Clinton Camp: We'll Fight All The Way To The Convention

Sen. Hillary Clinton is ready to fight for the Democratic nomination all the way to the Democratic National Convention in August if that's what it takes, but her top strategists say they're not expecting a nasty brawl in Denver.

"My prediction is there will be no fight," said Clinton campaign advisor Harold Ickes on a conference call with reporters Saturday. "All of this is going to be settled out before we hit the floor."

Are you Obama supporters saying your candidate has no ambition? Your candidate has no ego? Your candidate doesn't want to win? Your candidate has never flip-flopped to gain favor with voters?

I must say the marketing of Obama has been brilliant. He's reached Messiah status.

But guess what? What goes up must come down. You're missing the nuances -- people are beginning to tire of your Obama-mania and his no-facts-just-hope stump speech.

Those of us who have voted for presidents more than once remember other holier-than-thou candidates who hit a supernova level of brilliance then - poof - lost the nomination.

The Obama-backlash is picking up steam. This isn't over for Hillary - not by a long shot.

NO, we Obama supporters are saying nothing of the kind. You must be hearing voices again.

re "Messiah status"...isn't Bill Clinton the one who brought many of his female supporters to their knees? I believe Ms. Lewinski told her friends even before she moved to Washington, that she was going to need some kneepads.

If you Clinton supporters DARED to look, the details of Obama's platform are available on his website. But of course, you are not about to read them...you would rather pretend that that they aren't there so you have one more bogus thing to whine about.

If you tried to remember (Or looked it up) exactly what the Clintons did for the "little guy," it might cross your mind that Bill rammed through NAFTA, in spite of his promise not to. You might want to pay some attention too to the fact that Hillary now takes more in campaign contributions from lobbyists than any other candidate, including Republicans. This includes taking money from the very corporations that spent millions to lie about her healthcare plan in order to defeat it and to prevent us from having decent affordable medical care for going on a decade and a half.

Are YOU saying that Clinton intends to give nothing back in return for all of that corporate money?

Don't put words in people's mouths. How would you like it if we Obama supporters accused you of saying that Obama is not a legitimate candidate, but a rock star with supporters who are "cultists" bedazzled by his gift for gab? How would you like it if we accused you of saying that anybody who won't support Clinton, no matter how good and valid their reasons, is a Clinton-"hater?" Bushrovian bullcrap that only fools would believe?

Whoops....I almost forgot...you ARE saying stuff like that all the time.

No Backroom deals... Allow this decision to go all the way to the convention. On a level playing field.

Rules state FL & MI delegates will NOT be seated for defying the DNC rules. This rule MUST stand as all candidates had agreed in advance.

Rules state that superdelegates can vote ANYWAY they desire. This rule MUST also be allowed to stand.

The superdelegates of the democratic party gave themselves the power to swing the election weighted 20% towards the delegates en bloc. 80% average dem voter. 20% superdelegate party faithful.

Now its time for these "elites" to show America their wisdom. No brokering back door deals. The regular voters will have made their decision known before any superdelegate vote was cast. Let the superdelegates go onto the convention floor and let each superdelegate cast their vote in full view of the American public. Lets see their "wisdom".

Newly registered & independent voters and yes party faithful, will then be able to make their decision to either stay & fight the good fight or vote with their feet and leave. The ball is in the hands of the Party elite. Do not allow them to shirk their so called responsibility.

"My party right or wrong" ... sorry I'm not a card carrying member...

I don't think Hillary's doing as badly as it may appear. Although Obama leads in elected delegates, the popular vote is virtually tied, so that the elected delegates don't directly reflect the popular votes, just like in presidential elections where a candidate may win the popular vote but not the election because of the electoral college, i.e., Gore v. Bush in 2000. Many people were very unhappy about that.

From what I can tell, without Florida and Michigan votes, Obama leads by approx. 100,000 popular votes out of approx. 16 million cast. Leaving out Michigan where only Hillary's name appeared on the ballot, in Florida she got 300,000 more votes than Obama, which would give her a 200,000 lead. Either way (including Florida or not), it's probaly statistically tied as far as the popular vote right now. And upcoming are populous states--PA, TX, OH--that could possibly put her ahead on popular votes. So I don't think the claims that Obama is doing better with the voters (because he leads in elected delegates) reflects what the votes are.

Translation: I will do anything to cheat, lies, steal this election if I don't win at the ballot box.

The Clintons are proving their critics right: They never cared about the Democratic party, only about their own ambitions. (Hence the huge Democratic losses 1992-2000 in the Congress, Senate, Whtie House and governorships)

mix and your translation is to disenfranchise 2.5 million people from having their votes count. Hypocrit, obama took his name off the ballot his own free will, and he advertised and fundraised in Fl. they rejected him. The DNC provides for the credentials committee to seat the delegates after the primary occurred, the rules are clear, the media lies about it, and your sorry butt would rather have a take over of the Democratic Party by a bunch of snot nosed punks that have done nothing but try and intimidate Hillary supporters and have done nothing but character assassination to try and promote your boy. You act like a bunch of Nazis and you have no business being involved in choosing a President.

LOOK. ALL the candidates, and that INCLUDES HILLARY CLINTON, agreed to the DNC's ruling to not allow the delegates from MI and FLA to be seated, when that ruling was made. Up until as late as the NH primary, Clinton told an NPR audience that the delegates in those 2 states didn't count. When she got her ass handed to her in a paper bag in SC, she suddenly became concerned about "disenfranchising" voters in FLA ands MI. It is only the most rabid Clintonistas that don't see this for what it really is. A hypocritical, desperate attempt by a formerly "inevitable" candidate who finds herself behind when she thought she would be way ahead. Clintonistas will spin this every which way until Sunday in order to try to gain ANY advantage for the Clintons. They are pathetic, and the Democratic voters who want their candidate to win-at-all-costs are pathetic as well. If this is really an issue of "fairness" as the Clinton talking points say, she should have stood up when the DNC initially made their decision. The rest, as Obama says, is nothing more than political "gamesmanship." It will tear the party apart if the Clintons persist in this ends-justify-the-means strategy.

Well, what do we expect? The Clintons bombed a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan to detract attention from the Monica Scandal, in 1998. What is the big deal about them cluster bombing the DNC in order to get back into that lovely big white house in DC?

If you knew history, which you don't, you would know that the Democrats lost Congress in 1994 not 1992. I know Obama supporters are young and may not have lived through American politics in the 70"s and 80"s, but the 90"s weren"t that long ago. The Dems lost it because:

#1 The House and Senate Democratic leadership were caught up in scandals

#2 The House was controlled by the Democrats for over 40 years and people were tired and ripe for a change

#3 The Republicans were smart and sold the American public on the "Contract with America" and Newt Gingrich

#4 Right Ring radio and corporate media was hitting its stride, brainwashing a huge audience on a daily basis

At this time in 1994, Bill Clinton had low approval numbers and the Republicans thought he was a one-term president at this point. But in another amazing comeback, he regrouped and crushed the opposition to get reelected in 1996. In addition, he was able to make gains in the House and Senate in the remaining years of his presidency.

The Clintons care about all Democrats running for across this country for Democrats on a national, state and local level since 1992. If Gore didn"t listen to his stupid advisers and used Clinton (who"s approval was in the 60"s) in the campaign, he would have been President. While the Clintons were working for the party, Obama was working for Tony Resko, whose trial is starting soon I believe.

I too remember the 90s. That's when the Clintons threw gay taxpayers under the bus.

Bill Clinton signed onto DOMA before it was written. He ran ads in 1996 boasting about his support for the anti-gay policy. Hillary is still insulting her own gay supporters by insisting that DOMA really protects them.

http://www.gay.com/news/article.html?2007/06/19/1

The Clintons had their Martin Luther King/ Lyndon Johnson moments on civil rights in 1993 and 1996 and they turned their back on the civil rights of ay taxpayers for their own political advantage.

It's no longer 1992. It's time for the Clintons and their politics of triangulation to go away.

From the Clinton point of view, the Democratic Party is merely a support organism for their ambitions. If it no longer kow-tows to their whims, it has lost all usefulness and can be destroyed. All the more so if it becomes an impediment.

"it's the notion that only Barack Obama can save our souls that is the most offensive part of the speech, by far. Government doesn't exist to save souls; it exists to ensure domestic tranquility and provide for the common defense. If I feel my soul needs saving, the very last place I'd look (in the US) for a savior would be Washington DC or Capitol Hill. I'll trust God and Jesus Christ with my soul, and I'm not going to mistake Barack Obama for either one.

This, though, is the religion of statism distilled to its essence. Only a government can rescue people from the consequences of their own decisions. Only government programs can provide for your every need, and only government can use your money wisely enough to ensure that your needs get covered. Individuals cannot possibly manage to help their neighbors through their churches or community organizations, let alone encourage people to do for themselves.

And all you need to enter the statist Utopia is to sell your soul." Ed Morrisey

Obama cannot get die hard Democrats because we know he is Republican lite and 2008"s Flip Flopper. Obama: I am against the war, l have same position as Bush, vote for the funding, stay until 2013, withdraw immediately. I can"t keep up!!! Obama which direction are the "Winds of War" blowing today? You may change your position again, if the corporate media keeps spinning the success of the surge.

Since Obama can"t get key Democtatic groups (seniors, women, latins, asians, blue collar workers and the never mentioned LGBT community), he has to reach out to Republicans. Obama is supported by Oprah who votes Republican many times and her show that beat the drums for war as much as any Fox show. Arianna Huffington was a staunch Republican until she got divorced. Andrew Sullivan who made me sick with his constant support of George Bush and now supports Obama. Maria Shriver who sleeps with another stiff Republican. Bill Bennett likes Obama! Hello!!!!!

True Democrats know that Hillary has delivered on so many occasions for Democratic principles. We understand the political climate that existed in the 2002! When you have one of the most respected men in America, Colin Powell (do you remember him?) championing this war as much as Bush/Cheney when he went in front of the UN with his cartoon drawings. Bloggers have the freakin nerve to go after only Hillary. You are not true Democrats. You are latte drinking whiners!!! Oh, Powell is another Republican who supports Obama.

Some of the most respected Democrats Job Biden, Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Tom Dasch, Max Cleland, Tom Harkin, Harry Reid and 20 other Democrats voted for the authorization in 2002. The Dems had control of the Senate and could have killed the authorization if they all voted nay. Get off Hillary"s back about apologizing for her vote, especially when I don"t hear the outcry for the men to apologize. That is clear SEXISM and misdirected anger. Direct all your outrage at BushCheney/Rice/Powell/Rumsfeld who lied about the intelligence obtained from the CIA.
