Chris Matthews: "I Felt This Thrill Going Up My Leg" As Obama Spoke

Last night during MSNBC's Potomac Primary coverage, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann were discussing Barack Obama's speech. Matthews — who, in the past, has both cried over an Obama speech and compared him to Jesus — described exactly what happens to him when Obama speaks:

I have to tell you, you know, it's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often.

Later during MSNBC's coverage, resident anchorman/funnyman Brian Williams made fun of Matthews, saying, "let's talk about that feeling Chris gets up his leg when Obama talks." Watch:

so do 3/4 people listening to an Obama speach. it is why he is so popular.

people get chills from music, speaches, moments in films. it happens all of the time.

in this case Chris Matthews was being completely honest and didn't think of the way it could be taken humorously.

shit... sometimes i've gotten chills up my spine, arms, legs, head, chest. it's the combination of music or the rythme of a speach and what is happening or being talked about.

most people had major chills running thru their body when Mel Gibson yelled 'freedom' just before being executed in Braveheart.

it's funny that Chris didn't catch how it could sound for him to say he got a chill up his leg. because he forgot that the news has been taken over by children who would immediately leap to making it about sex. if i could count how many time that white haired dipshit on 360 something on CNN makes some sex joke... it's like watching parody news, but it's not parody and not funny... it's like a real life Idiocracy.

hopefully, people give Chris a friendly jab about making such an unintentional joke, but some of the people here are being dicks about it and taking it too far.

The reason people are ridiculing CM is not that "a chill" is an uncommon experience, it's his pattern of "little gay boy" comments that he gets away with because they aren't heterosexual. Most of us are hoping to vote for Obama, not blow him. If CM talked that way about women he'd be out on his hungry whatsit.
