New York Times executive editor Bill Keller announced, at one of the paper's regular staff talk-backs, plans for another wave of job cuts, including, according to three sources, the elimination of 100 newsroom positions. That's about 7 percent of the newsroom. Keller will hold three separate meetings today to break the news to the staff.

Maybe they could get rid of Kristol and some other dead weight so that some decent folks can keep their jobs.

Actaully they could just get stenographers to write down every word the adminstation says, they don't need reporters.

Watching the NY Times suffer an agonizing death is one of the great pleasures of "following the news."

However, in spite of a smaller paper & an ever-decreasing number of employees, its ignorantly stupid editiorialists still manage to "hang on."

Typical liberals.

Is that the same "typical liberals" that had Judith Miller acting as the administration's mouthpiece for the Iraq invasion?

Or maybe I'm thinking of the "typical liberals" that hired Bill Kristol.

With liberals like those, I'd hate to see what a conservative looks like.

King: Actually, I believe the pleasure is seeing the dismantling of a yellow rag that rejoices in divulging classified information protecting the USA, by extension endangering this country and our volunteer military protecting us. Their (NYTimtes rag)disloyalty has resulted in an ever decreasing readership, mostly made up of typical liberals. Gee, how about that, there just might be hope for democrats after all..........nah, scratch that, liberals will remain typical liberals.

The NYT doesn't need people working their newsroom.
They can just make up the news, like they did when Judith Miller was their lead "reporter".

The headline shouldn't be the "NYT Slashes Jobs" ------it should be the "NYT Has A News A Newsroom"

Now that is keeping it pithy!

Who cares? The NY Times gets their news directly from George Soros's fax machine. Why pay a typist?

So little real news is available quickly and I hope this doesn't further reduce the meager amount we now have.
There is too much about the election, and not enough about what we should know in order to make a decision in that election.
I'm also tired of reading about missing people months after the fact, reading about accidents in other parts of the country, sports and entertainment. It would be nice to know more about other parts of the world, more even about Iraq and Iran, since I seldom believe anything issued by the Bush administration or its friends.

This is no shocker. Part of my daily work out is...how much can I read before I gag. Perhaps the shake up will make a difference, unless they blame(as they did before) the lack of business on the internet. The only one hurt by this may be the Taliban with classified news tips for Terrorists. Hey, that sounds like a great column.
TOP SECRET TIPS FOR TERRORISTS!

There you are, resident troll. The NYT don't mean nearly as much to liberals as you think.

I mean, it's not like Fuchs News, where the audience is braindead and only uses that source for its "news". No, liberals are generally a lot smarter than the so-called conservatives. We actually go to several news outlets to get our news because we know there's always a bias.

NYT lost a lot of readers because of Judith Miller. They've made mistakes and if they're smart, they'll turn themselves around. Unfortunately, it appears that in their attempt to get more readers, they actually hired another liar, Bill Kristol.

I wanted to point out to you that you made a mistake when you wrote your comment. You said "Part of my daily work out is..." You should have been honest and left out the "out".

Your daily work is to be paid to be a troll. A lying troll at that. Oh, I'm sorry, that was redundant.

"how much can I read before I gag?" Not much I hope.
