A regular sex life is good for your health. It can satisfy all sorts of emotional- and physical-intimacy needs and help partners stay close, says Anita H. Clayton, M.D., a professor of psychiatry at the University of Virginia and author of "Satisfaction: Women, Sex, and the Quest for Intimacy." So why the dry spell? You can chalk it up to a sheer lack of time, but there are a slew of other reasons, too -- from weight gain and perimenopause to technology overload (stop texting now) in the bedroom. i have zero sex drive. the idea of even having sex kinda makes me shudder. that's why i don't have sex a whole lot. so what the hell am i supposed to do about it?

you didn't say whether you are in a relationship, either way...

if you're ok with it, who cares what other people are doing or thinking?

but if it troubles you, may I suggest talking to a psychologist or psychiatrist? a competent one will help you understand yourself (or your feelings about your relationsh­ip)... or make sure via an MD everything is fine with your chemistry.

all that being said, most people in a dry spell don't use the word "shudder." methinks your aversion is more complex that i may have unintentionally insinuated.

Oh...I thought you were asking me. In case you're wonderin' though, it's because I'd rather take care of my good old dad as enters his final stages of whateversort of dementia it is they're callin' it. Life, I guess.
I don't think it matters, but someone told me I'd probably get laid a lot later. I'm not sure I believe in the afterlife so I indulge in masturbation as frequently as I care to (none of your business), but if wishes came true, beggars would ride!
