Republican Rep. Ron Paul told the Tribune this morning he will not back Sen. John McCain as his party's nominee unless the Arizona senator "has a lot of change of heart."

"I can not support anybody with the foreign policy he advocates, you know, perpetual war. That is just so disturbing to me," Paul said.
"I think it's un-American, un-Constitutional, immoral, and not Republican."

Poor thing.
It's a shame that BOTH of your candidates are going down in flames.
Don't get too stressed out now.

Ron Paul will not throw money or support to the Neocons. He is remaining in the race to the end, with hopes that any future debates will make it impossible for him to be ignored. Having someone point out the flaws in McCain's policies is pretty vital.

Debates?
How many questions do you think they'll ask wRong Paul (R-TX) at the next "debate"?
How many more "debates" do you think McBomb will agree to attend?
"Debates" tend to make 100 Year John look decrepit and crazy my friend.

This is not news to anyone who has watched a Republican debate. McCain is for perpetual war. Ron Paul is for minding our own business. As big a difference as that is, it ought to trump party loyalty.

Ron is the only true change candidate among the republicans... kucinich among the democrats!

Ron's message is really quite simple & beautiful... follow the rule of lawful laws as defined in the constitution.

The founding documents that make up the corner stones of our self-governing republic clearly make individual rights inalienable.

Our country continues to be corrupted by corrupt people, in corrupt places, with corrupt power, pushing corrupt policies, for corrupt purposes!

Just Say NO...
To Gods & Gov'ts!

America first? What a nut!
How can a Texan act like this?
Is it because he IS from Texas?
Unlike the phony drawl belly crawl carpetbagger president?

I think most of Ron Paul's positions are insane (not the war), but he does seem to actually stand for what he says. Why would he support non-Conversative psychopaths that make up the rest of the GOP nomination pool?

Kudos, to Mr. Paul

His convictions are honorable and greatly admired.

Now he should consider endorsing Senator Obama

regarding Bush's War of Choice.

It works for both of them and it will finally make

the Republican Party notice Mr. Paul. Their disdain

of him has been embarrassing.

i think dr paul did kinda: when asked once whom among the other candidates he had found appealing, he went for kucinich, then obama.

Seriously? Or are you speaking in jest?

Obama appears to have problems with consistency in issues of the Bill of Rights and what national sovereignty means. Can't say I see Ron Paul supporting him overly much.

Ron Paul is the only true conservative out there and it's too funny that the others are shunning him. There are just too many "conservative" stances. You have fiscal conservatives, social conservatives etc.... they all cannot co exist because they have different agendas. The Mepublican platform has fractured.

it's his anti-war stance. the borrow-and-spend-on-warfare ''conservatives'' can't stand a non-bully.

I like Paul, I think he'll follow HIS platform and won't be part of any waffling or plagiarism.
When they call you Dr., that means you're smart, and stuff, and can tell what's up. I think we really need some sharp people, and I hope that if Paul gets elected, that he uses some pretty exacting criteria for cabinet appointees and stuff. I think they need a straight shooter in office, everything Bush claimed to be, but without the interesting entourage of oil-pals, there. Foreign influence, foreign interests, foreign money, read Paul's platform:

Unless you address his positions on the issues (and being specific), and avoid this type of ad hominem attack, you not only lack a valid argument, but any credibility whatsoever.

Clinton, Obama & McCain should be selling used cars.

Ron Paul is the only Republican that would get my vote over almost every Democrat. Why is it that today's politicians ignore the Constitution? Look at the unconstitutional acts of Bush; and just as bad would be the lack of action of the courts or Congress to declare these actions unconstitutional. It's like they haven't even read it.

Rep. Paul, at least in recent history, has shown himself to be the most moral of the Republican candidates. The Republicans who now control the GOP have all moved so far to the right wing of politics, that if he were alive today, Pres. Reagan wouldn't even be allowed in the Republican party.
Bravo Rep. Paul.
