Here is the email I sent to The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office:
"I am writing to you as the son of a retired Philadelphia Police Officer (now deceased). The incident regarding Ryan Sterner and Deputy Marsha is the sort of behavior that used to upset my father to no end. He would argue that actions of this kind taken by other men and women in uniform makes the jobs of decent, responsible and reasonable Law Enforcement personnel that much harder. It is just these sorts of incidents that create greater animosity between the public and the Officers who actually take their calling of serving and protecting seriously. He would be ashamed and outraged, and I believe he would want you to know that. Hopefully, truly appropriate disciplinary actions (other than paid leave - ie. paid vacation) will be taken against both the Deputy that dumped the paraplegic man onto the floor and the Deputy seen walking away from the incident laughing, so that public can be reassured that Law Enforcement Officers are on the side of the average citizen and not out to humiliate, degrade or abuse them.
Sincerely,
M****** M****"
Here is the e-mail I sent:
"Sheriff, mattymoo (and a few others) have no sense of humor. Glad to see that you and your deputies manage to keep things light at the jail; and can still get a chuckle out of an otherwise thankless job."
It's always Florida, isn't it?
no
So much has been said lately about Florida, not necessarily all good. Looks like they just added another reason to ridicule their state. These actions against this man were inhuman! The actions these public servants took is appalling, and they should be terminated and tried and convicted for abuse. It would seem that Hillsborough County owes this man money and so much more.
If your surprised by this, surprised in the ways some people are treated by the police, then you've been blind or chose to remain dumb.
No, Not only in Tampa.
this kinda thing has been happening behind closed doors in greater and lesser degree's for a very very long time.
I’ve seen the video of this incident and I am extremely appalled at what these people did to this poor guy. Why are the 3-4 other officers (who all happen to also be BLACK by the way) that were involved with this are on “administrative leave with pay”? These people shouldn’t be receiving any type of pay at all!! What’s the deal with giving these officers a free vacation for what they did!
Notice the black female officer behind the window appears to deliberately walk back in order to point and laugh at this poor guy as he is being dumped. It’s no surprise that there was no incident report or no type of report of improper conduct filed. He’s a white guy that was abused by several black officers. A black person isn’t going to report another black person. I bet that if another officer of a different race was involved, the issue would have been reported or not even happened at all. It’s become just ridiculous with how some of these workers in government jobs treat people these days.
Racist asshole.
There was a white guy there to. He did nothing to help. In fact he was laughing.
Florida just keeps on impressing.
When the chief officer of our country (Twig) has an IQ of 91, can we expect he'll push for any higher standard?
This is the MORAL decay of America!
Thank you conservatives!
The BushCo example now leads the entire country.
EXACTLY!
I think that the real story here is about the video... how did it get out? This happened two weeks ago - perhaps the Sheriff's department responded to a subpeona with no clue as to the contents? I just have to wonder because, obviously, if the perps thought that they had anything to lose from doing this on camera they wouldn't have done it...and if the force was truly dirty (I suspect so given the nonchalance of all involved)they would have conveniently "lost" the tapes..
I am glad that these sad excuses for humans are, at least for the moment, on suspension though they should be fired and never allowed to be responsible for another human being.
I have to wonder when "enhanced interrogation techniques" will be implemented by police forces since the Administration seems so comfortable with using it...
After his humiliation and possible injury a law suit should set him up for life. I hope so. Sue for many millions.
Wow! They'll throw the book at and that deputy, and the book probably says she gets a month suspension with pay.
White cops would shove something up the Quad's rectum or maybe rip out his catheter. Let's face it. If cops were forced to take the MMPI they would all fail. They are psychopaths in uniform.
Wow.It's pretty incredible that you know what kind of abuse a cop'll perpetrate based on their race.
Two words: Amadu Diala.
This is an appalling video. But where is the story? What is the story - who is this guy, why is he there, why did they do that to him? And I'm NOT blaming the victim! I just want to know what the hell was going on. This is the kind of shitty reporting we smack the MSM with. Huffpo, do better.
