Clinton Wisconsin Debates

Sen. Hillary Clinton is "scrambling" to stave off a defeat in Wisconsin, AP reports, and has launched her first negative TV ad hitting Obama for not debating her in the state.

The ad "begun Wednesday asks why Obama hasn't joined her in accepting an invitation to debate at Marquette University. 'Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than have to answer questions,' the narrator says before claiming that only her health care plan covers everyone and only her economic plan freezes mortgage foreclosures." Watch it:

The Politico is reporting a new edge to Hillary's rhetoric:

"There is a big difference," she said. "I am in the solutions business, my opponent is in the promises business."

"We need real results, not more rhetoric. We need to get back in the solutions business. That's why I have a plan that will cover every American with health insurance, stop these foreclosures and put people back to work," she said, adding that she and edwards agreed on need for moratorium on foreclosures, while Obama doesn't.

"It's not the questions, it's the answers, and the answers get right to the heart of who is ready on day one to be the president and commander in chief of the United States."

"I have solutions to these economic challenges. The question today is does Sen. Obama? Because a plan that fails to provide universal healthcare, fails to address the housing crisis and fails to immediately start creating good paying jobs in America again, will not turn the economy around and provide the real relief that our people need," she said.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama has released a mailer in Ohio hitting Clinton on NAFTA. But the literature uses a quote that has been widely criticized as bogus.

It's not a direct quote from Clinton, but a paraphrase from a September 2006 article in Newsday -- "Clinton thinks NAFTA has been a boon to the economy, but voted against the Central American-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement, saying it would drive jobs offshore." No evidence has surfaced that Clinton ever claimed that NAFTA was a "boon."

Pretty good cartoon in the Charlotte paper this AM.

Obama handing Uncle Sam a tiny slip of paper.

"Is this your business card?" asked Uncle Sam.

"No, it's my resume," answered Obama.

(Probably written on only one side.)

I think the thing to remember is that Obama has a good record, which is not extensive because he is still young.

Even so, Obama has more experience than Abraham Lincoln had when he ran for the presidency.

That was in the mid 1800s. Want to join the 21st Century? We need someone with a better grasp of the issues and a deep knowledge of foreign and domestic policy. We need Hillary.

Instead of helping poor people in Chicago he should have been a corporate lawyer while his wife ran for Governor.

Interesting you'd ask.

The Top 100 radio announcers for the past six months were listed today ; Rush as usual a solid number one followed as always by Hannity in second.

"Rush will be Number One as long as he broadcasts," stated the President of the ratings company.

I'm sure that Randi "Central Park" Rhodes & Al "I find myself funny" Franken are on the list somewhere, but they were not mentioned.

In fact, I don't recall Airless America being mentioned at all.

Yeah. What little there is to see.

His wife's is much more interesting; a sterling promotion & named to a board of Directors IMMEDIATELY after Hussein became Senator.

Coincidences, I know.

You might have misread it. The latest poll has Obama at 50 and Hillary at 39.

That said, one should pay more attention to trends, not a single poll, IMO.

If I were Obama I would agree to a Wisconsin debate on one condition, she disclose her tax records that she is hiding (unless she becomes the nominee)...Hmmmmm what does Hill have to hide...omg, more of the same from the Clintons surprise, surprise, surprise and the sheep just keep following....get a brain, grow up and read something for yourself instead of sitting at the kitchen table waiting to be spoonfed everything you parrot.

Hillary's ad isn't negative at all. Anyone who thinks it is better just bury their heads in the sand when the Republicans start in. The only candidate who has been repeatedly visciously attacked by the Republican machine and survived is Hillary. Obama won't know what hit him and by them, McCain will have won the White House. Get off Hillary's ass, people. She is the Dems only hope.

After watching Clinton and Obama debate many, many times, the voters aren't going to have much sympathy with Hillary's complaint.

She is sprialing out of control, her campaign is toast, sinking like the titanic and Queen Hill is waiting for us all to kiss her ring...not buying it...game over and that is gonna be soon.

Yeah, the big old bad "republican machine", who's afraid of the big bad swiftboaters. Inspite of their bad asses, they had to steal 2 elections. The only thing Obama and his supporters have to be concerned about, are the voting machines. Only lunatics give a damn about what these swiftboaters say.

ABC News' Teddy Davis Reports: A top adviser to John McCain said Wednesday that he will step down from the Arizona senator's presidential campaign if the presumed GOP nominee faces Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in the general election.

"I would simply be uncomfortable being in a campaign that would be inevitably attacking Barack Obama," said McCain adviser Mark McKinnon in an interview with NPR's "All Things Considered." "I think it would be uncomfortable for me, and I think it would be bad for the McCain campaign."

"I am in the solutions business, my opponent is in the promises business."

Hillary spends so much time talking about being ready on day one, having the solutions, having more substance than Obama-- she doesn't get around to saying what this substance is. I've heard her stump speech. It's boring *and* it lacks depth. She just *projects* the air of being detail-oriented, but saying "sub-prime loan crisis" doesn't make you an expert.

Claiming she is named after Sir Edmund Hillary

Those are just for starters...she has real substantive plans! As though her position on subprime loans is going to help anyone one year from now...

It is a really good show.
