With the race to succeed him reaching a critical juncture, President Bush this morning began rallying the Republican base around its presumptive nominee, John McCain, and in the process tried to define his own legacy for the general election campaign to come.

In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, Bush offered an implicit endorsement of McCain's bona fides as a true conservative in the face of deep skepticism on the right. Although he did not mention McCain by name, the president said whoever ends up being the Republican nominee will represent conservative values.

That photo tells the whole story!

That's not a hug ... it's a loving embrace!

.

Just look at mclame ... his eyes are closed like a girls when kissing.

I wonder if his foot raised ever so gently during that hug?

Wow Jack, men hugging really seems to get to you.

You would think by the time you got to be your age you would feel more secure about your own masculinity.

Do you still shake your son's hand in greeting?

Bush saying McCain is alright will be all the "Conservatives" need.
Once they are told that Reagan was the first divorced President (and stats from the eighties show his influence DEFINITELY made more impact than any homosexual on "the sanctity of marriage," he was MR Illegal immigrant with a gigantic amnesty plan, and he spent us into a giant hole.

McCain is MORE conservative than Reagan on one of his "good days." The reich wing is just the booby-side of the bird.

We are seeing the results of the chip planted in the Republicans by aliens to transmit intelligence
about life on earth. They picked the wrong party, it turned into a meat tenderizer............

To be honest, until McCain started showing up with Falwell and Dobson,he was the only Republican I would have considered voting for.But to see and hear him fellate the fundies was disgusting and dispiriting,as he had been one of the few politicians I had any real respect for.Of course,he then proceeded to back down on his opposition to the torture of military detainees, and decide eternal war in Iraq is a good thing.

I've since learned about the Keating Five, and how he and John Kerry have spent much of their careers slandering the families of Vietnam POWs and MIAs,and I realize that he's pretty much another GOP slimeball, out to steal all ha can and cover his ass with the morons who really think they belong to the Party of God and Abraham Lincoln.

Just one lying, greedy, stupid, corrup, selfish, imoral, egomaniac, conniving, deceitful, hypocritical, warmongering, useless politician supporting another lying, greedy, stupid, corrup, selfish, imoral, egomaniac, conniving, deceitful, hypocritical, warmongering, useless politician.

The photo is from 2004, I think, which doesn't seem to be noted anywhere.

Yeah, and that was four years after the BUsh folks smeared his war record and bashed his adopted Bangladeshi daughter.

John McCain isn't a Maverick - he's a first-class suck-up.

McCain did enough ass-sucking for Bush to win his endorsement. On the other hand, who else would Bush pick to continue the war on terror?

God help us if McCain wins the election because he will waterboard this country to death.

That image of McCain caving to trash should have been the fourth part of the three-part poster set HuffPo put together late last year. It's all I can do to avoid upchucking everytime I see that made-for-hell image. I suspect I'm not alone.

Isn't that an old, old pic? Let's not stoop to their tactics by using an inflammatory photo to grab readers and raise hackles; if right is on your side, you don't need tabloid tactics - save them for the entertainment section which is increasingly like the Nat'l Enquirer.

Bush testifying as to McCain's conservative credentials is absurd and only reinforces the hypocrisy of GOP politics. This maladministration has been anything but conservative yet virtually no one in their party points out the massive spending, nation building and expansion of government.

Ask a conservative what their values are and they will tell you a list of things that BushCo has been the reverse of - - - as long as they do not know the comparison is coming. The lock step party only cares about one thing, keeping the party of the people out of power.
