Clinton Wisconsin Debates

Sen. Hillary Clinton is "scrambling" to stave off a defeat in Wisconsin, AP reports, and has launched her first negative TV ad hitting Obama for not debating her in the state.

The ad "begun Wednesday asks why Obama hasn't joined her in accepting an invitation to debate at Marquette University. 'Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than have to answer questions,' the narrator says before claiming that only her health care plan covers everyone and only her economic plan freezes mortgage foreclosures." Watch it:

The Politico is reporting a new edge to Hillary's rhetoric:

"There is a big difference," she said. "I am in the solutions business, my opponent is in the promises business."

"We need real results, not more rhetoric. We need to get back in the solutions business. That's why I have a plan that will cover every American with health insurance, stop these foreclosures and put people back to work," she said, adding that she and edwards agreed on need for moratorium on foreclosures, while Obama doesn't.

"It's not the questions, it's the answers, and the answers get right to the heart of who is ready on day one to be the president and commander in chief of the United States."

"I have solutions to these economic challenges. The question today is does Sen. Obama? Because a plan that fails to provide universal healthcare, fails to address the housing crisis and fails to immediately start creating good paying jobs in America again, will not turn the economy around and provide the real relief that our people need," she said.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama has released a mailer in Ohio hitting Clinton on NAFTA. But the literature uses a quote that has been widely criticized as bogus.

It's not a direct quote from Clinton, but a paraphrase from a September 2006 article in Newsday -- "Clinton thinks NAFTA has been a boon to the economy, but voted against the Central American-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement, saying it would drive jobs offshore." No evidence has surfaced that Clinton ever claimed that NAFTA was a "boon."

I hope he never has to talk to other foreign leaders...since he doesn't like debating, he could just tell them "I'm spending more time with the American people". Makes me warm, fuzzy, and it feels like things crawl up my inner thigh when he talks dirty like that. More change, more hope, more moments to seize. He'll win and the future will be bright and shiny... or he'll win and screw it all up.

Frankly, given the state of the world Bush is leaving, I'm surprised so many people want to get this man in there so he can fail. Would've happened to Hillary too and at least there would be a way to let the venom out easily. If he lets the country down... oh, that's right, he's perfect. Don't attack him, lest you be branded with the Scarlet "R" letter.

Yes you can!, but you don't have to debate any issues for those still a bit apprehensive about your candidacy. Keep talking, don't worry about answering questions. It kept Bush going.

They've already has 18 debates with 2 more scheduled. Anybody who actually watched MSNBC or CNN or Fox during the evening should already know who they support by now. Most of the population who doesn't couldn't careless if there is another.

They have only had one head-to-head debate. So with two more scheduled, that will make three.

As for "most of the population who doesn't couldn't careless [sic] if there is another," on what data do you base this information?

I watch debates because it provides a forum where I can see candidates formulating ad hoc answers to policy questions. Debate performance reveals a lot about a political candidate. I find it interesting that Obama has done very well recently--we haven't seen him say anything except give pre-scripted teleprompter speeches since the CNN debate before Super Tuesday.

MORE CLINTON CORRUPTION: Clinton Campaign Sold Donor List to Bill Clinton Financier

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18958566

Hillary Clinton's campaign apparently sold or rented its donor list to one of the largest brokerage firms for mailing lists in the country, InfoUSA, as reported by NPR.

To everyone here who made the mistake of registering at Clinton's website, I am truly sorry.

Let's see if she and her grotesque husband are willing to destroy the Democratic Party to maintain her ego-trip past the tipping point.

Hopefully, Obama will wipe her out in Texas and Ohio and Pennsylvania, so she can't BS her way into the nomination via corrupt SuperDelegates.

If she and Billy steal the nomination from Obama in the smoke-filled rooms, I will NEVER vote for a Democrat again, as long as I live!!!

No, Lisette, this isn't true. She is going to Wisconsin. I just read that she is about to spend at least 3 days up there.

She didn't come to New Orleans though. I really thought she should have - in light of that little problem we have with the federal levee system and all. I know the candidates have to travel where the votes are, and they ALL have to schedule according to where the polls show them having a chance, but New Orleans seemed like a unique case...all-round good national P.R. for any candidate who showed up...

A democratic dooms day scenario… The primaries conclude with Obama clinging to a 50-vote lead. The majority of the overwhelmingly white Super Delegates have been persuaded by the HRC camp to align with them and she is declared the nominee. The Obama camp is outraged and thousands of youths and Africa-Americans take to the streets demanding an end to racism. The world community smugly points out another example of American hypocrisy and TV sets everyone show scenes of rioting and burning buildings. The U.S. stock market and foreign markets plummet.

If she steals the nomination that belongs to Obama, she will lose the general election worse than McGovern did - she won't carry a single state.

And I certainly hope Obama doesn't even consider running with her - she's radioactive!

With Hillary it is simple:
she voted for the Iraq war
she voted for every expansion of the war
she voted for cluster bombs (2006)
she voted to open an opportunity for the Iran war

and, finally,

she voted for immunity for illegal wiretapping (2008)

(skipped a vote on banning torture, but her friend Mccain was there to vote against the ban).

Did I read THAT correctly?----

"Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than have to answer questions."

Perhaps Hillary is HOPING that most of America DID NOT see the other 18 debates. Her accusation IS PRECISELY WHAT SHE HAS BEEN DOING--NOT ANSWERING QUESTIONS.

Sounds like we are taking the low road again. School room stuff instead of logic. For starter their were many candidates in the beginning so it was hard to really compare each one closely. Now there are two and we want to see just how they differ on many of the compeling issues of today. Is that so unreasonable? We have a lot of problems that we need to have resolved and these kind of comments bring nothing of essence to the table for discussion. We are picking a president, do you not want to be informed as to how they will handle each and every issue that they will be faced with? This is not voting for the class president, we have got to make the right choice on substance not air. How else can you do that if you do not have a debate with the two remaining candidates? I really worry about how much thought some people have put into this election, this is not a game to trash people who disagree with you. Please take this to a higher plain, some of the comments I've seen a childish and juvenile.

The weirdest part, for me, is that Clinton is channelling Edwards:

"she and edwards agreed on need for moratorium on foreclosures, while Obama doesn't."

Other than the fact that the quotation is practically unintelligible, it seems as if Clinton is pandering for the Edwards endorsement by pointing out what she sees as their similarities.

Ick.

Found this by googling

"Hillary Clinton Thought NAFTA Was A "Boon" To The Economy. According to a Newsday issues rundown, "Clinton thinks NAFTA has been a boon to the economy."

Hillary Clinton Said NAFTA Was A Victory For President Clinton, Would Lead To An Economic Improvement. In 1996, on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Clinton "touted the president's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region." In her memoir, Clinton wrote, "Senator Dole was genuinely interested in health care reform but wanted to run for President in 1996. He couldn't hand incumbent Bill Clinton any more legislative victories, particularly after Bill's successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA." And according to a Newsday issues rundown in 2006, "Clinton thinks NAFTA has been a boon to the economy"

"NYT THURSDAY: Clinton's advisers acknowledged it would be difficult to catch up in race for pledged delegates even if she succeeded in winning 3 states on which she is most pinning her hopes: Ohio and Texas in March and Pennsylvania in April. Dem party's rules would be decided obstacle in efforts to catch up to Obama before voting phase of nominating process ends later in spring" -Drudge

It will be quite interesting to see what the NYTimes article has to say. One thing is for sure, this will be the first time I have seen some truth come out of her (their) campaign.

Does anyone here know English? Good God, people, the "boon" quote is an WORD-COINING taken from the use of the word "boon" in a Newsweek interpretation of Hillary's opinion on NAFTA. It is not a direct quote! The Obama ad is therefore correct and not negative; it is a fact-based criticism of her. I sincerely hope our children will become far more educated than this "journalist" after Obama takes office ... sheesh.

Guilt-ridden libs trying to affirmative-action an air-headed empty suit into the White House, while leaving America's first Black President & his adoring wife in the dust.
