enjoyed his confinement because he did not have to attend school. Then I thought it would be his remarks about the patrons of Sylvia's restaurant in Harlem. I guess expectations for a bigoted, homophobe are low.

One thing we know for sure. After eight long years of a Bush administration, O'Reilly has to deny more stories than he covers. He denies the violence in Iraq, he denies a homeless problems problem among vets, he denies poverty in America. I never knew the role of a so-called pundit was to not uncover problems, but to deny them.
