Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera posed for dueling magazine covers with new son Max Liron, born January . She's on People in the US and Hello! in the UK. The songstress told Hello! she was too scared of tearing to give birth naturally. She had a C-section on January 12 and recently made her first appearance at a DVD signing and hit an art opening.

She told Hello!, "I'd heard horror stories about tearing. I really wanted a calm and peaceful environment. I didn't want any surprises."

Unlike her qualms, husband Jordan Bratman was great. Aguilera told the mag, "Jordan wasn't squeamish at all. He had the video camera ready to go."

She added: "The most reassuring thing for me was hearing that first beautiful cry. I just welled up with tears.

"We can't stop staring at him. We study him, he studies us back. It's just an unbelievable experience, the whole journey. It's just a beautiful time in our lives."

Aguilera, who gave birth at 37 weeks, also said, "The hardest part was deciding on his birthday. I wanted to leave it up to fate, but at the same time I was ready to be done early!"

Aguilera has also revealed Max had a bris. Bratman is Jewish, Aguilera is not.

please tell me thats sarcasm. a woman's boobs (generally) get bigger during pregnancy, and huge once milk production starts. no implants needed.

Aww! Christina with her child and her three dogs. Whoops! Sorry! I think that is her husband on the far right.

Okay, here I sit at 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. I've been throwing up every day, can barely walk, and could not get out of bed for the past two days due to severe physical pain, swelling, and irregular contractions. The hospital has sent me home twice already despite the pain and contractions, and my doctor refuses to even consider an early induction until at least next week, when I am 39 weeks along. No one will help me, but this bitch is afraid to push and is granted a C-section? I wish we "little people" had the opportunity to get the same treatment as the rich and famous!

I definitely think that care is not equal. I feel for you. The last weeks are horrendous.

It's not fair.

The good news is that it will be over soon.

I hear ya. I was on bedrest for preterm labor from week 30-37. My baby was very large and the perinatalogist was afraid I would suffer from pelvic collapse if I delivered vaginally. STILL, I was not allowed to have a C-section until week 39 to make certain my baby's lungs were fully developed. I really question the ethics of these doctors who will perform vanity C-sections at the very earliest possible date. Christina strikes me as too uneducated to know that it's a bad idea but an OB certainly knows the risks involved. Sheesh. Oh ... and I suffered a muscular tear in my C-section site at 2 weeks postpartum, I would certainly have traded it for a garden-variety episiotomy.

She's too "scared" to push for fear of tearing her precious "vajumba" so she has a c-section and the baby gets circumsized. Go figure...

Britney Spears is mentally ill and people should leave her alone to recover.

Christina is awesome. She will make a great mother UNLIKE another Mickey Mouser we all know - I won't mention any names, but her initials are Britney Spears...

Congratulations to Christina and family.

Its a bad sign she's pushed the kid into the spotlight already. Pull back Christina, don't go down that road. There are things in this world more important than publicity.

She was too afraid to push the baby into the world but not too afraid to push it into the spotlight. Go figure.

its better to give photogs access to the baby on her terms than to have them camping out at her home.
