I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Limbaugh Hillary

Rush Limbaugh is ready to do his part for the GOP by putting on his own fundraiser. Even if that fundraiser is for the only politician that he believes can unite the party -- Hillary Clinton.

From today's show:

RUSH: All right, folks, I need to ask you a question, personal question from me to you. Do I sound like I need cheering up here? I'm getting e-mails from friends, "Boy, you sound like you could use a little cheering up." And they're sending me these stupid little Internet jokes, "for you to smile," like an Internet joke would cheer me up. Spam would cheer me up. But do I sound like I need to be cheered up? I can't wait 'til the Drive-Bys get hold of my thought, my consideration of helping Hillary raise money. They'll miss the reason. They'll just publicize, "Limbaugh is so upset at Romney getting out, he's thinking of raising money for Hillary, period."

But the reason for raising money for Hillary is because that apparently my party is relying on fear and loathing of Hillary to get the nomination, to unite Republicans, who are, some of them, off the reservation. The Republicans do not seem to be relying on leadership in their party to unite the party. They seem to be relying on all these external things, nobody is going to vote for Hillary, negative turnout factor. What if she's not the nominee? We've got make sure she's the nominee if the Republican Party is to be unified. What more loyal thing could I do than to run a fundraiser for Mrs. Clinton? You watch, though, you watch how that will be questioned.

Limbaugh said yesterday that "if Obama is the nominee, we are doomed, and you should get ready and prepared for it now," and previewed what he thinks will be the Democratic arguments against McCain:

RUSH: She just polarizes people. I think she's going to gin up enough anti-Hillary turnout out there to perhaps be a boon to whoever the Republican nominee is.

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: Now, if Obama is the nominee, we are doomed, and you should get ready and prepared for it now.

CALLER: I agree.

RUSH: I'm going to tell you something else that's going to happen. In addition to all this emotion that Hillary's going to revive in people, all this, "I don't care, I'm not going to vote for that woman," you know she's going to redefine negative turnout. You know she is polarizing. I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. It's already started, I pointed this out. Last week after one of the primaries, Anna Quindlen, Newsweek magazine, "How Old is Too Old?" she laid the foundation for the Drive-Bys' eventual turning on McCain as an old guy getting older. I want to predict to you that once he's got this sewn up you're going to see the Drive-By Media start doing stories on his age, and they're not going to be mean, they are not going to be vicious, they're going to be almost sorrowful. Somebody wrote about this in American Thinker today, too, and I can't remember the name. I think I've got it here in the Stack, but take a look at some of the pictures from last night on television. Here you had McCain, you've got an aging senator here, and an aging governor, gray-haired governor there, you've got old people, gray-haired, blue-haired Bloody Mary gang, women, blue hair in the hives and so forth, you've got pearls and so forth. You contrast that to the Obama crowd that is youthful, it's energetic, it wasn't stoic. I am telling you, if that doesn't work, they're going to go after this age business, and they'll do it almost regretfully. We're going to get the worst pictures of McCain. We're going to get him looking tired. We're going to hear references to his forgetfulness. "Isn't it just a shame?" And if that doesn't work, then they're going to do stories on the fact he's nuts. Just mark my words. Mark my words and don't doubt me.

Jaded vs Cynical - Which is worse? The reason this is a good question is that it speaks to why I think many people support Hillary Clinton. Are her ideas better? Is she more ethical? Truly more experienced? We know the truth of that. They do too. Really they do. But many are convinced that sleazy politics is the only possible reality. If you accept that as given, Hillary Clinton becomes the most likely candidate to succeed in the November election. But what if we could have more than success as measured by the lowest of standards ... we win, they lose.

The real problem? So many people are jaded from a lifetime of political con-artists, cheaters and grifters. So many more are simply cynical, unwilling to tempt the experience of being marginalized, choosing rather the perceived high ground of non-participant and "above it all."

The real problem is that neither the jaded nor the cynical can easily cross the threshold, that of suspending their well-founded belief system for a few moments. The most difficult barrier is not race, gender, conservative, liberal or any other wedge label that has been hung around the neck of every citizen by decades of "divide and conquer" power-mongers. The most difficult boundary is belief. Belief that it might be possible for someone to enter politics that can be just as honorable, strong, reasonable, compassionate and respectful as ... me ... or as you.

Every one of us can recall a story of that one politician that we sent to DC that was going to be above it all only to watch them sucked into the blender and turned into a Washington insider.

The key to reaching people is not your ability to shout them down or eclipse their achievements in news-spin or money collections. The key is in convincing the cynics and the jaded to lower their boundaries long enough to consider the possibility that Barack Obama may actually be what he and half the country believe he is.

The Republicans are fooling the public to believe they are afraid of Barack Obama when the fact is, they are afraid of Hillary Clinton.
Look at Florida and Nevada, as millions of voters voted for her.

The voters in Florida knew their votes are just for formality and they have been stripped of their delegates, yet they came out to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Look at the millions who voted for Hillary in California last Tuesday!
Gosh!
Then she beat Barack Obama in New York and the endorsements of Senator Ted Kennedy, Governor Deval L. Patrick Senator John Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy and the first lady of California, Maria Shriver, Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro and other superstars could not stop Hillary Clinton from knocking out Barack Obama in California Massachusetts.
Hillary Clinton disgraced them all and Barack Obama was very sore and started sending out mails that he had won 13 states.
Can you compare 13 peanuts to 9 coconuts?

Hillary I'm sorry to say it but I'm not that impressed with you or what you have done.

I love women and I think women are the best but I'm convinced you are not the best we have in America.

This may not be polite but I hate to say the only reason we even know who you are is because you were the first lady when the president of the United states decided to embarrass your family and our country.

you keep proclaiming this 35 year record.

35 years of what exactly?

MLK was killed when he was 39. look what he did with his years.

What did you really ACCOMPLISH?

I know you tried to do a lot of things.

I tried to solve a rubix cube but how does that stand for experience.

We all know the guy from office space that shows up everyday and never really accomplishes anything. Doe he have experience? yeah but what did he accomplish?

Billary is the office space candidate.

All hat no cattle

You Hillary supporters amaze me. Rush endorsing anyone is doomed. Everyone he has endorsed or supported is now out of the race. You can spin all you want but to Democrats GW might as well have endorsed her. Rush and the republicans want Hillary no doubt about it. Nothing will unite the Republican party like Hillary. Alot of them will stay home if Obama is the nominee just cause they dont like McCain. I will stay home of Hillary is the nominee. I wont vote for a R in D clothing...

Obviously you didn't do your homework.

I dont care for the guy, but I tuned in to a few shows to get caught up on his thoughts. He endorsed no one for this election, and he supported no one for this election.

His point this year was that there are no great "Ronald Reagan" type conservatives running, so he supports no one. He may like the views of one candidate more than another, but he doesn't want them in office, weakening the conservative party.

He said McCain is the "Joe Lieberman" of the right (a democrat hiding in republican clothing).

I actually admire that he is standing on principle, and not just voting for a person because he is republican.

I wish more people on both sides of the aisle would learn more about issues, and vote on principle, rather than just voting for their party because that's what they are told to do.

I actually think it will be funny if he starts telling the nation he is fundraising for hillary. I remember when Limbaugh made the announcement last year that he is backing Harry Reid for a "people with disabilities" plan (apparently Limbaugh is deaf in one ear), and ABC News said Reid immediately called Limbaugh to ask him to stop telling people he is supporting Reid.

It makes great comedy to watch these slimy politicians squirm.

You libs keep resorting to name calling yet have the nerve to say conservatives are uneducated and also conviently forget your peoples personal problems. He went through rehab and is over it. He was open and honest about it as well with the American people. Why is he a "fat hypocrite"? Instead of throwing insults around why don't you share some facts as you comment?

I live in a Red State. Actually the mecca of Red States, Texas. I have time and time again come across numerous of red-blooded Texans, who have never previously even thought about voting for a Democrat, are whole-heartedly supporting Barack Obama. Why? Maybe because they are opening their eyes for the first time and Obama is getting them to do that, maybe because they are ready for a change and Obama inspires them, but either way, they are coming out in support for this candidate. I think it's not even a question who has a better shot in the national election, and that is Obama. I think the Democratic party needs to come together and realize our best chance at putting a Democrat in the white house is putting forth a nominee who not only can secure the Democrats votes, but also can secure independents and Republican votes. To me, that no question, is Barack Obama.

Limbaughs time is ending and he knows it. All the hard right radical whacko nutjobs that have been running this country for the last 25 years are on their way out, no matter who wins the democratic nomination. He is fully cognizant of the fact that the tidal wave that is sweeping the right wing into the abyss means his particular brand of bullshit is terminal, and with it, advertising revenues and eventually his job. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Amazing how you "educated" liberals resort to name calling and swearing in all your posts.

Limbaugh is right about how the republican party needs to get back to conservative values. There is no tidal wave sweeping the GOP. He, like all of us conservatives have certain values and expectations in our candidates. He sticks to those values and people criticize him because he won't give into more left leaning candidates. So his decision (freedom of choice) is seen as a bad thing. We need more people to stick to what they say and not govern based on which way the polls are going.

That whole "freedom of choice" thing didn't seem to matter much when the Supreme Court stripped it from the American voters, who used their freedom of choice to chose Al Gore. Then again, like all good conservatives, values only apply to other people, not to themselves. Kind of like the "lock up drug addicts and throw away the key" value. Oddly enough, Rush doesn't apply that line of thinking to himself. Otherwise he'd have a job that is more appropriate to his intellectual level: making license plates for 12 cents an hour. It is truly a shame that Rush doesn't stick to what he says.

What the Hell. Back in the day who was it that first suggested Hillary run: Rush. Of course he should support her campaign. Nothing would be better to revive his faltering show then another Clinton in the Whitehouse.

I think a lot of you are missing the point. Did you watch McCain's speech yesterday? McCain is stiff, old fashioned and unispiring. It's not about experience, it's about using sound judgment. Just watch Obama speak. He inspires people to be better Americans, in the fashion of JFK. He shows good judgement and will surround himself with bright, progressive thinkers. Democrats should be progressive and look for new solutions, not try to return to a by-gone Reagan era as McCain and seemily most republican want. The contrast of McCain and Obama in debates will make everyone "see the light".

I couldn't agree more. Barack Obama is the perfect contrast with crotchety, old, hawkish John McCain. If America picks McCain over Obama then there really IS no hope.

As for Rush, he'll fundraise for Hillary because he misses the Clinton bashing (his glory days). But will he fundraise for Barack?

And if not, ....WHY? Republicans still think they can win against (or with) a Clinton.
