When they were discussing this possibility in Boston, I couldn't understand what the problem was. Here in MA the polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm - the parade is what - 2 hours? Why can't people do both? They are probably calling in sick at work or school to go to the parade anyway - they should have more time to vote, not less.
Oh well, I'm not a sports fan, so maybe I just don't get it.

You must be kidding! The parade is on till noon. Most voters can figure out how to schedule their day to include voting. Hundreds of Thousands of people viewing the parade? Lets not get crazy.If the Pope was on a Sleigh being drawn by the Spice Girls, there would not be that many people out to see it. I work in downtown Manhattan, its not such a big deal, generally more of a mess. Oh its called ticker-tape parade (After the devises that were used on Wall Street), not ticket tape parade, so where are you from dude? And you make New Yorkers sound like idiots?.

Anyway, this thread is stupid because it implies that NYC is more pro-Clinton than the state at large, when the opposite is the case. It could read "Super Bowl Victory May Hurt Obama" and make just as much sense, probably more.

I feel that every one should read the NY Times blog entry by Stanley Fish "All you need is Hate" and reflect on how it portrays Hillary Clinton.
I am truly appalled at the direction this country has taken! You'd think that the dispicable behavior of this present administration would make Americans actually listen without judgement to the candidates and decide that way on which to vote.

Hard to remember when Kerry was right about anything.

I for one as another black, have no problem with her now, but my problem is when she shades the truth, always on both sides of an issue. Just tell the truth!

If people would rather go to a parade than vote or miss voting because the parade was more important, I think this country has more problems than I thought. Vote and watch the fucking parade on TV.
