GOP Rep Says He Feels "Physically Ill" Over McCain, Then Endorses Him

The Washington Post reports:

At a private meeting of conservatives in the House of Representatives last month, Rep. Patrick T. McHenry (N.C.) ridiculed Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), asking why his fellow right-wing activists "shouldn't be physically ill at the prospects of a President McCain."

On Monday, McHenry -- apparently feeling fine -- joined the chorus of voices calling for conservatives to unify around McCain as the likely Republican nominee, and he accused former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee of waging a pointless nomination battle because he is "in there for himself."

If they keep up that sort of talk, they're going to start sounding like the Democrats when they argue over Clinton and Obama.

"The Republican philosophy might be summarized thus: To hell with principle; what matters is power, and that we have it, and that they do not." - Pat Buchanan

These guys are hilarious. After Rove and Bush it is great to see the Republican party and the conservative movement implode.

"physically ill" is nothing when compared to being DEAD...which what many more human beings will be should John McNuggets get his wish for a 100-year war in Iraq. Consider the following:

Had the warmongering John McCain been running for president in 1968, we'd have only 60 more years to go in VIETNAM!

God, I had forgotten all about McHenry, the gay munchkin. Didn't someone drop a house filled with naked campaign workers on him?

Do you really expect a Republican politician to: 1) make sense or 2) have integrity? Oh, my....

Actually what make him sick was the pomade he uses on his hair so he can look like a trent lott clone..

These people shouldn't even be allowed out in public, much less public office.

McHenry is a little twerp anyway-anybody that expects this guy to act with any kind of ethical conviction hasn't seen him in action. He's the kind of guy who is great in a mob fight-pushing his way to the forefront with his righteous indignation.

Not much surprise here. Last month there was a chance Mittens would win the nomination and McCain was challenging the neocon's preferred nominee. Now that McCain is inevitable, it's time to fall in line.

I'm sure he'll feel better once McCain loses to Clinton or Obama.

He was so ill he threw up, then he ate his own vomit.

Just like my Jack Russel terrier.

But Repubs usually don't clean up their own messes.

At least the enemies of America are coming out of the closet now. Those who support McCain are not true Republicans. The party will be divided and the rats who jumped ship will be floating in the cesspool that they've created.

Ironic (or a Freudian slip?) that you used the phrase "coming out of the closet." As a gay person, I have pretty strong gaydar and McHenry is just one in a long long line of republican closet cases (going ALL THE WAY UP the food chain) that are "enemies of America coming out of the closet now." Pattie and her ilk better start planning their post-political careers now. Just use The Google, folks. I'd be laughing my ass off if it weren't for the fact that they are so disgusting.
