I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Michel

This morning on Good Morning America:

ROBERTS: So what if Senator Clinton defeats her husband, becoming the first woman nominee. Could you see yourself working to support the first woman nomination?

OBAMA: I'd have to think about that. I'd have to think about that, her policies, her approach, her tone.

ROBERTS: That's not a given?

OBAMA: You know, everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is. I think that we're all working for the same thing. and, you know, I think our goal is to make sure that the person in the White House is going to take this country in a different direction. I happen to believe that Barack is the only person who can really do that.

Well lets see how well the clintons support Obama. I hope that they do a little more for him than they were willing to do for Gore and Kerry.

OK, enough with the hair-trigger responses to a totally clipped and therefore media-manipulated sound bite. I'm so sick of this shit ...

Of course she will "think about" how to support Hillary. I am 100% confident that if Hiilary gets the nomination, Barack and Michelle will be behind her, and will campaign for her. At this time though, all her efforts and attention are focused on getting her husband nomination - That's okay.
One thing we must not forget is: This nation can not afford another president that will continue the disaster created by George Bush... McCain and Romney will not be much different than Bush.

This is a very divisive and ungracious woman.

Jeez, how can so many people who frequent a political blog be so ignorant of the realities of politics?

Why do you think neither Obama nor Hillary would give a firm commitment to considering to be the other's running mate at the last debate?

When you are running for office you never validate questions about your losing or you are publicly giving weight to that possibility. If the anti-Obama posters want to be honest, they'd have to admit that Hillary has never said publicly that she would "work for" Obama's campaign either (Michelle didn't say she wouldn't vote for Hillary if she was the candidate).

I love how the YouTube clip cuts her off before she finishes her thoughts with a semi-reversal: "...everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is." OK, she may be personally conflicted right now and rightfully so considering the shameful campaign tactics used by Clinton's proxies against Obama. Speaking of shameful, this admittedly unwise statement 2 days before Super Tuesday PALES IN COMPARISON to Bill Clinton's onslaught of desperate, divisive distortions.

I find it strange that the statement was made this morning on GMA. Why did the HuffPost not post it so late in the day?

I will support Obama or Clinton in the general election....

Well, a lot of folks will be thinking about supporting Hillary, especially after her own alma mater's newspaper - the Yale Daily News - just endorse BARACK OBAMA!!! Please read their endorsement as it's informative.

I think it's an unfair question to ask Michelle right now (and of Bill about Barack now, too). The more she gives credibility to her current competitor, the more potential fuel the fence sitters have for choosing Hillary ("well, Obama's wife said she'd vote for her if Barack lost, so she's better"). When their contest is over, for sure, you'll see the loser support the winner against the republican nominee. Do you see Romney support McCain or vice versa right now? It's a dumb question, timing-wise, IMO.

Last I checked, it was a good thing to "think" before you supported any candidate.

Michelle Obama would rather have 100 more years of war in Iraq than vote for Hillary Clinton. What kind of democrat is she? She would rather have another conservative appointed to the Supreme Court, have Roe v Wade overturned, have no shot at universal healthcare, keep the Bush tax cuts for the rich, put more economic strain on the middle class, and forget the poor. What an example of hope and change and unity, she won't even commit to getting behind the democratic nominee if it is not her husband. Of course, Obama himself has implied that he is not sure that his followers would support Hillary either if she were to get the nomination. I disagree. If Obama backed her, as he should, so would a lot of his followers. I support Hillary Clinton, but if Obama gets the nomination, I'll do the right thing. For Michelle Obama to question whether or not she would support Hillary is anti-American, anti-democratic, and just plain childish. She should be ASHAMED!!!

Why do people only show a very small portion of a clip and make it the whole story? She said (not shown in the clip) that she will support whoever the nominee is. What she is asked is if she willing to WORK, as in actively campaigning, for Hillary and she said she'd have to think about it. She's not obligated to perform on behalf of Hillary as she is for her husband, but she'll support her. What more do you want? Sheeesh

For all this talk about unifying the democratic party and america, it seems Mrs. Obama doesn't practice what she preaches. HOPE and UNITY to Obama they are just words in a campaign speech. And Americans are eating it up like sheep. Thanks Oprah!

Michelle can vote for whoever she choses. There are many of us who will not vote for Hillary and know she is not electable. She will lose to McCain. Who is worse anyway? They are old chums, both voted for the Iraq war, both voted for the Kyle-Lieberman resolution. Hill is an old hack but she doesn't have what a lot of us are looking for. I want change and 8 more years of the Clingons is not change.
She has received more money from lobbyists than any other politician...well except for George Bush.
Get the picture now?
