Matchmakers, Speed Daters Face Tight Deadline
Registration for speed-dating events and online subscriptions to the various dating Web sites, they said, increase by 15 to 20 percent in January and February. Match.com reported a 40 percent spike in new membership compared to the slower holiday period leading up to Christmas.
"The increase in registration activity is pretty evenly split between men and women," said Craig Wax, the senior vice president and the general manager of Match.com in North America, which has headquarters in Dallas. "Love has no gender bias."
