Dennis Miller

From this morning's Page Six:

Dennis Miller doesn't have much luck with sports. He was unceremoniously dumped by ABC as a commentator for "Monday Night Football" in 2002, and now his Versus cable channel show, "Sports Unfiltered With Dennis Miller," looks destined for the scrap heap after just three months. "Frankly, it doesn't look good," a former staffer tells Santa Barbara News-Press columnist Richard Mineards.

Previously: "Unless you're a connoisseur of the high artform known as "A.M. talk," you might not be aware that the smarmy, smirky, obscure-reference-loving comedian/commentator Dennis Miller has recently RADICALLY REINVENTED himself as a smarmy, smirky, obscure-reference-loving right wing radio host." — Eli Braden, "Dennis Miller's Got A Brand New Bag," 23/6

This guy looks like he's six-years past due for detox and treatment.

Miller is an old scab. Good riddance.

Good analogy. However, while you have a scab it's a pain in the ass. But the instant it falls off, it is forgotten forever. One more fascist bites the dust.

imagine you're a proffessional comedian and you're contractually forbidden to use the rich and fertile garden that is george w. bush for giggle fodder = sell out

Im sure he will do just like he has done all the other times he was canceled. Blame other people for his failures.

Guess he will have to reinvent himself again. Maybe he could become a Christian child rapist and get a following again. He already went republican, you cant get much lower than that.

Next stop: cable access.

He deserves it, and worse, for opening his trap about things he's not qualified to speak of.

Fade away, DM.

Miller is a prime example of a person who has made a lot of money, then turns into a jerk Republican.

Miller has a TV show?
If he ever holds another stand up show, only dumb Republicans will show up.

What a washed up douche bag. I thought he reached his all time low on Monday Night Football but I was mistaken...he keeps opening up his mouth a reminding us that he is NOT FUNNNY in the least.

He sucked on SNL too...to bad he didn't realize he wasn't funny...who the hell kept this guy afloat?

I've long wondered what people see in this bag of wind. He certainly isn't funny....and now that he's become a maggot-mouthed defender of what truly is the very worst president in our history, he has gone from simply a complete bore...to a genuine, certified asshole. cancel him? For sure!

No, actually he was pretty good on SNL and his stand-up was fresh ... for a few years. His Fox chat show might have been huge for him if that bitch agent of Jay Leno's had not told the stars to blacklist him; the few then-stars (like Sharon Stone) who bucked the trend were good on the show, and ironically Moore always had the best bands of the day, probably because they weren't commercial enough for Leno. Then we started noticing him falling back on the Ann Reinking/Phil Collins joke on a creepily desperate basis and the die was cast. Truly sad decline of a one-time winner.

Dennis Miller, like alot of SNL allumni, has many jobs. His talk show is actually a good show, and I would assume will be around a while. Not easy to do(ask Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Fonda, Janeane Garofalo, Al Franken, etc.)

I see he also has a game show premiering, I think on NBC.

And he does live stand up, commercials, movies.

I don't think he has a shortage of employment opportunities.

Where is Dana Carvey, Joe Piscipo, and his other SNL friends?

how long until Dennis Miller comes out and says that he's voting for Obama? Hey, the "I'm a republican" wasn't a bad career move for 8 years-got him a couple of TV shows and a bunch of high paying speaking gigs to big wig Neo-con convention/bashes...

Dennis Miller switching from an obscurantism flinging liberal/moderate to a obscurantism flinging conservative was professional suicide. The reason for the grand awakening, as some rightwingers have characterized it, is none other than Rudy G’s homeboy 9/11.

See, Li’l Dennis got scared and decided the country was better off in the hands of the neocons who dragged their feet in the days leading up to 9/11 because, obviously, everything bad that happened on Bush's watch is Bill Clinton's fault.

The irony here is that his style of comedy is lost on his new audience, who just sits there staring in dull wonderment, thinking, "Where are the fart jokes?" or as Dennis would put it, “Where are the vignettes featuring a flatulent Leo Buscaglia?”

ohiomark babbles:
"JohnnyJust is right. Dennis used to consider himself a liberal, until he reached the age of reason.
There are many of us who followed that same path."

Yah, and it worked out real well for him didn't it.

Kinda like your inane posts.
