I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Limbaugh Hillary

Rush Limbaugh is ready to do his part for the GOP by putting on his own fundraiser. Even if that fundraiser is for the only politician that he believes can unite the party -- Hillary Clinton.

From today's show:

RUSH: All right, folks, I need to ask you a question, personal question from me to you. Do I sound like I need cheering up here? I'm getting e-mails from friends, "Boy, you sound like you could use a little cheering up." And they're sending me these stupid little Internet jokes, "for you to smile," like an Internet joke would cheer me up. Spam would cheer me up. But do I sound like I need to be cheered up? I can't wait 'til the Drive-Bys get hold of my thought, my consideration of helping Hillary raise money. They'll miss the reason. They'll just publicize, "Limbaugh is so upset at Romney getting out, he's thinking of raising money for Hillary, period."

But the reason for raising money for Hillary is because that apparently my party is relying on fear and loathing of Hillary to get the nomination, to unite Republicans, who are, some of them, off the reservation. The Republicans do not seem to be relying on leadership in their party to unite the party. They seem to be relying on all these external things, nobody is going to vote for Hillary, negative turnout factor. What if she's not the nominee? We've got make sure she's the nominee if the Republican Party is to be unified. What more loyal thing could I do than to run a fundraiser for Mrs. Clinton? You watch, though, you watch how that will be questioned.

Limbaugh said yesterday that "if Obama is the nominee, we are doomed, and you should get ready and prepared for it now," and previewed what he thinks will be the Democratic arguments against McCain:

RUSH: She just polarizes people. I think she's going to gin up enough anti-Hillary turnout out there to perhaps be a boon to whoever the Republican nominee is.

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: Now, if Obama is the nominee, we are doomed, and you should get ready and prepared for it now.

CALLER: I agree.

RUSH: I'm going to tell you something else that's going to happen. In addition to all this emotion that Hillary's going to revive in people, all this, "I don't care, I'm not going to vote for that woman," you know she's going to redefine negative turnout. You know she is polarizing. I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. It's already started, I pointed this out. Last week after one of the primaries, Anna Quindlen, Newsweek magazine, "How Old is Too Old?" she laid the foundation for the Drive-Bys' eventual turning on McCain as an old guy getting older. I want to predict to you that once he's got this sewn up you're going to see the Drive-By Media start doing stories on his age, and they're not going to be mean, they are not going to be vicious, they're going to be almost sorrowful. Somebody wrote about this in American Thinker today, too, and I can't remember the name. I think I've got it here in the Stack, but take a look at some of the pictures from last night on television. Here you had McCain, you've got an aging senator here, and an aging governor, gray-haired governor there, you've got old people, gray-haired, blue-haired Bloody Mary gang, women, blue hair in the hives and so forth, you've got pearls and so forth. You contrast that to the Obama crowd that is youthful, it's energetic, it wasn't stoic. I am telling you, if that doesn't work, they're going to go after this age business, and they'll do it almost regretfully. We're going to get the worst pictures of McCain. We're going to get him looking tired. We're going to hear references to his forgetfulness. "Isn't it just a shame?" And if that doesn't work, then they're going to do stories on the fact he's nuts. Just mark my words. Mark my words and don't doubt me.

Rush is a fool. He will put Hillary into the lead as the Dem candidate, just so McCain has a chance of winning. Of course, he is betting that Obama won't be involved and that someone from the far right is McCain's running mate.

We'll see how this one unfolds.

Whatever happened to the "Flush Rush" movement? :>) Someone should have done so, IMHO. :>)

Just heard Thom Hartmann talk about how he went to dinner last night in Washington DC (he was broadcasting from the far right-wing nut loon convention yesterday and he was sitting at table by himself. Next to him was a table of four Mitt supporters and they were talking amongst themselves about what they should do next since their man quit and three out of four of them said that they would take a really good hard look at Obama if he becomes the Dem nominee. They also said that it would be a dream come true for the repugs if Hillary becomes the nominee - just saying!

Oh those crazy "Obamites" - sorta sound like "Naderites" to me. But, are they true Dems OR RNC bloggers, that is the question! I will support whomever is my parties nominee, but I predict if it is Obama, he will loose in a monster landslide to McCain. ANYBODY who believes that the "spoken support" of HRC by ANYONE on hate radio, is anything more than a way to downgrade HRC and promote Obama, has been inhaling paint fumes!

The repubs may be a nasty lot, but they arn't stupid! They know that their ONLY shot at 1600 Penn. Ave in 2008 is Obama. Chris Dodd was my candidate of choice, but with him out, I can only support the candidate of MY party, whmever that may be.

Well, I voted for Obama and I was a Naderite and I'll agree I'm not a true Democrat. In fact, I can't stand them. But I have to vote for someone and it won't be HRC. Btw, how did it feel to hold your nose and vote for a loser four years ago?

A lot of crazy speculations here.

Lets throw another reverse psychology angle behind these machinations:

Rush and Ann are secretly huge McCain supporters, always have been. They know the country is truly much more moderate than they or McCain and have been bashing him hard from the conservative side to make him more palatable to moderate republicans and the general electorate. It's working great so far. In another 8 months they will take over and McCain will do their bidding.

C'mon it is obvious isn't it!! How can you fools be so blind.

Uh ..... right. Makes just about as much sense as the rest of the conclusive analysis here.

The righties are telling you what they know to be true.

The beauty of Obama supporters:

1> We are not swayed by the typical games. Most are all too familiar and ready for them so they will not have an effect.

2> We know the most important issue is character. In 4 years as president it is very difficult to predect exactly how things will go. You have to vote for the person with the best character.

3> We are positive, "half glas full" individuals who have achieved in our personal lifes things that people have told us we caint.

4> We believe. YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're doing exactly what Rush wants. The republicans are scared to death of Hillary.

A Obama/Hillary or Hillary/Obama ticket is THE ticket to a win for the Democrats. It is also a ticket for a win in this country. The role of President is just a face anyway, the "job" is done by many people. Having two such talented people in the White House to fix the mess George will leave, is optimal.

Let's admit that the "power" of conservative radio hosts like Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter are not as big a force as in the past. The reason is simple: More people are getting involved which means more voters which means their 5% of the total is meaningless.

Good point but I believe the main reason for the decline in the hate hawkers' hold on their listeners is due to their unflagging support and continued worship of all things Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld while almost all of the rest of the country wised up. Only the most die-hard ideologue could have listened to the likes of Rush, Sean, and Ann singing the praises of B/C/R/R and ignored the realities of Iraq and the declining economy. Everybody else lost the scales on their eyes quite some time ago.
The fact that these paid party hacks have been so wrong and dishonest about the current administration is the real reason their venomous verbiage holds far less sway than it once did.

I am a passionate supporter of Barack Obama.

AND . . .

I think Rush Limbaugh is full of a lot of hot air.

For, as much as I support my candidate, I don't believe a single Democrat should take Limbaugh's bluster even a little seriously. It's all spin within spin within spin.

Democrats should vote for . . . whomever they support. If it's Barack Obama, I'm overjoyed. If it's Hillary Clinton, that's great - thank you for turning out in numbers that have (doubled, tripled, quadrupled Republican turnout?).

I disagree with Hillary's Iraq votes, with her co-sponsorship of a law that would make it a crime to burn a flag, with her initial support of the bankruptcy law that is hitting middle and lower income Americans very hard as I write, and with her health care plan that follows the Massachusetts model of Mitt Romney (the outcome there has been 20% UNinsured).

But all of those are issues within our party, between us and about OUR candidates.

And, I've a VERY strong gut instinct that we will, en masse IGNORE the spin that seeks to make us actually think, even for a moment, of taking Rush Limbaugh's "thoughts" regarding our nomination process any more seriously than Ann Coulter's or Alfred E. Newman's.

ATTENTION HILLARY SUPPORTERS ! SPECIAL NOTICE !
Due to the under-handed tactics and inner-party polarization of Hillary Clinton, millions of Obama supporters WILL NOT support her should she become the nominee. This, in part, is due to the fact that many feel that she is already trying to cheat her way to the nomination by claiming victory in Michigan and Florida. (By the way....how did her name appear on the Michigan ballot anyway ?) Hillary Clinton has totally alienated even her own party members. This is sad....but true. She will not win the Presidency without full Democratic support. Your continued support for Clinton is actually a vote for McCain. Sorry.....these are just the facts! The really sad thing is....we used to like the Clintons ! In addition, there is a groundswell of support to draft Bloomberg as an alternative if deemed necessary; but Americans will not support corruption in this election, even in the name of Party loyalty.

Greg you should vote with your mind and not with your heart. It always amuses me when people are surprised that politicians play politics. The Clintons are running very good , relatively clean campaign against a worthy opponent. Getting on ballots and trying to win the nomination is not cheating, it is a political tactic. If Obama wins the nomination, I am not going to be a sore loser and not vote for him, even though I do not believe he is as squeaky clean as the "millions of Obama supporters." In my opinion, if you do not support who ever the democratic nominee is in November, the blood that another Republican administration will spill over the next 4 years will be on your hands as well.
Rush please raise money for Hillary, but stop telling people you're doing it...she can't be associated with you.

This is complete hogwash. We all have our pre-general election preferences, but when it comes right down to it, we're all committed to getting a democrat in office. Say all you want, we will not burn-out on this one. Please note how evenly split the votes are and understand... this is healthy democracy and debate! But we know with every fiber of our beings that we cannot let another republican of the neo-con ilk in office without dire consequences to our own rights and the global community. For people to think that a passionate supporter of Obama won't happily work hard for Clinton is a just silly. Are you not paying attention? We're focused and we're going to win!

Neither Clinton nor Obama are as good (or bad) as their supporters (or detractors) claim. They are politicians in a hotly contested battle to be the leader of the free world - high stakes requiring sometimes questionable political tactics. I just can't see Obama supporters running to McCain if Hillary is the nominee - as grandma used to say, that's cuttin' off your own nose to spite your face. Clinton supporters are also unlikely to abandon the Democratic ship. I'm going to support the Democratic nominee, period, because I don't think the country can stand another 4+ years of compassionate conservatism.
