Nicole Kidman Outed As Valerie Plame

From MTV News:

Nearly a year after Warner Brothers announced their intention to make a biopic of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, the identity of the actress who will play her has finally been leaked to the media - and you can only find it on MTV News.

"Nicole Kidman," director Doug Liman revealed. "She's perfect if you've ever met Valerie. Nicole was supposed to play Jane Smith in 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith.' We owe a movie together! That's an unrequited thing between me and an actor where I fell in love with them for a role and never get to consummate it."

No word when filming would begin as Kidman is pregnant.

IMO, she has given two great performances:

"To Die For" and "Dead Calm"

To be honest, I haven't seen every single movie she's done, but of the many I have seen, those two she was great in. It's not the best track record, at least for me.

BUT, I do wish her well on this project. Valerie Plame deserves justice, if only cinematic. I'd love to see Valerie and Joe on the Red Carpet at the Oscars -- kind of like seeing Al Gore accept the Nobel Peace Prize

I just read above somebody mention Kate Winslet. That wouldn't be bad choice. How bout Russell Crowe for Joe? He sure played the guy from "the Insider" lights out!

But I say Laura Linney. She is a year younger than Valerie.

Valerie Plame is a beautiful, poised, articulate, warm lady who should play herself! I know she's not an actor, but I simply cannot imagine anyone else playing the role so well -- especially the cold Kidman!

Kidman steals more roles from actors than Leo Dicapreo(sp?). Laura Linney or Joan Allen, Naomi Watts Cate Blanchett all would bring more to the role than Kidman.

laura linney would have been an interesting choice, for sure. sharon stone is about five years older than plame; perhaps that played into not considering her, but she surely resembles valerie - even in a kind of "attitude."

then again, kidman is higher profile. let's just see what she does with the part - i hope it's written well.

It doesn't matter who plays her what matters is what was done to her. Get away from the glamour and get down to the grit, the story is far mare powerful than the character is pretty.

I agree that Nicole Kidman is hot, but I'm not sure she's right for Valerie Plame. Valerie and Joe are about the most dapper couple since Nick and Nora. It's almost impossible to cast anyone to play these two elegant, gracious (and patriotic)people. Still, it's a fascinating story. I'm sure it will be worth watching, even if Moms Mabley were playing Miss Plame.

If the script calls for no facial expressions at all then Nicole is a good choice.

Definately should be Sharon Stone. This was only one of the things Bush pulled that was beyond anyone's comprehension of what a good honest president would do. Even the old man was ashamed.

Some relationships should remain unconsummated. A director casting their Love Jones doesn’t bode well for box office or quality filmmaking, just ask Tim Burton. Is it me are has Nicole plumped up her lips?

Hmmmmm ... I'd rather see Cate Blanchett or Charlize Theron before Nicole Kidman. And Kidman DEFINITELY would not have made a very good Jane Smith, either.
