Time's Mark Halperin reports that senior Clinton campaign advisers -- including campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle -- have "voluntarily chosen to work without pay this month" as part of a "Clinton cash crunch" against the Obama campaign. (This is despite the fact that campaign pollster Mark Penn's firm was paid $4.3 million by the campaign.)

In related news, Obama aides say they expect to raise another $30 million in February alone, nearly matching their record cash haul in January.

Much more from AP:

WASHINGTON -- Super Tuesday's mixed outcome has set up at least four weeks of frenzied delegate hunting for Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, pitting his well-financed all-terrain campaign against her big state strategy.

In a sign of Obama's growing financial advantage, Clinton acknowledged Wednesday that she loaned her campaign $5 million late last month as Obama was outraising and outspending her heading into Feb. 5 Super Tuesday contests.

Buoyed by strong fundraising and a primary calendar in February that plays to his strengths, Obama plans a campaign blitz through a series of states holding contests this weekend and will compete to win primaries in the Mid-Atlantic next week and Hawaii and Wisconsin the following week.

Clinton, with less money to spend and less confident of her prospects in the February contests, will instead concentrate her efforts on Ohio and Texas, large states that hold primaries March 4 and where polling shows her with a significant lead. She even is looking ahead to Pennsylvania's primary April 22, believing a largely elderly population there will favor the former first lady.

Clinton's personal loan illustrated her financial disadvantage and her desire to pick her targets with care. On Wednesday, she sent out an e-mail appeal to donors Wednesday seeking $3 million in three days _ an effort, that if successful, would match the fundraising rate Obama averaged for the entire month of January.

"I loaned it because I believe very strongly in this campaign," Clinton told reporters Wednesday. "We had a great month fundraising in January, broke all records, but my opponent was able to raise more money and we intended to be competitive and we were."

"And I think the results last night proved the wisdom of my investment."

Both campaigns claimed bragging rights for their Super Tuesday successes Wednesday while acknowledging it could be weeks or even months until either candidate has amassed enough delegates to win the party's nomination.

Obama won 13 Super Tuesday states while Clinton picked up eight and American Samoa with New Mexico left to be decided. Both camps claimed a small delegate lead, but an analysis by The Associated Press indicates there were still many to be counted.

"We are going to try and contest every contest, and win as many delegates we can," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said. "If you look at the next month, we have a lot of confidence that we will hold the pledged delegate lead."

Obama, riding a wave of fundraising both from large donors and small Internet contributors, raised a stunning $32 million in January. Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe said last week the Clinton campaign raised only $13.5 million for the month. The $5 million loan was in addition to that amount, Wolfson said.

Clinton advisers were stunned by Obama's January fundraising and have marveled at his ability to raise small-dollar amounts from a vast field of donors.

"We will have funds to compete," chief Clinton strategist Mark Penn said, "but we're likely to be outspent again."

The Clinton camp was eager to take the luster off of Obama's status as a "movement candidate" who has generated unprecedented activism and fundraising through the Internet. Clinton strategists went out of their way to label him an "establishment candidate" and worked to pitch her message to online activists.

Obama was heading late Wednesday to Louisiana, where he is favored to win the state's primary Saturday largely on his strength among black voters. He also planned to campaign in Nebraska and Washington state, which also hold contests that day.

Clinton was being more circumspect. She planned to campaign Thursday in Virginia, which holds its primary next Tuesday along with neighbors Maryland and the District of Columbia. She was also headed to Maine, which holds precinct caucuses Sunday.

Penn conceded the campaign would rely on surrogates to campaign for her in most of states holding contests Saturday, including President Clinton and daughter Chelsea. It was a tacit admission that the former first lady was unlikely to win any of those states outright.

Privately, her strategists have also largely written off her chances of winning the so-called Potomac primary Feb. 9, given the large black populations in Virginia, Maryland and D.C. They are also playing down her chances in the following week's major primaries _ Hawaii, where Obama grew up, and Wisconsin, which has virtually sealed the nomination for other Democrats in years past.

Wisconsin's Democratic electorate is largely liberal and college educated, and its open primary allows independents to vote _ all factors that favor Obama.

Clinton political director Guy Cecil insisted the campaign was competing hard in all those places. the campaign has paid staff in Wisconsin and as developed a strong grass-roots organization there.

The campaign, however, was clearly focused on the March 4 contests in Ohio and Texas, both of them offering a trove of delegates. But both states are have several media markets, making advertising an expensive proposition. A state wide race in Texas can cost $1 million a week in advertising.

Cecil identified Texas as a top priority. "We think it is a linchpin in our nomination to the presidency," he said.

While Clinton was focusing on Ohio and Texas, her organized supporters were weighing in for her in upcoming state contests. The American Federation of Teachers was going up with radio ads promoting her in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. They also planned a two-week placement of radio ads in Wisconsin, which holds its primary Feb. 19.

Clinton faces significant fundraising obstacles ahead, raising the possibility that she might have to dip into the family's wealth again. The Clinton's financial disclosures, which reveal only broad ranges of assets, place their wealth between $10 million to $50 million.

Campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said the loan came from Sen. Clinton's "share of their joint resources."

An analysis by the Campaign Finance Institute, which tracks trends in political money, found that Obama raised about a third of his money in 2007 from donors who gave $200 or less. Only one-third of his money came from donors who have given the legal maximum of $2,300, compared to Clinton who raised about half of her money from "maxed out" donors and only 14 percent from donors of $200 or less.

"The problem most liberal democrats are having supporting Hillary is her inconsistency as a proponent of progressive ideals and her consistency as a Senator voting for a Republican agenda." That is your problem- not hers. She has been ranked as being the 16th most liberal Senator in the Senate in 2007. She and Obama have voted the same way 87% of the time while together in the Senate. Can you people claiming she is a Republican just do a little fact-checking before you spout out all of this nonsense?

BE WARY OF HILLARY BEING THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS... IT'S THE THEIR CAMPAIGN TACTIC

Never underestimate a Clinton vying for the presidency. The new strategy: play on the walmart womens sympathies.

Exhibit 1 -- The boys were being too tough on her in NH, so she was verklempt.

Exhibit 2 -- The night before super Tuesday when things were polling better for Obama, and an outing where she "promised she wouldn't cry."

Exhibit 3 -- The Obama supporters are just too overwhelming with their donations, so my money that Bill has been has been leveraging for the past eight years from places like Kazakstan, Dubai, and China is need to infuse my campaign to stay competitive with the new guy.

Who really believes this stuff?

The problem most liberal democrats are having supporting Hillary is her inconsistency as a proponent of progressive ideals and her consistency as a Senator voting for a Republican agenda.

It is very difficult to discern the real Hillary and what she actually stands for or believes in.

If she quacks like a Republican and acts like a Republican then we liberals have no alternative but to assume she also thinks like a Republican.

Unlike Russ Feingold or Dennis Kucinich whose positions and votes on progressive issues can always be counted on, Hillary on the other hand is either hypocritical about her commitment to liberal democratic ideals or she is basically a Republican at heart or simply without strong core beliefs and a pandering politician who does what she thinks is popular at the moment.

A quick review of the issues that are extremely important to progressive liberal democrats reveals that she is definitely not one of us.

On the most significant issue of the twenty first century, the unnecessary War against Iraq she not only voted to give Bush authorization to Bomb innocent women and children in Baghdad, but she justified her vote with bellicose saber rattling on the floor of the Senate, to help enrage the populace and rally the country to support this immoral, shameful preemptive act of destruction.

To Summarize; She Voted for a Republican War with Iraq. She Voted for the Kyl-Lieberman Act to Bomb Iran. She Voted for the Anti Consumer Bankruptcy Bill. She Voted Against Eliminating Barbaric Cluster Bombs, which were used by Israel in their war with Lebanon.

On these the most critical and defining issues for progressive peace loving democrats, Hillary Clinton acted like a Republican and embraced the foreign policies of G.W. Bush, while Barack Obama remained true to Democratic Principals and did not waiver when going to War was popular and actually spoke out against the War, this is basically why Hillary is having such a difficult time among liberal democrats.

I see that Senator Obama refuses to have debates with Senator Clinton, claiming there have already been 18. To my recollection there has been 1.
Don't voters have the right to hear from the candidates own mouths how they plan to lead?
Not just soundbites from the media or prepared speeches at rallies?

Is it because you don't do so well against Mrs. Clinton one on one Sen. Obama? Your website is gloating about how much money you are bringing in,
how about putting your 'mouth where your money is'.

What's really interesting about this is the BBC article where the reporters tried to approach Obama's "supporters" at a rally and were told they are not allowed to talk to anyone. It turned out they were all paid performers. At least, Hillary's people really support her and are willing to work for nothing.

It is perfectly clear to me how this cash thing could have strapped Hillary. Here, in New Mexico, we got about 12 phone calls from the Clinton campaign right before Super Tuesday. We also got large color glossy mailings from them. Some of the calls were faux surveys, where the counting was done twice. But NEVER once did we get even a single email from the Clinton campaign since the campaign started. We've had email communications from the Obama, Edwards, and even McCain campaigns for months on end, both informative emails and emails requesting donations. I guess there's only so much support at the top. Us bottoms never counted til the end. Why is that??? By Super Tuesday, my family was solidly in the Obama camp. I thought one was supposed to prepare for the test all along, not cram!

This is my 1st time posting. Ny 2 cents: for POTUS because of her competence, experience, strength and capability I support Hillary Clinton! I am a medical researcher and using logic is my job and forte.I have invested time researching to form an INFORMED opinion. And I have had to dig deep because of the irrational MUCK that is out there circulating. Obama is very inspirational, spritual leader-like but he happens to be running for POTUS not minister. You approach him logically and he appears weak. So I am sticking with Hillary, for me she has what it takes to be POTUS. The fact that she also connects emotionally with people isn't a minus. Choices based solely on emotion, however, I think are very dangerous. Here's an analogy: would I pick a med student for a doctor, to be in charge of let's say my complicated cancer treatment, without the necessary training, without experience just because they talk great and connect with me? Absolutely not! Haven't we learned anything from history?? We are talking about chosing a POTUS here! Everyone needs to do the responsible thing here and THINK THINK THINK. Think about Iraq, are you convinced Obama would have voted against the Iraq resolution had he been in the US senate? Are you sure you would have, had you been given the "facts" that we all know NOW were lies? So, Obama's, as many say, strongest anti-Hillary point, does not carry. The logic doesn't carry! Hillary's logic, however, carries. One last thing I would like to add: I think the gender bias here is so apparent. This pervasive Hillary dislike and outright hatred is so utterly irrational. Think for a moment if the genders were switched, Barack a woman Hillary a man. Would Barack even have had a fighting chance? Would there be the Hillary nutcracker doll, sold by this site? I don't think so! Please people, use your logic! Analyze things, be rational, compare! Don't respond with your gut.
Thanks for your attention!

A FORMAL DEBATE is a CONTEST between the two candidates to see which one has more skill in SPEAKING and REASONING.

1) Senator Obama is an eloquant orator. (NO
TESTING NECESSARY)

2) REASONING--The process of drawing conclusion from facts.
*Senator Obama has proven this with HIS
judgement of the Iraq War. (ONE example)
*OTHER FACTS can be reseached on his
website (ALL ISSUES of concern)
IN DETAIL--of which CANNOT be vocalized
in 30 second soundbytes.

SO, if this debating is not necessary why ask for them?

If AMERICA is not aware of Senator Obama AS THE CLINTON'S NAME----one tend to vote for familiarity. So, the more debates---the less time on the trail.

How clever Hillary!!!!

Household, and Harris Bank, saved Bill and Hillary Clinton from being prosecuted and jailed for the embezzlement of 47 million dollars from a Little Rock-based Savings & Loan, run by their crony, Jim McDougal(he was murdered in jail the night before he was to testify about the misappropriation.) Quietly parked with Household had been 58.4 million dollars of federal agency funds kept, pending the claims of a Chicago-area caulking contractor, Joseph Andreuccetti, that several banks had swindled him out of millions of dollars of properties and assets.

A Hillary Clinton family crony, John E. Gierum, supervised the ear-marked funds while supposedly acting as attorney for Andreuccetti. While apparently under Gierum's management, 50 million dollars of those funds were secretly transferred to Little Rock, an attempt to prevent Bill and Hillary from being prosecuted on federal criminal charges of bank embezzlement. The 3 million dollar difference, called "street tax" in mob jargon, ended up reportedly in late 1991, in the hands of Rahm Emanuel. It jump-started Clinton's campaign for President and gave him a starting edge. Rahm Emanuel, described as a super-fixer, tied to the worldwide currency trading through Chicago and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Harris Bank and such, was rewarded in being for several years Clinton White House Senior Advisor with a desk closest to the Oval Office.
