"Gotcha" politics based on youthful or private indiscretions are regrettable. Many members of the boomer generation indulged in "recreational" drugs in their youth, and maybe we should concentrate instead on their more recent public behavior, policies, and qualifications. But a distinction needs to be drawn between "hard" drug use on the one hand, and marijuana use, heavy drinking, and womanizing on the other--because the former was and still is felonious. Our democracy does not allow felons to participate in most forms of electoral politics, and voters tend not to reward those exhibiting felonious behaviors by electing them to high office. Whereas then-candidate Bill Clinton feebly confronted but nevertheless diffused the issue of his youthful marijuana smoking by claiming that he "never inhaled," George W. Bush cannot effect a similar triangulation by saying that he "sniffed but never snorted" cocaine. Were he to admit such a serious crime, compounded by a calculated cover-up, he would either need to leave office or be forced to leave, just as drug-aided Olympic athletes must return their gold medals even after the competition is over.....

......The American public deserves to know in advance whether he is legally fit to uphold the laws of our land. If he has nothing to hide, then he should exonerate his good name as soon as possible."

Maybe Obama won't need to be swiftboated....

Please. Obama has had way too many hissy fits about the way Camp Clinton has hurt his lil' feelings to believe he can take on the GOP Swiftboaters.

Imagine a last minute, truth-be-damned, Rethuglican TV spot that goes something like this:

Two very white, very middle class parents stand in the open doorway of their teenage son's bedroom. The kid sits on the corner of his bed, caught snorting cocaine. Dad's apoplectic with anger. Mom's a tearful puddle of disappointment. They ground the kid. They reproach him for wasting his life. The teen responds defiantly, "No big deal. Barack Obama was addicted to coke when he was my age and that didn't stop him from becoming president." Their son rises, ungrounding himself, pushing disrespectfully past his defeated looking parents with the parting shot, "Hell, Obama even wrote a book bragging about it!"

Obamites, forget all that Kumbaya stuff. And Clintonistas, don't delude yourselves into believing that Hillary's already survived all the mud that can be thrown at her. The party of Atwater and Rove. Might was well be talking about Lucifer and Beelzebub. They're as expert at swiftboating as they are incompetent at governing.

Get ready for Thunderdome. Two candidates enter. Only one leaves. And that one may have to be wheeled out on a gurney.

I'm concerned that we are not infiltrated by boat with another kind of swiftboat the enemy.

We now have three people in our Government during War time who have been suspected as being Moslem. We can never let the enemy infiltrate our Government:


Firstly,the issue of Senator Keith Ellison who made it into our government.

Secondly,we have now Senator Barack Hussein Obama to see and check out if he is an enemy Moslem too.


Thirdly there is that Senator just recently (I can't remember his name) who was found to be raising money for the enemy of America the Moslems who wanted to harm Christians, and Jews. Remember that expresssion where there's one there's more. We must not throw caution to the wind, but must be very careful that we are not being infiltrated by people who want to hurt America as what happned in 9/11 NY.
This does not mean they or Senator Barack Obama isn't a sincere and a true American, but really we're at War now with a group of people who hate us. We must be smart and not take chances because what if your wrong?

About a year before the 9/11 attack in NY, I called into Dr. Bill Wattenburg's radio KGO program to suggest we have parachutes for passengers on airplanes. I could see the hatred over in Europe towards us Americans. Regrettably no one heeded my call. Let's not make this mistake again. Dr. Wattenburg said,"It is too high in air with air pressure problems and this would not work using parachutes to escape airplane is needed. Altitude problems,etc."

Obama needs to connect with the thousands of teenagers in the country who use drugs. As the latest AD says, drug dealers are going out of business since now kids simply go to their parents' medicine cabinet. He can look them in the eye and tell them he understands the internal turmoil that drives them to try and escape with drugs. He can also tell them that if he didn't get off of drugs, he wouldn't be where he is today. He can be a very powerful example for all these kids, unlike Bill Clinton who didn't inhale.... yea, right.

The Republican's won't need to Swiftboat Obama ... they'll be able to use the truth and eviscerate him. It'll be a cake walk for them.

You have a coke snorting alcoholic for President now. Who's going to nail Obama about his admitted drug use as a teenager. The drug-addled Limbaugh? Heroin-chic Coulter? McCain's in the pocket of the cokehead already. And Obama's skin color isn't a surprise that liars and cheaters can exploit. Shining a light on political vampires like the Swift Boaters will make then shrivel and die. The politics of hate and fear have had their day in the sun, and that sun is now setting. Americans in record numbers are saying "NO!" to the hateful lies and smears. The Bush Era is behind us, and America is starved for a positive message of hope and unity.

The ones that were swiftboated were all the dumb asses that re-elected GW. Now talk about a smear job. Lets face it the GOP is on the ropes and will do anything to protect the elite known as the GOP. It makes me sick to think that they would attack Obama. And all you idiots that thought Kerry was a coward are no better than GW and that devil of VP. I think one day when you pull your heads out of your ass and look at history you will be ashamed that you every supported GW. And staying the course only works if you have a plan first.
