Hillary Echoes Rudy: "I'm Tested. I'm Ready. Let's Make It Happen!"

Politico   |  Ben Smith   |   February 13, 2008 02:16 PM

There have been some stories, including a good one by Politico's Jeanne Cummings, comparing Hillary's strategy to Rudy Giuliani's -- not a good thing, though her campaign points out that she, unlike Rudy, has won a lot of states, and a lot of delegates.

A veteran Rudy-watcher, though, was surprised to hear a Giuliani echo in Clinton's speech in El Paso last night.

"I'm tested. I'm ready. Let's make it happen," she said.

The slogan for Giuliani's ill-fated relaunch: "Tested. Ready. Now."

A word of advice to the Obama & Clinton campaigns & their supporters... On who WON Texas?....

The process has two steps. First, folks vote. 126 delegates will be accorded proportionally via state senate district. Then, when polls close, they caucus in more than 1,000 precincts.

At the caucus, attendees chose the identity of the delegate and the presidential candidate that the delegate is supposed to represent. These delegates are sent to a "senatorial convention" a few weeks later, during which the final math is worked out and the actual delegate slate for the convention is chosen.

67 delegates will be chosen this way.

Dont Mess With Texas

Make sure you don't count them chickens before they hatch...

Which candidate will jump the gun & say I won Texas?

Hillary, if tested, would have turned down her annual pay raise. She should have voted against
all of those things Bush wanted even though her voice would not have mattered but it would have made a huge difference to the voters. Her latest slap in our face was her abstaining from the Dodd Amendment, the FISA Bill. She has proven that she is all talk and no action.
Bashes Bush but enabled him all along. How is that for hypocrite?

Err...Heads up to anyone donating to Sen. Hillary Clinton... This is not good.... Info you provided may be "rented out" By the Clinton campaign to InfoUSA

Political campaigns spend thousands, even millions of dollars to acquire good mailing lists.

Last year, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took the unusual step of renting out some of her lists. The transaction once again highlights the Clintons' connections to a businessman who now faces questions from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Im tested...The first test Hill is to beat Obama, this test you seem to be failing horribly.

I'm ready to go on day 1...your first 365 days will be spent repaying favors for the backroom deals you and your husband has promised while buying votes.

Why are you exempt from showing your tax returns? You owe this much to your supporters as well as the undecided voters.

how many different messages and slogans is that now? i can't keep up.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:48 PM on 02/13/2008

That rhetoric is not working, and I don't know why she keeps repeating it. It actually sound rediculous for her to say she's ready to go on day one. What, if Obama wins, is the theory that he'll take a vacation in the Bahamas for two weeks immediately after taking the oath of office? That "day one" slogan in really stupid. Same with "tested...ready" By my estimation, she's been tested and found wanting as a result of the "test" on most occassions. Add that to a grating, shouting speaking style and you get some insight into why her campaign is floundering.

I also have noticed she is cackling less recently. I have tried to figure out why but it has to be that she sees the future and hates what she sees or someone told her it turns people way off to hear it? I know she spent a bunch of money on a voice coach to help her keep her voice with all the talking and yelling and to have it be more pleasant sounding but the cackle is what makes me feel like the chaulk board screech all through the body painful....

She actually thinks her experience is important so let us examine it on the most important issue she faced involving war and peace. She voted to give George Bush a blank check to invade a country which contrary to her assertions then and now posed no threat to the United States. So much for her experience.

Day 1. Day 1. Day 1. Day 1. Isn't time to change the message? On Day 1 Hillary will be in the Seante with McCain.

Rudy's test was keeping all the mistresses and wives straight and watching a whole lotta baseball while others cleared the towers site and now suffer and die from the lying woman who told them all the air was safe around the area. Rudys did know to show up for the photo ops. Hillary being tested is a bit more strange. Was it while she was doing charity work at Wal Mart while on their board? How about being the govn'r wife? Maybe the tests were staying married to a husband with pants unzipped and his mistress abilities? I didn't see any testing going on but that when they were in the White House.Obama has been in public office for 12 years to her 8 so maybe the testing was in her mind....after all she thought she would say I will be president and it would be so. I work with psych pts all the time who think they are others like god/mary/Jesus/elvis etc.

...Hillary I am so sad by how you have conducted yourself on this campaign.

You have not taken the high road you have not demonstrated true leadership.

You have calculated and told half-truths instead of being genuine.

We the people are hurt most because we felt for you when you husband humiliated you and our country.

I am so disapponted by you.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:20 PM on 02/13/2008

Name one thing she's done that Obama hasn't also done. But, then, I forget, he's a man with a deep voice. Anything he does is strategy. Anything a woman does is calculating.

I thought that slogan was copyright!

Kinds like declaring I'm really a Republicon in disguise!

Ah well, any port in a storm!

Senator Clinton has picked up some of Rudy's rudeness.

She never once publicly thanked her supporters

from Virginia, Maryland or D.C. for coming out to

vote for her.

They stood in long lines with bad weather and just

because she didn't win, she forgot all about them.

Not nice!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:06 PM on 02/13/2008

...not class.

A preview of a Hillary whitehouse?

If she wins we are screwed.

It makes sense that she has adopted his nomenclature, since she has also adopted his campaign strategy.
