In wide-ranging Milwaukee press conference says:

-Clinton is "business as usual" in her attitudes towards people who happen to be lobbyists. "That's not being a part of the solutions business."

-He would seek McCain deal on finance if he's the nominee. "I will...make sure we abide by the same rules."

Remember how Obama spoke out against the war!

Well- I just found an interesting video from 2001. Obama again appears to love the republicans...and the people they pick to lead...you know, like Donald Rumsfeld...

Clinton Admits health plan may mean Garnisheed Wages !

"Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.
The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

Senator Claire McCaskill (D) Missouri, elected for the first time to the United States Senate in November 2006, explained why she was supporting Senator Barack Obama to be President of the United States. She is the only one of the 16 female Senators who now is.

These are her words. "It was a little nudging from my 18 year old Daughter." "It was Maddie in my face."
"She said, "How can you look yourself in the mirror, you"re a slug, you"re playing it politically safe, I believe in this guy, I"ll never speak to you again if you don"t stand up and have some courage." "

"It was pretty intense, she was right, it was like a cold bucket of water on my head, she was absolutely right."

This is one of the new breed of Democrats we sent to Congress in 2006 to end the Iraq War. The war has not ended and this is what we got instead. Are your kids holding their breath unless you vote for Barack Obama? Are we making the right choice now?

Based on everything I've read about this, I would be inclined to dismiss anything that doesn't sound like troop withdrawal and pressure to get the federal budget balanced as 'bullshit', no matter whose mouth it came out of. Barack is fully at liberty to prove me wrong, but I'm not on the edge of the chair, here. I think our military is in the middle of some pretty serious longstanding corruption, things he probably knows about/knew about, I think the whole country has money problems, and we'll probably be lucky to have the lights on by 2012. Thug armies, and trillions more in the hole? Or reform?

come one put a black man in the white house.

in my life I would be able to see the civil rights movement and struggle and those nice (not) racist folks in the south water hosing those blacks for wanting their civil rights to a black man in the white house and piss off all those racist war mongering repubs in the south. love that.

besides obama's wife is neat and actually can dialog with an intellect not like the trophy budwiser bleach blond wife rich girl of mc cain.

black man in the white house in my life. that would be worth taking a trip in the south to smile at all those racist repubs who love to send their kids to war monger.

what would american imperialism be without the south to provide the mercenary armies.

cousins marry cousins gets you a nation of war mongers and a pres that uses them for his war mongering ways so he fill his coffers after he leaves office.

the industrial military complex will reward him very well for his contribution to their profits.

The fact that it would be historic for someone of African descent to be elected to head a nation of people who are primarily not of African descent, the fact that it would not be history making in America, but it would be World history. And also give us some quick moral standing That's not important.

You are lying through your teeth ... Obama has stood up in venues blasting homophobia and anti-semitism not because it was convenient for him to do so but because it is the right thing to do ...
Interestingly I received an email from Rabbi Chaim Dov Beliak's organization yesterday -- it is called jewsonfirst.org the

Letter from Jewish Leaders

An Open Letter to the Jewish Community:

January 15, 2008

As leaders of the Jewish community, none of whose organizations will endorse or oppose any candidate for President, we feel compelled to speak out against certain rhetoric and tactics in the current campaign that we find particularly abhorrent. Of particular concern, over the past several weeks, many in our community have received hateful emails that use falsehood and innuendo to mischaracterize Senator Barack Obama's religious beliefs and who he is as a person.

These tactics attempt to drive a wedge between our community and a presidential candidate based on despicable and false attacks and innuendo based on religion. We reject these efforts to manipulate members of our community into supporting or opposing candidates.

Attempts of this sort to mislead and inflame voters should not be part of our political discourse and should be rebuffed by all who believe in our democracy. Jewish voters, like all voters, should support whichever candidate they believe would make the best president. We urge everyone to make that decision based on the factual records of these candidates, and nothing less.

Sincerely,

William Daroff, Vice President, United Jewish Communities; Nathan J. Diament, Director, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America; Abraham Foxman, National Director, Anti-Defamation League; Richard S. Gordon, President, American Jewish Congress; David Harris, Executive Director, American Jewish Committee; Rabbi Marvin Hier, Dean, Simon Wiesenthal Center; Rabbi David Saperstein, Director, Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism; Phyllis Snyder, President, National Council of Jewish Women; Hadar Susskind, Washington Director, Jewish Council for Public Affairs

perhaps "down" simply meant "down in the polls, political view, etc." we don't need to inject some type of perceived gender flaw or gender-based innuendo. i read what he actually said (not just partial quotation). in its full context, it doesn't remotely reflect anything anti-female.

He's condescending to her. She is running negative ads not because of her feelings. To suggest its "emotional" is condescending.

I honestly cannot believe I'm even explaining this.

It's too stupid if you can't see it.

She's a political opponent decisions to go negative just like any other opponent would. She doesn't get up in the morning and feel down and decide to run negative ads.

It was a very clumsy move on his part. Obvious. Sexist. And I'm probably just a bit premature in commenting.

But trust me.....it'll get noticed.

Yeah, but she is doing it stupidly. Wasting money on attack ads on the "debate" thing. I am confident that people in Wisconsin and probably Texas and even Ohio, may have already seen eighteen debates and are as sick and tired as I am with debates sponsored by MSM. The debates are useless. They shut them out as they do Teevee ads. The debates have turned into a circus, thanks to the media who run them.

And she wanted to have a DEMOCRATIC debate on FOX TEEVEE? How out of touch is this woman with the voters who know damn well what Fox teevee is all about proposing a debate on that channel, moderated by a decidedly Bush Republican heavily leaning channel!! She must be nuts or desperate at this point to think Fox is her friendly news station and to challenge Obama to debate her there. Well maybe they are to her, Murdoch and all.
