Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), who endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for president, will be disqualified as a superdelegate at the Democratic convention "under what is informally known as the Zell Miller rule." In 2004, Miller -- then a Democratic senator from Georgia -- attacked Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) in a speech at the Republican National Convention. The DNC "responded with a rule disqualifying any Democrat who crosses the aisle from being a super delegate."

WHY IS IT OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS SEEM TO HAVE A NEED TO REMAIN CITIZENS OF ISREAL TOO- double citizenship should be forfeited before any assignment is given to a US gov't employee.
THERE IS A SERIOUS CONFLICT OF INTEREST GOING ON THAT MUST STOP NOW!.
I question the motives of any federal employee who must keep a citizenship in ANY Other country. CAN ANY ON SAY INSURGENCY??
I'm not anti semetic-I have no concerns about the People of Isreal, I'm more concerned about their political 'leaders' intentions (as much as I have been about Ours). We have seen and sufferd from our rights And freedoms being handed over to Corp'ist, will we have to also hand them over to other nations.
Our 'leaders' have taken our Consitituional Rights and transferred to Big Biz while taking them away from US. the ones our founding fathers intended to enjoy. Not brick and mortar- Flesh and Blood!!!

Why do you think Lieberman has dual citizenship? He has the right to become an Israeli citizen because of his religion, but has not taken up the State of Israel on the offer. If the right of dual citizenship is enough to prevent a person from holding public office, then no Jew can hold public office, a violation of the Constitutional ban on religious tests for public office.

When it all blows up and we are left to wandering the vast wasteland as individuals or in tiny bands, there are two groups of people I will give wide berth to. Foremost is any group of religious zealots. The second group is anyone who could give serious consideration to anything even remotely associated with a conspiracy theory such as the one above.

I'm not saying I believe all of this, and I'm not usually one for conspiracy theory (but am not so naive to believe that means that conspiracies don't exist - they do), but start piecing things together, and you see things that somehow don't fit.... and then wonder why.

I've thought about that a lot - Had Gore won...Just kind of reinforces the silver lining behind every cloud. It also tells us how little we really know about some people and the importance of pulling their voting records on everything and providing some scrutiny before we opt to vote for them. The Dems have to treat Sen. Lieberman with kid gloves. If he were to change sides from Independent to Republican, it would give the GOP control of the Senate again. The Republicans have successfully blocked most attempts by the Dems to fix Bush's screwups, but if they were again in the majority in the Senate, their power to do immoral acts would be exponentially greater, again.

In any case, the Democrats never really had control - cannot pass a cloture vote on a "good" bill and not enough spine to block a "bad" bill. thus the low approval ratings.

This may not be true at all. Under Senate rules put in after Jeffords switched from Republican to Independent it is my understanding that the Dems could cut Lieberman lose now and they wouldn't lose their majority or committee chairs during the current session which would expire with the next election where they should easily keep their majority without needing Lieberman.

So we all need to put pressure on Democratic Senators to expel Lieberman from the Democratic caucus, strip him of his committees and strip him of his seniority within the Senate. Anything else should not be tolerated as it only makes the Dems look weak and ineffective and willing to allow Lieberman to throw egg in their faces while they sit and watch approvingly.
