Giants' Super Bowl Victory May Hurt Hillary On Election Day

On occasion, the world of politics and sports do collide -- but never with the flair they will on Tuesday, when the presidential primary and the Giant's Super Bowl party will compete for attention on the streets of Manhattan.

The ticket-tape parade for New York will likely draw hundreds of thousand of fans and onlookers. And because several members of the Giants are slated to head to Hawaii soon thereafter for the Pro Bowl, there is no way to delay the proceedings.

How it will affect the election - if at all - is impossible to say. Does the male beer-drinking, football watching demographic support their hometown senator, Hillary Clinton, or the Chicago Bears-loving Barack Obama? Are people capable of voting and attending a parade on the same day? Will this produce the worst gridlock ever?

The questions may seem entirely too trivial. But they were of enough importance that officials in Boston - predictably confident of a Patriots win - were already planning parade routes that would skirt polling places.

"The really good news is that New York voters don't have this problem because there is no chance of a Giants victory parade," said Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, an Obama supporter, earlier this week. "I just hope this can be worked out, because Senator Obama being elected president is an historic first, while the Patriots Super Bowl victory parade is an annual event."

Sorry Senator. Maybe next year.

It is a known fact that New Yorkers can't revel in a Giant victory and vote Democratic at the same time. Sad but true!

finally!!! thank you, gregjones. i've been going to countless news/info sites trying to see just how informed people are about those 35 years of experience hillary clinton professes. first, that number magically begins right after she spent her college years campaigning for republican presidential candidate barry goldwater (a staunch segregationist). she did not switch parties until it was politically viable (her husband's pursuit of office), and her supporters of ALL colors should at least take note about a clear rewriting of their candidate's past. not to mention what seems to be a political trade-off by her campaign: let's take the immediate loss in black supporters for the latino supporters -- figuring the blacks will come back to her in november when faced with the republican alternative. i'd be offended by any campaign that would suggest thati would not vote for a black candidate because i'm latino. that implies that i'm racist, so my vote should be counted as such. that's appalling.

What a joke.

A football game hurting Hillary? Jesus christ man, get over yourself.

Why won't HuffPo finally just support Obama and admit this place is as biased as FNC?

Blacks Learning 'Goldwater Girl' Hillary Was AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964....Feel Deceived !

An article by Washington columnist Robert Novak (Google: 'Hillary, King, Goldwater) reveals that Hillary Clinton was a staunch supporter of Sen. Barry Goldwater (who was adamently against the civil rights act and a segregationist) during the same period she claims in all black church appearances that she was for the civil rights movement. Blacks feel that it was impossible for Hillary to have been a Goldwater Girl and pro civil rights at the same time which leads to the assumption that Ms. Clinton is re-inventing her past. Many blacks feel deceived by The Clintons. Should Hillary Clinton make a public apology to blacks for lying in black churches ?
