Call Lou Dobbs! Canadians Are Walking Amongst You, Undetected

So! Today Canadians are big news! Gawker picked up an item from Shinan Govani's column in the National Post (which is basically the Canadian version of Page Six, except without the shakedown allegations), about a supposed clash between New Yorker contributor/Tipping Point author Malcolm Gladwell and Wired columnist/Slate/NY/NYT mag contributor Clive Thompson, who recently wrote a profile for Fast Company about a Columbia professor who has attacked Gladwell's theory of influentials and how their Hush Puppy-wearing proclivities can start massive trends. Shinan, God love him, picked up on as much dramarama as he could (even though Thompson actually wrote about another person who had a beef with Gladwell, and a scientific, data-based one at that), and quoted a snippy little tattler who claimed that Thompson was secretly jealous of Gladwell; Thompson, maybe one of the nicest and most jolly writers I know in New York, responded by saying that, hell yeah he was jealous of Malcolm Gladwell, who freaking wasn't? See his typically cheery response as follows:

You got it totally wrong. I'm not secretly jealous of Malcolm Gladwell. I'm *openly* jealous of Malcolm Gladwell! Indeed, pretty much any science writer with a pulse these days is possessed of a curdled, corroded envy for Gladwell that poisons our every waking moment. I've got it bad.

In reality, I'm also cravenly *thankful* to the guy, because he singlehandedly created this entire new industry of 8,000-word magazine thinkpieces about science -- thus creating the entire journalistic subgenre into which I have gleefully inserted myself. Woo!

(Anyone who has ever received an email from Thompson or read his excellent science/tech blog will probably recognize the signature "Woo!," not to be confused with his signature "Woot!")

O-kay! So that's that. Gawker's point was, heyyy, there are lots of Canadians here in the New York media! Then Gawker writer Alex Pareene goes on to list a paltry few, requesting help in filling in the blanks. Well, Pareene, you weren't even a 20-year-old NYU dropout when I first posted a non-exhaustive but quite exhausting list of Canucks in the media back on Canada Day, 2005 at FishbowlNY, so you're forgiven for missing the many, many others on the list. Also, our thing is to look like you, smell like you, sound like you (except for the odd "oot") and be smarter than you, because trust us, otherwise it's very very hard to get a visa. So for everyone's edification, and because it damn well stood to be updated, we've prepared a more complete, less out-of-date version, including but not limited to CNN's John Roberts, NBC News' Kevin Tibbles, The Daily Show's Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, Fortune's Richard Siklos, the NYT's Lorne Manly, Bruce Headlam and Paul Tough, NY1's Pat Kiernan, MSNBC's Jackie Meretzky, Teen Vogue Market Editor Joanna Hillman and Celine Dion, who makes every list about Canada, ever.

Ever-evolving list of Canadian media machers in New York after the jump, in alphabetical order because we're just that organized. Please note that in Canada, the alphabet starts with "eh."

The text reads in part:". . .actually wrote about another person who had a beef with Gladwell, and a scientific, data-based one at that)", . . .

This is typical of Shinan Govani and the National Post. Incorrect quotes and attributions as well as ignoring germane facts are standard practice of the National Pest.

They're part of the CanWest Global Corporation and that's affiliated to the Fox people.

Now you know why National Post hasn't succeeded in its nearly 9 years of operations.

Lou Dobbs doesn't care about Canadians. It's those Spanish speaking brown skins that disturb him, every effing night. The man is a broken record.

Lou cares about ILLEGAL ALIENS and their drain on our society. He doesn't care what color or country of origin.

All these people you list are here legally. Why would Lou Dobbs care? He is worried about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. No matter where they are from, what race they are, what religion , or anything else.
He , like many others, are concerned about anyone who enters the US illegally. Its only certain groups who try to twist and put words into peoples mouths. Has nothing to do with country of origin or race, only if they came illegally.
Im sure my words will be twisted and I'll be called racist too. And Im the furthest from it. But that doesnt matter to those who want to twist the truth for their own reasons.
For me It's all about the ILLEGAL part, no hidden buzz words or messages.

Think about it, if a person of a certain race robbed the local 711 and was caught in the act, would you call it racist because he, or she, was caught in an illegal act?

So why is it when anyone comes into the country illegally, who >sometimes< will have to use a legal citizens or residence social security card number to gain employment and use services in the US, not to mention that just because they are here Illegally they are often subjected to very abusive employers who treat them like slaves and pay next to nothing because they dont have much recourse. These Illegals in the US may also have to perform fraud to purchase a car, get a license ( if they do get license) commit fraud to put their children into schools, obtain housing, secure utilities and phone services, and so on. By entering Illegally, CAN lead to a snow ball effect of more and more Illegal actions. And what are the rights of the legal resident or citizens whose social security number and sometimes credit is ruined because of Illegal actions such as these? Its not always beacause those who enter Illegally want to do it. Sometimes they have no choice if they want to stay, survive, and avoid deportation. And it doesnt matter if they are here illegally from China, Bolivia , Mexico, Fiji, Australia, England, France, Saudi, Russia, Greenland, Peru, New Zealand, Canada, , Morocco, Greece,Burkina Faso , Denmark, Chad, Estonia, Hungary, Japan, or any other country in the world. That has nothing to do with being in the US ILLEGALLY.
No matter how you try to spin it.

First of all, you realize you could be killed in Canada for the eh? joke, right?

Second, congrads for now giving racist idiot Dobbs and all those other morons ammunition to use against EVEN MORE F*****G FOREIGNERS! It's interesting that the MSM will give the Minuteman practically free commercials for their crap. But not once do they ever (STORY PITCH COMING UP) talk to these Canadian media people about being immigrants. If they did, then Homeland Security would probably crack down on them, deprot them all. And then the MSM would be totally wiped out once and for all. Imagine the consequnces of that.

Funny how Dobbs always gets called racist, but the illegal immigrants he rails against exert downward pressure on the wages of the poorest and most vulnerable members of society, who are disproportionately black and Hispanic Americans.

You're the racist, my friend, and a particularly nasty representative of the species, as well.

Frostbacks!! They are all over Montana...coming over that three wire barbed wire fence like they own the damn place. Spending their currency like it was worth more than the dollar. Being polite and nice and you know they are just faking it!! Dont you just hate them, them and their smiling faces and damn money? ....Speaking their stupid inflected, heavily accented fake American English.
Saying 'please' and 'thank you' and stuff like that. God help us. And they are all socialists, too! and Some of them even speak French!!!
And, the worst thing, they are all real pale so you cant tell them from real Americans.
