Miers Contempt Vote Expected Soon

NY Times:

Democratic House leaders plan to force a vote as early as Thursday on holding Joshua B. Bolten, White House chief of staff, and Harriet E. Miers, former White House counsel, in contempt of Congress.

Senior Congressional officials said the House leadership had essentially decided to go ahead with the vote, which is expected to spark a fight with Republicans over what they see as a politically inspired inquiry.

Don't count on this ever happening Ladies and Gentlemen. Pelosi and Reid are afraid of their own shadow: they talk "tough" in front of the camera, but never follow through. These two are worthless leaders in the Democratic Party. Hope they both get booted out of office by their constituents when they are up for re-election, and replaced by real Democratic politicians, not republican-lite politicians like them. (They love corporate and lobbyist money, just like a republican).

The Democrats are going to finally hold the Bush Administration accountable!! No, REALLY! They really mean it this time. They're going to finally vote on the contempt measure that passed committee six months ago and, doggonit, they mean business. You can be sure of that! Yeah, they're not going to let them get away with pulling "executive priviledge" whenever Congress asks for information they need for legitimate oversight. No siree, no WAY. Could be any day now. . .

About damn time. Really - it's OK to not show up when you're given a legal summons? Just say "Eh - I don't want to", stay at home while breaking the law?

This vote should have been forced months ago - make all those in office decide if they want to support Bush and his cronies, or the Law.
