Clinton Mistakes

Politico:

New Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams held a conference call with bundlers today at which she scoffed at the notion that Clinton has no mathematical path to victory, noting that some states haven't even allocated delegates yet, a bundler who was on the call says.

"March 4 is when our movement meets their movement," my source on the call quotes her saying.

"We didn't concentrate on small states".

The little people again. When Hilary retires from this race, she can play a banker on a Capitol One ad, eating shrimp and smoking a big cigar. I bet she'd like that, back in her proper place in life, getting what she deserves for being the royalty.

No, no, Hilary, becoming President of the USA is no easy matter. You were tested and people found you wanting. You never scrubbed a floor or sewed a rip in your jacket. It showed.

The president of the UNITED STATES must be president of all the United States. They all count, even Rhode Island and Deleware. And Idaho, and Alaska. And yes, even South Carolina. And Kansas.

The strategy mistake was running Hillary Clinton. Clinton was the mistake, not the people that worked their asses off to make and remake and remake and remake Clinton into someone the public could accept as a candidate.

In typical Clinton style, they turn and blame others for their shortcomings. Is it a vast Democratic Conspiracy that has her loosing what she thought she deserved?

That the Clinton campaign turns to blame the hard working staff for Bill and Hillary's mistakes they are telling you how the will run the WH.

She will never hold her husband accountable for his bad behavior. She will blame others, probably her staff, when she is unable to move a policy forward, she will have a revolving door of advisers and cabinet members. As she or Bill make mistakes or get caught in something, they will have to be blamed and fired. I hope Paul Krugman is aware of this fact.

They do not and have not taken responsibility for their actions. We have had literally decades of Presidents unwilling to take responsibility. Decades of dirt, lying, cheating the American people. It has hurt this country nearly to destruction.

Enough is enough. Time to move on. It is time for all of us to take responsibility for the direction of the country. To own up to the FACT that the Clintons will not bring us what we are yearning for. They can't. We have learned and so we can not ignore the fact that Hillary has not grown at all from the mistakes of her past. Therefore she will not and can not move us forward.

Time we take some responsibility, stop blaming and do the right thing.

Reject Hillary Clinton. Accept Barak Obama and give him the support and political will he will need to do what he has set out to do.

...Outstanding point.

Best post today.

Its sad and embarrassing watching the Hillary supporters.

All their comments are focused on "fairness" and excuses.

They say the Media is responsible.

They say the staff is responsible.

I have question, "When is it when the Clinton's are responsible?"

No one made Bill Clinton answer that question in the ignorant way he chose to in SC.

No one made Hillary wait so long to congratulate OBAMA for sweeping WINS Tuesday.

This isn't media spin, this is what THEY do.

...it pissed off the entire AA vote what billy said in SC.

Is that the media's fault too?

One of the biggest problems in this country is personal responsibility.

Their are veterans who don't have legs but everyday the give it their best shot, do they make excuses?

Hillary you are not a leader.

You are not even a genuine Senator, you are not from New York, remember?

The time has come to turn the page.

Jacee,
A refreshing change to the typical left wing talking points and mantra. You demonstrate thought, intelligence and more than that honesty. I believe that if WE the people on both sides of the aisle held more of both of our parties to a place of accountability, we might actually make a difference. In fact, I believe that is part of what is happening with Obama. You keep this up I may be the first conservative to sign on to your fan club. Rock on!
As for the Repubs.....ouch. Too many blind endorsements for W in the name of 911 without accountability. It is what it is now, but I am fed up with the Hypocrytical right wing all talk no walk BS. The Repubs have a new generation on their way right now but it is a bit too early...so somehow they think they owe it to "more of the same McCain." What a campaign slogan, huh?

Let's see what the problem is. Patti Solis Doyle has been thrown overboard bercause Hillary is losing. Patti is blamed for Hillary's concentration on the big states only, while Obama ran a total campaign of inclusiveness. (Hillary is sticking to that plan, by the way! It now seems to be -- not only her best bet, but her only bet.) But Patti is blamed for the failure. Consider though what it says to us if it is true! That would mean that Clinton was "fooled" again. (Recall her being fooled on those pro-war votes?) If this is really true, I'd say that she gets fooled too much! We don't need another fool in the White House!
Yet the Clinton camp tells us that she is a great manager, so we should allow her to run our nation. Are we also fools?

Then, too, they keep telling us that Hillary's strength in in the Latino community. (Never mind that she has lost there in recent voting!) What a time to pick a Latina as her scapegoat! Do you think some of the Texas voters might be interested in this? But of course, HRC is a great manager and -- well, you already know the rest.

Agreed. The Clinton's decades of blaming and blaming and throwing people overboard and lying has hopefully run its course. It is amazing to me that they have lasted this long.

What can't Clinton supporters get??? What can't they remember???Bill and Hillary Clinton ran a ugly campaign in 92, with slimy headlines and scandal, we all went through that with them. Forgave them, lied a little for them. Then 8 years of humiliating Democrats, lying to Democrats, the Impeachment. Yes, the I word. Bill and Hillary lied and blamed away their responsibility and it cost the Democratic Party the election in 01. It lost the Democrats the Congress and the Supreme Court. Everything that Bush has done can be traced back to the Clintons. The destruction has been intolerable.

And still you have these people out here continuing to excuse, blame and lie for them. As if there was no other choice, a better choice.

Get a grip Clinton supporters. Hillary can be a Senator as long as she likes. Bill can travel the world and golf with the Bushes as long as he likes.

We on the other hand need to shut this chapter of ugly, humiliating, dysfunctional politics and have the political will to move on.

Enough is enough. No more.

There is a choice, a better choice. Obama 2008

Strategy mistakes?

1) Assuming everyone would attribute her husband's accomplishments to her. Experienced? Ready on Day One? Puh-lease. Joe Biden and Chris Dodd had far more experience than she did. If I need delicate surgery, and the surgeon is unavailable, please don't send me the surgeon's spouse.
2) Thinking all she had to do was make nasty, snotty remarks about her opponents, and everyone would fall in line. And if that didn't work, getting the thugs on the campaign staff to dig for dirt and threaten people. And if THAT didn't work, have her husband make vile accusations (Nevada) and play the race card (South Carolina) until it did.
3) Shrowding everything is pre-scandal, semi-mystery for the umpteen kabillionth time. Hiding your tax returns, your donor list, your Chinese connections, etc. just makes everyone, Democrats and otherwise, think this is more of the same.
4) Pulling out the victim angle when all else fails. People saw through both the tears in New Hampshire AND the outrage over the pimp remark (which translated to Hillary chafing over the implication that Chelsea is a whore, YET Hillary had no problem with the implication that Lewinsky was one...and Monica was younger then than Chelsea is now).
5) Failing to leave that scumbag Bill 10 years ago when he embarassed her worldwide. That essentially authorized the actions of a serial abuser of women, all the while claiming that she wanted to protect the rights of women and be the first female candidate for president.

6) The I word-Impeachment. Based on LIES and BLAMING. He lied to the American people, he lied to Al Gore, he lied.
7) Current investigations into campaign finance corruption. Yes-CURRENT.

Are Clinton supporters so limite4d in their thinking as to not know that all of these points and MORE will be brought to bare in a general election?

Democrats, we must, we have to hold our own politicians accountable and clean our own closet.

If you still support Clinton you will have to state why, for what cause? She can not win a general election. She was never able to win a general election.

Do not let the Clintons drag our Party down into the desert for another 8 YEARS. It is irresponsible, it is NOT the right thing to do.

There is a better way, the candidate that has proven that he can win in all states, red, white and blue. He can beat McCain, he can restore our party's pride and direction. It is not about some policy that we all agree in, it is about PRIDE.

Get some pride. Lets shut the Clinton humiliation, lies and blaming down once and for all.

Time for a new day. Obama 2008

a. Hillary doesn't have a movement. at most she has the "establishment", and that is starting to leave her.

b.Hillary doesn't have volunteers. they pay people to do things for them.

c.they didn't plan for small states because they thought they'd have this thing locked up by South Carolina.

if their plan to success is to use non-existent volunteers in a non-existent movement, things are looking good for Obama.

...it is poetic justice that they have been destroyed by NEO-CON radio after Billy Clint signed the TEL-COM law that allowed these nut-jobs more power and basically annointed them as kings of the airways.

Even now the limbaughs, etc are on 90% of the stations and progressive media is barely available.

The Clintons are responsible for that law and now they are paying for it.

In my opinion, the race is a dead heat and differences between either candidate isn't much if anything. They have made the race based on personality and not on issues.

Political campaigns spend thousands, even millions of dollars to acquire good mailing lists.

Last year, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took the unusual step of renting out some of her lists. The transaction once again highlights the Clintons' connections to a businessman who now faces questions from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The policy differences between Barack and Hillary are negligible, to the point that most voters would not notice, nor care on face value.

However, the major difference is that Hillary based her campaign mainly on experience. Which in comparison to Barack's message, is a rather mundane characteristic.

Barack, on the other hand, took advantage of the emotional mood of the country.

Very specifically, nearly 8 years of the Bush White House have been characterized by everything from misinformation, to endless wars, to corporate greed, to economic recession, to international criticism and to near national sorrow for our state of affairs.

Now comes along a young, bright, articulate and energetic candidate offering a message based on the one personal trait that is arguably a common denominator among a majority of people, here and abroad: HOPE.

Given that backdrop, of where we are versus where we are yearning to go as a Nation, which message would ring louder: Experience or Hope?

Experience is always more important.

That's why I support Obama.

Look at his experience in the Senate.

Look at what he has done in his campaign.

This experience is the right experience.

Hillary's strategy mistakes:

Underestimating her opponents

Underestimating black people

Underestimating the American people

Injecting racism and sexism

Never accepting the blame for her own mistakes and decisions, i.e. the Iraq war...

Not being transparant (records, tax returns...)

Using old style tactics of hate and division

Everyone should learn from this New York Yankees style of campaigning.

She "assumed" that we all just loved her so much that we would just annoint her as the President.

No, no, no.

What you reap is what you sew.

Isn't it ironic that lowely common Americans know this buy she does not?

Maybe she'll fire someone else for that.

The biggest block to Hillary Clinnton's gaining the nomination -- and if she does that, of winninng in the fall -- is Hillary Clinton. She is not a uniter, but plays on differences much like Bush. She did not draw out the youth vote; Obama did that, but she doesn't mind getting the credit. She has changed her message a few times. At first, it was her "experience" which didn't seem to stasnd up to scrutiny whenn people asked about those errors in judgment (if that was what they were.) Then it was her leadership, but we have seen how flawed that was by her managerial failures. She has consistently used her husband's record when it seemed to suit her, but ran away from it when she needed to show herself strong and indepenndent. And people wondered how she could have it both ways. I don't believe that Bill has done anything she didn't approve of beforehand; however, when his attackms backfired, she isn't responsible! And the contest hasn't been all that clean, except for the other candidate refusing to play the dirty game. I note that in an interview in California, he went out of his way to say tghat in his opinion there was nothing wrong or racist in one of the assertions made by the Clinton camp, merely an attempt to state how important they viewed the presidency. Now that was statesmanlike and it stopped the bickering.
Bottom line: Barack Obama will be a better president than Hillary knows how to be, and better than Bill was.
