Johnny Knoxville On Stunt Mishap: "I Almost Lost My Own Balls"

Johnny Knoxville, the ringleader of MTV's "Jackass" crew, is used to risky stunts. But, it seems one backfired on him, as he posted the following message on jackassworld.com:

Just got back from Oklahoma where I was shooting "Mat Hoffman's tribute to Evel Knievel." Had a ball, too, even though I almost lost my own balls in the process. Don't want to give too much away because the tribute airs Feb 23rd on MTV, but let's just say before letting Travis Pastrana teach me how to do a backflip on a motorcycle I should have had him teach me to ride one first. Heh-heh...bad for me, good for our viewing audience at home. Have to go now. Have to empty the piss bag on my leg that I have to wear for the next two weeks until my torn urethra heals. Ouch, and see you on the 23rd. By the way, lots of great stuff in the Evel Knievel tribute besides my trip to the hospital--lots!

The above criticisms of Mr. Knoxville are grossly unjust.

Not only is he a stuntman of the first order, he's out of his freakin' mind...which makes for superb viewing.

It's poetic how Knoxville can display sheer genius for creatively being stupid.

Actually, checking out the article had nothing to do with "loving it" as you put it. I have no idea who Johnny Knoxville is and I've never heard of a jackass crew although after reading the article I understand why they're called jackasses. I followed the link because I had a hard time believing the title of the article was for real. Stuntmen typically wear protective equipment such as a jock and cup, the whole purpose of which is to protect one's family jewels. Having read the post, it would appear that Knoxville did get hurt. I have a hard time believing that a putz like Knoxville is a real stuntman since what he did, if in fact he did it as described, would get him kicked out of a real stuntman organization. Stunts are often dangerous but a good stuntman learns how to minimize danger and when he does get hurt, it's usually owing to something unforeseen. Knoxville seems to think acting like an idiot is cool. Perhaps someone should tell him he's an idiot and that being one he's probably in the wrong profession. He doesn't need a piss bag but a lobotomy.
