Dennis Miller doesn't have much luck with sports. He was unceremoniously dumped by ABC as a commentator for "Monday Night Football" in 2002, and now his Versus cable channel show, "Sports Unfiltered With Dennis Miller," looks destined for the scrap heap after just three months. "Frankly, it doesn't look good," a former staffer tells Santa Barbara News-Press columnist Richard Mineards.

Miller was moderately cutting edge and sometimes even funny when he was a comedian, but when he hitched his wagon to right wing politics (for whatever insane reason) he blew his career right out the door.

I've never understood why so many think he is so articulate or even that intelligent. His basic ploy is to use arcane words to express his views, thus insinuating that he's some kind of deep thinker.

I think that Dennis Miller must have been hit in the head with a large object sometime around 9/11.

He started out as one of the funniest and most biting standup comedians ever. The kind of guy who would have ripped George Bush a new asshole for being such a hypocritical and dishonest loser.

I couldn't agree more, 1042173. I have a CD of Miller from the late 90's called Rants and he was very funny back then. He even advocated for a more liberal policy concerning homosexual marriages. He never voiced any right wing ideological BS back then. Your right he must've suffered a severe head trauma after 9/11. Now he is not funny at all and I can't bear to hear him spout his newly adapted right wing crap for more than a few seconds.

Is it possible that he is being cancelled because he isn't entertaining? I have tried to watch him, but I ususally change channels quickly. He believes himself to be, clever, humorous, and intelligent. I don't think he is any of the aforementioned qualities, and he has that incredibly irritating habit of laughing at his own jokes, IN SPADES.

Yes, his laughing at his own jokes has made me seriously dislike him since I first saw him do the news on SNL. He did it then and has continued to this day. It is so obnoxious.
