I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Michel

This morning on Good Morning America:

ROBERTS: So what if Senator Clinton defeats her husband, becoming the first woman nominee. Could you see yourself working to support the first woman nomination?

OBAMA: I'd have to think about that. I'd have to think about that, her policies, her approach, her tone.

ROBERTS: That's not a given?

OBAMA: You know, everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is. I think that we're all working for the same thing. and, you know, I think our goal is to make sure that the person in the White House is going to take this country in a different direction. I happen to believe that Barack is the only person who can really do that.

It is disappointing that Michelle Obama would lower herself to the petty games exhibited in this clip. It is absolutely unbelievable to me that she can not be a big enough person to say that, in the event that her husband is not offered as the Dem candidate in the general election, she will still have to ruminate over voting for Senator Clinton. Between this and the "if you can't run your own house..." comment, it is evident that Mrs. Obama lacks class and decorum. It is in keeping with Barack's "she's likable enough" response.

You can give accolades to and respect your opponent yet be a fierce competitor, and you don't have to wait until you are at the point of currying favor in order to absorb votes from contenders who have departed from the race. Obviously, Obama likes Hillary enough to carbon copy most of her roadmaps and solutions to the nation's issues. But he wouldn't concede that either.

If Michelle and Obama think these thinly veiled jabs are stealthy, they are sadly mistaken. It is weak to task your wife with getting in jabs that you are afraid to throw yourself. Not very gallant or sportman-like. I don't think this attitude wears well, and it tarnishes my opinion of both of them. They need to realize that the Obamas are NOT above reproach, and they would be foolish to assume that the race is won. Michelle would be well advised to drop the bourgeois attitude. Afterall, you are vying for the votes of ALL Americans. Despite my misgivings with the Obamas' approach, I will vote for whichever Democratic candidate is competing in the general election because it will be for the greater good of the party. However, it is quite clear who is best qualified for this position.

The only person happy about all this is Karl Rove. The only way for Rove to advance his agenda of a permanent Republican majority is to split the Democratic Party...judging from these posts, he's just about done it.
He's a genius, we're all getting played.

Miss Michele can only dream she had half the brains of Hillary Clinton.
She should be careful of her comments because Miss Hillary will restrict her access to the VP mansion should she be so lucky to have her husband offered the job.

Strange--Obama was awfully glad about her connections , funding and party-building background when she raised dough and campaigned for him to get to the Senate in the first place

You people seem to forget that Michelle is only into politics because her husband asked for her support. She was not a political figure as the Clintons are. The Clinton's have made politics their life. Michelle did not. So lay off of her. For white women your problem with Black women is that you cannot stand us but you don't have a problem with our Black men as long as they have some money (basketball players, football players, etc.). If Tiger Woods was just some joe blow that little white nanny would not have given him the time of day. Black folks know how you all think. White men your problem is that you cannot stand to see a Black woman who is intelligent and can speak her mind. I guess you all think we should be relegated to raising your children, cooking and cleaning your homes. It is a new day in America...Get the hell over it.

I understand Michelle totally. It is okay for white woman Billary to say what she wants and be strong but it does not apply to Black women.

ok, totally superficial, I admit . . . but what's with her stiff flip do? the most disturbing prospect of an Obama-McCain race is the sight of Mrs. Obama and Mrs. McCain waging a parallel campaign for Least Attractive Coiffure.

The headline is misleading. She was NOT asked if she would "support" Hillary; she was asked if she would "work to support" Hillary.

Will Bill "work to support" Obama if he wins the nomination?

It's time for Obama to make the right choice: to choose patience over impudence; to choose humility over ambition. After eight years as vice president, he'll have complete and unequivocal support for his Presidential campaign. Because he'll have gained global experience and wisdom by the fistful. This is not 1960. The world is a subtle and dangerous place. We don't need another rookie with rousing rhetoric. We need wisdom and the experience to navigate the nuances - to hear the real questions being asked by and of this country, not just the contradictions within public comments. Clinton/Obama '08 mobilizes women and minorities. It mobilizes the establishment and the next generation. It unites the experience of the past with enthusiasm for the future. It is the only ticket that beats the Republicans.

I pulled my lever for the primary.

So it's over.

Now, I have to think about the next leg, November.

If nobody in the Democratic party steps up and stops this, I'll change parties.

All I can say is if Bill had made a comment like that you obama backers would be singing a different song. But of course you won't admit it. But I have heard so many of you use Republican talking points against Clinton that it makes me sick. Personally I will back support and work for whoever wins the nomination. I can't blame Obama for his followers. As far as the word Bitch (female Dog) I have seen that word used by so many bloggers here when referring to Hillary that I won't even try to count them.

I already commented yesterday on why I find many of this woman's remarks to be offensive, including her race baiting ("black people are going to wake up and get it" in terms of why they should vote for Obama - apparently, a very successful call to arms - racist? - you tell me? - imagine Bill Clinton giving a call to arms of the white people of America, "if you can't keep your own house in order, then why should you be trusted in the White House" - something like that - even worse - as a direct insult to Hillary Clinton early in the campaign, and this latest insult by qualifying whether she'll support the nominee - class act! None of this given its proper due in the press compared to the raking over the coals of the Clintons.

Thank you Michelle Obama for helping me finalize my undecided opinion.

Your man has been at the very bottom of my list this season, with Hillary just above him.

My vote's going for the candidate who's spouse sad that God must be messin' with his brain giving him exactly what he's prayed for for years.

All the candidates on in the Democratic field were FAR superior than those in the Republican so it's all good.

Maybe, Michelle needs to start watching her own tone.
