Bush: Obama Would "Attack Pakistan And Embrace Ahmadinejad"

Appearing today on Fox News Sunday, President Bush laid into Sen. Barack Obama, claiming he would "attack Pakistan" and "embrace" Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"I certainly don't know what he believes in," Bush said when asked if there had been a "rush to judgment" about Obama. "The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he's going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad."

Bush added he doesn't think people know enough about Obama -- but wouldn't comment on why, if that's the case, so many are supporting him.

In fact, Obama has not advocated either for attacking Pakistan or embracing Ahmadinejad. Obama has said that the U.S. should be willing to strike against al Qaeda targets in Pakistan if the country's president Pervez Musharraf refuses. Obama also said during a debate last year that he was willing to meet with leaders of Iran and other U.S. rivals without preconditions, although he did not commit to doing so.

Obama's chief rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, has also criticized Obama for his remarks on Pakistan and for being willing to meet with foreign leaders.

Obama's campaign responded this morning. "Of course President Bush would attack the one candidate in this race who opposed his disastrous war in Iraq from the start. But Barack Obama doesn't need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation," said spokesman Bill Burton.

Watch the video of Bush:

Transcript:

WALLACE: Do you think there's a rush to judgment about Barack Obama. Do you think voters know enough about him?

BUSH: I certainly don't know what he believes in. The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he's going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad. I think I commented that in a press conference when I was asked about that.

WALLACE: I hope not. But so you don't think that we know enough about him or what he stands...

BUSH: It doesn't seem like it to me, but this campaign is plenty of time for candidates to get defined. He is yet his party's nominee.

WALLACE: So why do you think he's gotten this far if people don't know what he stands for?

BUSH: You're the pundit. I'm just a simple president.

*Simple* being the operative word.

Bush doesn't know what Obama believes in-if he could step into the Oval Office on the first day and be ready to be "the Decider". Or, even if he's got the sand to steadfastly continue the bloody chaos in Iraq and without hesitation ignore reality as resolutely. Yes, scary times indeed for democracy's greatest
spreader. Or, is that something else he's been spreading?

George W. Bush giving opinion and advice? Really?

I guess George figures that the last 8 years have gone so well, he wants to make sure that we all have an opportunity to benefit from his wisdom in the future as well.

(Thanks, but no thanks George.)

OMG.

The world has been laughing at us because of this A-HOLE we have in the White House.

Imagine if, when Bill Clinton was president, he said something like what Bush has said?

The slimey Repubs would try and impeach him, call him an embarassment, stating that America is the moral leader of the world....blah, blah, blah....

I can only hope that more Americans open their eyes and get their heads out of thier butts.

Our votes and elections are a joke, neither count, those in congress think we are too stupid to know what is right for our country and they are always trying to do something sneaky to get themselves and their friends some extra cash or favors.

It makes me sick !!!

Mr. Obama this dog and pony show between GW and Chris Wallace should leave you no doubt that you made the right choice in boycotting Fox.

Chimpy is right for once ... he is SIMPLE.

This is ridiculous ... Obama would not attack Pakistan, and I'm sure he'd handle Iran with sensitivity & intelligence (as would Hillary, if elected). Stop asking Bush such important questions ... you'll just get these insane replies over & over again, until he leaves office, which can't come too soon for many Americans.

Trust me on this, you'll hear this same crap from the republican party if Obama wins the nominee. And quess? IT WILL WORK!!!!
03:03 PM on 02/11/2008
The GOP in desperation to have Hillary as an opponent! Panic in the streets over the idea of facing Obama in the general election!
04:27 PM on 02/11/2008
No they are not. Republicans would love to have Hillary. Specifically, those with lots of money. After all, she like most Republicans and Democrats, are bought and paid politicians. By the corporations, for the corporations.

All this bullshit about Democrats being tough on corporations is just that... bullshit. NAFTA anyone? And just how has The Democratic Party changed the Iraq equation? They haven't. Period. End your illusion. Sucker.

Georgie porgie the wors president in History, who cares what you think you screwed this country so bad. Only the nuts jobs of Faux Noise listen to what you say. And Chris Wallace, a reporter and I am Santa Claus

George Bush is not the worst President in history. Just the worst President for poor and middle-class, yes. For the rich?

He has done his job admirably. Beyond their wildest dreams. And the Emocrats have so far endorsed his Presidency by putting up token resistance. After all, those same Emocrats in Congress are also getting rich off of him. Not only in monetary terms, but in political power.

The United States of America. In One Party We Trust. Because that is what we have, a one-party system. How long until the illusion ends?

Heck no, I'm not crazy. Why? Do I look crazy?

George Bush is an idiot and a loser who has never been right about anything since his first utterance (I'm guessing around 8-years-old). He has nothing of any worth to say and only a stupid fool would listen to him. He should just shut up and stay hidden for the next 11 months. We're finished with him.
04:31 PM on 02/11/2008
You forgot to mention his IQ of 84. DAMNIT!

Better, far better, to attack Iraq and embrace Musharaff!!

Exactly.

At least he's finally showing that he's capable of honesty, for once:

"I'm just a simple president."

Ain't that the truth.
02:18 PM on 02/11/2008
Is it just me, or does anyone else find Bush's acidic spew rather delightful now that he's utterly irrelevant and has been almost unanimously relegated to Worst President Ever?

Being attacked by Bush is about as close to praise as I can possibly imagine.
02:53 PM on 02/11/2008
'Tis a badge of honor to have Bush attack you publicly.

'Tis uplifting to one's spirit to have Bush attempt a likely-flubbed statement in his version of English which is not complimentary to you.
