Whoopi Endorses Hillary

Yesterday on "The View," Whoopi Goldberg switched her endorsement from Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton. Whoopi cited Clinton's statement that she would end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Whoopi previously believed that Obama had made that pledge first, but apparently she was mistaken. Watch the video of Whoopi on the "The View" below:

Did Roseanne convince her?

Hulk Hogan is still for Obama.

I cannot in good conscience vote for Clinton. I cannot vote for McCain. I will either vote for Obama, Bloomberg or simply not bother.

It does look like Whoopi is about to do the L for loser bit doesn't it. The still do not like Hillary nor will I ever change my mind on that! She voted for the Iraq war without reading the Intel (NIE REPORT) which would had told her what bush lied about. She voted over and over for the patriot act plus whatever bushie wanted. She voted for the Lyle-lieberman bill. She voted NO on the ban of landmines and cluster bombs. Barack voted yes. On and on she has supported big business and the tons of bucks flyong into her camp are mostly lobbiest money. You know the ones who come knocking with their special interests? Bill loved them too. Also Bill made the statement he won't be on staff full time. Makes me think two desks in the oval will not be enough for him.... If she is the nominee I will not vote for her the whack job McCain or the Huckster so my vote will be not counted as it will be blank.

There you go again you Obamayts. Turning into a pile of hyenas. Now that Whoopie has changed her mind, the snarling pack is circling.

Wow your respect for freedom of choice seems to be only for the Obama faithful. Interesting.

I cannot understand this blind loyalty for the Clintons. They were good in the 90's if you don't look behind all of the poor judgements they used in the 90's. NAFTA comes to mind for all of those working class women who are out there doing it for themselves AND THEIR DEVOTION TO HILLARY BEING ONE OF THEM. When was the last time Hillary had to go home and clean her house and raise children by herself? Because of Bill's poor judgement, he set in motion the Republican run on the Government for the last 8 years. We voters got a bad ecoonmy and a WAR chewing up our young people. Hillary is not Bill. Her Judgement is worse.
How is the IRAQ war working for most of you commenters on this Blog, including Whoopi?
My one and only comment for Whoopi is she has a right to support whoever she pleases but I for one don't think it should be a person who has insulted African Americans, along with their surrogates and then Hillary chimed up right behind them. Obama has done nothing but shown Hillary complete respect in his Debates with her. So we are suppose to forget about Bill's "Attack Dog" status. I don't think so.
Bill Clinton is still out there trying to pander to African Americans with "after all I did for your people, you should vote for my wife". Never mind that Senator Obama is a role model for what most African Americans would like to see in their young men. Let's trash him anyway.
By the way, She did get a Sympathy vote when she ran for the Senate the first time. Her main Opponent Rudy G., flamed out with his philandering and prostate cancer. Does this seem familiar. So her often repeated slogan "ready to lead on day one". NOT. So do you really want another perpetuation of the Bush Clinton Dynasty. This is all about Bill Clinton, make no mistake. The Clinton's feel this Presidency is their right. I say the country can do better.

And I can't understand the cult that is Obama.

I can't understand your facination with the Clintons. Please enumerate what Hillary has really done in the years prior to being first lady, other than sitting on Corporate Boards? (Wal-Mart) comes to mind. A company who did everything in its power to stiffle unions, true benefits for workers. Yet these people see her as a savior. Go Figure! Did she actually push any far reaching legislation? I really want to be educated on this. So please educate me on this. Being First Lady does not qualify you for President of the United States no matter how some of you want to make it so. Bill has been out there on stomp just about saying she practically ran the White House, during his time. So maybe she was already President and we did not know it. So this is for Bill's true term?

Niether Bill nor Hillary Clinton have ever "insulted African-Americans" and no matter how many times one is willing to repeat a lie it does not make it true..........................................tm

Tommy: Sad to say but, tell a lie often enough, especially with mainstream media - and it takes a minute for it to become a truth. Very sad indeed - but it is the most effective way to control the general public.

They've literally banned any pro Hillary news items. They've managed to turn the population into a lynch mob. It worked to get Bush elected twice.

I think there's little hope for a mind which bills itself as PhdCommonsense and says: "Because of Bill's poor judgement, he set in motion the Republican run on the Government for the last 8 years."

So the Repigs aren't to blame for their own purposeful behavior? Bill Clinton is? This is not only Repig nonsense, it is the same old, same old, Repig nonsense. It is received wisdom for Repigs that everything is Bill Clinton's fault. And according to the Repigs, everybody is responsible for the disasters of Repig governance. Except Repigs.

Let's all just keep in mind that PhdCommonsense thinks the standard Repig incoherency is common sense. Why is it the ones who talk about it never have any?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:18 AM on 02/09/2008

I did not say it was Bill's fault in its entirety. He set in motion for the Congress to be taken over by the Republicans in 1994 with the Contract with America. They have had control since then. If you don't think it was the reason so many people voted Democrates out, please tell me what it was. He handed the Republicans his head on a platter with the philandering, Even then most people tried to still be on his side including me. But now it is time for change. Then you educate me also and tell me what you think the reason for the Republicans having a 12 year run of the country including electing Bush after 2000 as well as 2004! Remember all of this before 9/11? Then Bush was able to scare the electorate to death with terrorism. Please educate me?

Is there an Oscar for the Best Anti-Clinton Comment?

There is a competition to attack Hillary Clinton.
Ted Kennedy failed.
John Kerry failed.
Caroline Kennedy is no longer sure that Barack Obama is a President like her father JFK.
A biracial American who claims to be a "Christian", but wrote a letter to the "Windy Times" to beg for the newspaper's support by vowing to support gay marriage and to oppose any constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage would have been the worst nightmare of the Roman Catholics.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:01 AM on 02/09/2008

I don't understand your last paragraph. From what I gather, being a true Christian is about love, not hate. I think the fundamentalists have affected your judgment. Wouldn't it show a great amount of character to support something you knew would alienate a segment of your constituents? Well, you do support a candidate who votes the way the wind blows. Or are you just trying to win the Oscar for lamest anti-Obama comment?

This may be why all of the media outlets seem to be denouncing Hillary and exalting Obama. Did you catch the banter on Super Tuesday on MSNBC among Pat Buchanan and the other three analysts? If you had, you perhaps would have noted how he was being treated with respect to any commentary he made of Hillary Clinton in a favorable light by one analyst in particular. Enough said!

Winners ask for debates. And the American people want more debates. The two of them alone have only debated once. Once. And it was one of the highest rated debates in history. I know why Obama won't debate, he is afraid the voters will reject what he has to say. To bad. Be a man and debate or go home.

I think, it is because he has to treat her with kid gloves. If he comes on too strong with disputing her, for some women out there he looks like he is beating up on a poor hapless woman. While at the same time, she can spite fire and brimstone at him and look strong and presidential.

I watch all of the Talking heads, especially the women, the first thing out of their mouths when they interview Obama. "you were a little harsh in your tone with Hillary".

Don't get me wrong, I DON'T think Obama in anyway is intimidated by her. He just does not need to waste him time debating her when he should be before the people and conduct round tables so the real voters can ask him questions. The moderators of these Debate only want to see a Dog and Cat Fight.

I agree. It seems that we have had more debates now than in any other campaign.
Especially when we have some strange questions asked, or when a candidate runs around and around on the "Why did you vote for the war", no one makes her answer it!!

Personally, I'm getting a little tired of the debates.

Let Obama spend his campaign money the way he wants. I wish he would come out with more specifics in his commercials for those people who say he is just hot air. She only wants debates for the free air time.

I'd like to see her release her tax forms. It bothers me that she has announced she won't until she is the nominee

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:26 AM on 02/09/2008

Amen to your argument that it is hard for Obama to debate Hillary because some women will think he is a) too harsh to her or b) condescending towards her. In the one on one debate we saw what would happen if Obama questioned her "35 years of experience." Clinton was asked why her time as first lady qualified her to be President and the audience booed. I think the only way for him to press her on that is to ask to see her memos and position papers on a range of issues, i.e. CHIPS, welfare reform, genocide in Rwanda, and her scandal management positions re: all the scandals such as filegate, Lewinsky. Of course if Obama did this he would lose handily. I don't think McCain will have such hesitation.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:51 AM on 02/09/2008

So are you purposefully ignoring the fact that if Senator Clinton questions Senator Obama, in any way whatsoever, she and everyone around her is called racist? I have heard that one unendingly, while I have NEVER even once heard anyone accuse Senator Obama of "beating up on a poor hapless woman". And Senator Clinton is FAR from poor, or hapless. She can give as well as she gets. One of the things we "strong" women adore about her. She can play with the big boys, and even sends them trembling back into their corners.

sure.. keep repeating that. How about letting the public decide. The moderators may want a fight - let's see how well he can handle one. Bring on some debates!!

Now hear this, no one has treated Hillary Clinton with Kid Gloves watch the video feed of her interview with Today show anchor Meredith Viera and you will see how actually quite bitchy she questioned Mrs. Clinton with respect to her "trying to make lemonade from lemons" comment and then watch the feed with her and Obama. If you still feel the way you have indicated, then forgive me, you are suffering a processing disorder. Be Fair!

Obama is afraid to debate a girl. Obama is afraid to debate. Why??? The people have a right to hear him one on one with Hillary.

Come on Obama - let's hear what you have to say.. once a week.

What are you afraid of?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:05 PM on 02/09/2008

Did their positions on anything change in the last week? I doubt it. This is Hillary hoping that he'll make a mistake, slip on his tongue. She also wants to throw some more mud and get this thing down in the mud where she has a chance because that's who she is. She doesn't really want to debate anything, she wants to mud wrestle. That is the Clinton's style - pugnacious. Have you ever argued with someone when a third party would say that neither will win the argument and it appears that one party won't give it up - no matter what? People are now starting to wonder if that is what Hillary Clinton is and will be - that she will never give up no matter whether she brings the entire Democartic party down with her. Wall Street Journal has an article on the very thing.

HAS ANYONE READ THE ARTICLE BY: Catherine Dodge and Alex Tanzi Wed Feb 6 th

The headline reads: Obama will run for Governor of Illonis after he drops out. Obama Campaign Projects Deadlocked Race After Primaries Finish. It is based on a memo that the Obama camp says they accidentally faxed to the media. What accident? And the memo conclusion from the Obama campaign is that Obama can't win, he can only tie. I can't believe that Obama is admitting he can't win. Then why in the world is still asking for money? And why in the world would anyone vote for someone who says up front they can't win and that he will drop out to run for Ill. governor.

Question: Have you let Whoopi inform *anything* you've done, um, ever?

No? Then why would you start now? I don't care about Kennedy 1, 2, 3 supporting Barack. I only pay attention to the person running for office. I don't care what pundits say.

Vote for Hillary--if that's what you think makes sense.

Vote for Barack--if it's what moves you.

But for god's sakes vote--and not because Oprah, Whoopi, or anyone else (including me) says so and for whom.

Hillary may have her faults, and perhaps "Bill" baggage; however, I am looking at her experience vs. Obama and thus far I favor Hillary because she is very savvy in having been married to a Governor and a President. I know, you may say, that doesn't matter. It does marry to someone like Hillary who is more than just the "good little first lady". She's "up front" interested in things that matter to all of us and very willing to lay it on the line, whether she always wins the game or not. SHE HAS MY VOTE!!!!!!
