Maria Shriver Behind Scenese

LA Times:

California First Lady Maria Shriver delivered a surprise endorsement of Barack Obama on Sunday, overcoming qualms about going public because, she said, the Illinois senator was the presidential candidate able to unify the country across racial, ethnic and other lines of division.

"He's not about himself," she told a cheering crowd at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. "He's about the power of us and what we can do if we come together. . . . He is about empowering women, African Americans, Latinos, older people, young people. He's about empowering all of us."

The only thing I want to know is why is everything Hillary or Bill say is evil. But every time Michelle or Barrack say something we misunderstood them. BTW I would have voted for Edwards Or Kucinich but since the National Party said our vote was worthless to chose a candidate because a republican legislature passed an early primary date, I wonder how many votes may stay home in November. I won't I'll support the person that wins the nomination. I won't have to think about it.

This is a very difficult choice tomorrow. Hilary's stand (past and Present) is dreadful. However, the Crown family that owns General Dynamics (an arms manufacturer) are ardent supporters of Obama. If Obama is so pure why has he continued to vote to fund this war? Seems like a contradiction to me. Truth be known we will be slightly better off under a Democrat but the Imperial war-mongering over-extended US Empire is not going away any time soon (but perhaps in 20 or 30 years or so).

If they all thought that Obama was so great why was he their second choice.

Here's the thing - Who is Maria Shriver? Of course, I know who she is. And I am sure she is a nice woman and all. But, when was the last time you ever read about a Governor's wife, husband or boyfriend-girlfriend endorsing a candidate of any office plastered across the nation's papers like it meant anything at all? It is on HuffPO because this is the Obama Post. But, is it because she is related to a Kennedy? I mean come on. How far is this Kennedy stuff going to go? I admire the Kennedys- but, are we going to poll the whole damn family? How about the cousins and nieces and nephews? Everyone talks about how the Kennedys support Obama. Do they really? Robert Kennedy Jr. doesn't. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend doesn't...but, who cares? Maybe we should once and for all determine what the entire Kennedy family really thinks. Let's go Zogby- track em down. By the way, for that matter, Zogby, let's make it a little easier. Please poll the wives and husbands of the rest of the country's Governor spouses to see where they really stand. I mean c'mon Maria's endorsement is a national story?

Whatever, I found this funny;

"Every single person can come to you and tell you, 'You should vote for this person' or 'You should vote for that person.' `It's not right to speak up. It's not right to speak out,' " Shriver said, her voice echoing through the arena".

And then she did it anyway! Interesting, I'm just saying hum?

I happened to catch this on C-span and I thought she was great.
Even without make up(she talked about not having make up on)she looked great.
But one question, why was Oprah trying to pet her like a dog? At the end Oprah was petting her hair for a long time.

How dare anyone insult Maria Shriver; she is a truly independent first lady of California-- and she is true to herself- that's what happens in a healthy marriage like Maria's and Arnold's -- she is a brilliant journalist, writer, author, devoted daughter, wife, mother, leader of one of the greatest States in our country.. Doesn't anyone edit some of these mean-spirited comments on this Post?

In an interview on Monday, Michelle Obama was asked if she would support Sen. Hillary Clinton if she won the Democratic nomination.

"I have to think about that," she said on ABC's Good Morning America. "I'd have to think about her policies, her approach, her tone."

so, basically she has not considered her husbands opponents stance on anything and can denounce her in speech as not being qualified.. that doesn't make sense to me.. So the Clintons have stated they would back Obama if he wins the nominee, and neither the Baracks have said the same. Anyone see how this is not conducive to being a "uniter"..

wow, interesting choice. Do we want washington to run washington, or hollywood to run washington.. I'm torn.. washington produces blood and lost lives. hollywood produces, porn, and bloody lost lives in movies, tragic untimely deaths and a false sense of realty. hmmm. I'll take hollywood. hahah

I'm surprised and impressed with Maria's independent streak- she has guts. I'm sorta blown away...

And the "Illusion: continues. Another Obama rally on a college campus pep rally style. Make it look like the college students are driving distance to come see him. Then he says, I can get the youth vote.

With all his media coverage, popular and political support, and rock star popularity, why is he not WAY ahead of Mrs. Clinton in the polls? Who actually prefers her? I have perhaps 3 friends who prefer her over Obama--or should I say, prefer her gender over Obama's.
