UPDATE: The Huffington Post has learned that the New York Times will publish a front-page story on Tuesday reporting that Clinton aides fear that the nomination is "slipping from her grasp." The Times' Patrick Healy will report:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and her advisers are increasingly concerned that, after her victories in the Feb. 5 primaries, she could be on a precipitous losing streak in nomination contests this month that could endanger her competitiveness in the upcoming votes in Ohio and Texas on March 4, several aides said on Monday. Her losses last weekend in Washington, Nebraska, Louisiana and Maine have thrown the Clinton campaign into a state of anxiety not seen since her drubbing in the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 3, with major donors and supporters saying for the first time that they are deeply worried that the Democratic nomination may be slipping from her grasp.

++

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that the replacement of her campaign manager reflected a need to add more people to her campaign staff.

Former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle will remain a trusted friend and adviser, Clinton said.

"There is just too much to be done, so we had to add some more people. There really is not significant change, we really just got to get more help, we just don't have enough help," Clinton told a Chicago television news crew. Solis Doyle is a Chicago native.

Maggie Williams, a longtime Clinton confidante and former chief of staff from Clinton's days as first lady, replaced Solis Doyle.

According to Marc Ambinder of Atlantic.com, Hillary Clinton didn't know about her campaign's financial straits until after the Iowa caucuses. The Chicago Tribune goes further to charge that then campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle had been "lying" to Hillary about her campaign's financial situation. Ambinder also points out another campaign problem that appears to be solved by this weekend's staff shakeup: Maggie Williams planned to leave the campaign if her role in the chain of command was not "clarified."

Clinton herself was not informed that the campaign was in dire financial straits until after Iowa, one adviser said. For two days, Bill Clinton camped out in the campaign's Ballston, VA headquarters and poured through the numbers with Williams and other aides. Aides and advisers say that Clinton's decision to lend herself money was not made by consulting members of the senior staff and was relayed to them after-the-fact.

The relationship between Maggie Williams and Patti Solis Doyle has been described as close but acrimonious, akin to two longtime friends who have the same goal in mind but argue about how to get there. They have argued in private, and increasingly, in public settings.

Two sources said that Williams last week threatened to leave the campaign -- she had only been on a 30-day consignment -- unless the chain of command was clarified -- what one person privy to the threat called "a mutiny."

Barack Obama is the next JFK, Hillary Clinton is the next Geraldine Ferraro.

Can the clintons sue the media, the pundits for out right calling them racist when they are not there is no proof. The media pundits used the last few seconds of a tape of bill clinton saying obama stance, his record on the iraq war was a fairy tale if people thinks he is totally against the war and doesnt support it but by only showing the last seconds it leads people to think he was calling the obama campaign a fairy tale. The media knew what they were doing with that. SC was a must win for obama so they pulled out all the stops even slandering the name of an ex president. After viewing the entire clip one can see that the pundits were lying. I would say that this slander hurt the clintons reputation and career. I think they have a case.

TO: Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama February 14, 2008

Senator from New York HRC = H stands for Human and R stands for Rights And C stands for Clinton

When a Government ceases to uphold Human Rights For Its Citizens,we need to put in a new government. From American Heritage Foundation (Magazine of History). From Declaration of Independence by President Thomas Jefferson where is added we need to be concerned for citizens safety too.

People do not seem to understand what True Freedom in a Democracy means. It means when you work hard to earn money for your bicycle then Joe does not have the right to take it away from you. If in a classroom where people all would want their own way this would be chaos. A person in a classroom must take into account what is best for the class and what is best too for the individual. This is True Freedom in a Democracy. Vanza Devereaux From the Government of a Free Nation,'63

The Right to Life,Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness is misunderstood too. The Right to Life means that early man wanted to live and had to conquer a brutal society then. He wanted to provide food, clothes, housing for his family. Today people want the same Right to Live thus The Right to Life,Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Liberty means that a slave can have food and housing, but he wants more than that he wants to live his life in his own way. The Pursuit of Happiness means we have the Right to enjoy pleasures of life as music,books,radio,T.V.,education,games,
travel. Even Ecclesiastes Ch6 supports this Right to pleasures of life.

I would be "down and a little tired" too if I had to battle the entire corporate-run press that's been undercutting and eulogizing Clinton since Iowa. Even after she won all those big states on Super Tuesday, MSNBC and Fox were claiming Barack earned more delegates. The Obama News Network (formerly CNN) acknowledged that Clinton had a 100-delegate lead but interpreted that as meaning the race was neck-and-neck. Now Obama has a 25-delegate lead and everyone's claiming he's sewn up the nomination if Clinton doesn't win Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania. This isn't true, either. But who care's about the truth in Karl Rove's media dominated universe? Obama's senior speechwriter is Ben Rhodes, the brother of the head of the Fox news division. The G.O.P., which could care less about McCain, has poured millions of dollars into the Obama "agent of change" marketing machine and arranged for thousands of conservatives to cross party lines to vote for him. This is why superdelegates at the Democratic Convention are necessary - to counterbalance the Republican vote-rigging attempt. For more on the Rove strategy, see the article I've posted at thecityedition.com

Excuses, excuses. How many states has she won? If she doesn't win big in Texas, Ohio and Penn, how can she win? Oh, she can't. Typical that you can't understand we just didn't vote for Hillary. Rove had nothing to do with is. Get over it.

I wonder where Wesley Clark will go.......I hope he is not forgotten and he is in the next administration regardless. If she doesn't win the nomination....Senate Majority Leader in the future could be good...... She does have more experience than Barack Obama...

First of all, first lady doesn't count no matter how much you want it to. Second, massive failure with healthcare reform in 90's and a terrible war vote and even recently failing to vote against FISA does give her more experience than Barack. Just not the kind of experience we want.

She has more experience but she has problems with execution. If she can't effectively run her campaign what is she going to do as president.

I can see the drama coming......

If Obama wins the nomination, enthralled Americans will be instantly become drooling zombie people who run around eating you brains! If Hillary supporters want to protect themselves, they should all go out and buy my revolutionary new invention: a tin-foil helmet! Agreed. How can he support her when she refuses to release her tax returns (until she has already won the nomination). When she says she's tested and vetted, I think one thing is missing in all that vetting, and with the Clinton's history of sleazy financial doings, no one should pledge support to her until she releases the returns....

Did anyone see McCain’s speech after Obama’s? My God!! A bunch of fossils. He even used the “fired up, ready to go” slogan. How original… If O gets the Nom it will be the really old past versus the future. (plus M took $100K from Abramoff) Obama has run his campaign incredibly well. Hillary had $175 Mil. and her gal Solis-Doyle lied to HRC and lost her a bundle, it’s why she got canned. Read this article: http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200802u/patti-solis-doyle It turns out Hillary protects cronies who are loyal more than GWB. “Heck of a job (Brownie) Solis”. Hillary and McCain-MORE OF THE SAME. This is not trashing her, but it does show incompetence. We’re starting to peek behind the curtain. More will come out.

LOL! That was hilarious. It looked like the women in the background were RN's who were there in case any of those old geezers keeled over! Also, at one point, Warner was actually mouthing some of the words on the teleprompter (which had them all mesmerized throughout the speech). I was in tears from beginning to the end!

Well, it could happen, unless Hillary wins Texas big, and it's not likely. Actually McCain will get to destroy Obama in a one on one, against the republican machine. I don't think I'll be watching that debate, too many "aahhh, aahhh, I want change and you can hope for it." Quite embarrassing, O ought to put GW to shame. Maybe there ought be some
rowdy Obama supporters in the audience to boo McCain, that ought to work for you kool-aid drinkers.

Obama has run this campaign pretty well I would say, which speaks to his ability to organize and execute. He should bring these same abilitites to the government. If he can run the government as well as he is running this campaign, we should be in pretty good shape. Obama will attract the same level of talent to his administration as Clinton would, and far better than a McCain administration.

Hillary supporters you need to stop with the Cult talk. There is a valid reason Obama is kicking ass right now. He represents the future and not the past.

To those who belong to the Obama "personality
cult", if you are a serious voter, ask yourself
how is "change" policy differ from Hilary's.
I agree with the 86 yr old retired nuclear engineer in Va. today whose reason for supporting Hilary is that when answering questions, she gives a direct answer whereas
Obama simply stresses "change".
How a sloganeer solves the myriad problems facing us today? - Iraq, the economy, the no-bid contracts, the ever-increasing income gap, the soaring national debt and on and on.
What about Obama's going into Pakistan unilaterally if Musharraf after receiving intel info as to bin Laden's where
about refuses to act. Aren't you afraid that
this politically unstable country may react by using the bomb and touch off a WWIII?
Wake up from your "herd mentality"!

I couldn't agree with you more sir, of course I am a Hillary supporter because she really does have the political experience to win and hopefully save our country for just a little bit longer.
I say this because we as a society are essentially doomed, I'm just hoping that our country and planet survives until I'm gone from this world. After that you're all on your on.
Just recently read the piece on "Hillary haters" in GQ by Horowitz, I'm sure they are "Obama haters" as well...society is so inundated with information that it won't be until it is too late that we realize that we are SCREWED. The old "frog in the boiling pot of water" thing.
The thing that will kill us in the end is our climate change. that will make terrorist, Al Qaida and everything else seem petty...and the tragedy of all of this is that there is NOTHING we can do about it..think of it as a giant boulder rolling downhill, gaining mommentem as it rolls crushing everything in it's path...
If you are 30 years old or younger and have grandiose plans of raising a family, living in surburbia, retiring with your children and grandchildren, are you in for a surprise.
Other than that...Have a nice day.
