I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Kirstie Alley

Now a promo pamphlet featuring actress Kirstie Alley from last September has surfaced. Two things come to mind right away: one, that cracks seem to be appearing the previously formidable Scientology wall of silence. The second, for now, is Kirstie Alley is a lot nuttier than previously thought.

Alley says in the brochure that getting into the top echelon of Scientology, called Flag, changed her whole viewpoint on people. Yes, people, Like us. Those kinds of people.

Prior to that, she says, "You know, I liked animals more than people! OK, I liked people -- certain people, but the idea of 'mankind' -- it really irritated me! ... Now I have definite affinity for mankind and I'm up taking genuine responsibility for mankind."

Alley, whose career has been mostly a muddle since Cheers went off the air in the 1990s, is described in the piece as a "Solo NOTS Auditor, Diamond Meritorious of the IAS and a founding member of the Super Expansion Project."

What does all that mean?

Well, Solo Nots Auditor is a high level Scientologist who spends several hours a day, according to their glossary, exorcising "body thetans" or aliens who are stuck to their bodies. Diamond Meritorious is more interesting. This means Alley has donated a staggering $5 million to the International Association of Scientology.

Amuses the hell outta me. The same verses are droned endlessly. You would think some smart guy had understood mankind's spectrum of feeling. And then designed a system to stimulated droning. Amuses the hell outta me. No offense intended, nothing personal, enjoy your droning.

Plenty of people throw their money away on religion. Some churches require that members give them a percent of their income. It's all bogus. Any real spiritual movement requires NO money.

So you make a shit load of money and the housing market sux. So does the stock market. Where do you find those nice little tax breaks your accountants have been harping on you to find? You invest er donate 5 million bucks into a non-taxable "church". I'm sure once you've rid yourself of all your body thetans the Org has ample rewards for you and yours.

It's a money laundering machine. Pure and simple. No other reason for these people to (literally) buy in to all the Scientology bull-shit.

Kirstey could feed a lot of hungry African kids. One leg would do a village.

The one thing that I hate is hysteria as in
mass hysteria as in urban myths as in hysteria.
This is when average people get led around
by their noses and believe things that aren't
true. Way back when Alley was a heart breaker
I knew that she was into everything and was
completely off the wall and wouldn't touch her
with your pole. Do you think she really
believes in Thetans? Nah, I don't think so. Scientology has some really good methods
for getting off drugs. I think that was it.

I'd rather hang out with Scientologists than the ranting haters that post on HP.

True losers in life, they are.

How sad that people go hungry, homeless and without medical care when there are people like Kirstie (?) Alley giving Scientology 5 million....

1) A lot of people spend a lot of money on things that I don't value.

2) Christians and members of other religions donate huge sums of money to their churches. Some leaders of Christian churches enjoy multiple expensive homes, limousines and yachts, which makes it seem that they have a profit motive as well.

3) I find the tenents of major religions laughable. I don't see why Thetans clinging to our bodies is any different than the idea that we have an immortal soul that will be rewarded or punished when we die.

In short, if Kirstie Alley wants to spend millions on her religion, who am I to judge?

These people have way too much power. Why won't our government investigate them properly?
