I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Chris Matthews

There's been a last-minute change announced for tonight's Washington Press Club Foundation Dinner. Tony Snow, who was originally scheduled to serve as the events emcee, has had to pull out of the event, citing a case of the flu. He'll be replaced by the man with the trembling legs, MSNBC's Chris Matthews. The Politico's Anne Schroeder notes the irony:

Now, interestingly the whole reason this club started decades ago was because the National Press Club wouldn't allow women to join. Women in general is a huge theme for this dinner. And now, the guy who bails them out of trouble is Matthews, who mere weeks ago was being picketed by the National Organization for Women for his derogatory remark about HRC.

Will Matthews' attribute the success of the WPC's female membership to their philandering husbands? Not if he wants to mount a successful charm offensive he won't? Instead, expect about eleventy billion references to Cat Ballou, punctuated by scattered, Obama-induced orgasms.

i am so sick of chris matthews bashing... media matters has a page dedicated to every move he makes, this is intimidation... so much for the free press.

found this at atlantic monthly; now i know where media matters is coming from... hillary is an advisor.

... media matters obviously has an interest in hillary that transcends their purported 'watchdog position.'

Clinton helped John Podesta found a think tank, the Center for American Progress, which serves as a kind of Democratic administration-in-waiting. She has supported another, the American Democracy Institute, run by veteran Clinton allies. She has advised a watchdog group, Media Matters for America, that keeps tabs on the vast right-wing conspiracy and is run by David Brock, the reborn conservative hatchet man who helped launch the Paula Jones scandal before he renounced his past and became a liberal activist. Clinton has also advised the Democracy Alliance, an organization of the party’s richest donors that is aiming to raise $200 million for party-building efforts. While each group purports to work for the Democratic Party generally, and will support the next presidential nominee regardless of who it may be, among the possible contenders Clinton is at the very least the first among equals.

Plenty of women have been succuessful without husbands that compulisively cheat. Hillary Clinton isn't one of them. She enabled her husband's conduct, and villified the women he wanted. She got as far as she has because of it. There are women who resent that.
