Black voters are heavily represented in the 94th Election District in Harlem's 70th Assembly District. Yet according to the unofficial results from the New York Democratic primary last week, not a single vote in the district was cast for Senator Barack Obama.

That anomaly was not unique. In fact, a review by The New York Times of the unofficial results reported on primary night found about 80 election districts among the city's 6,106 where Mr. Obama supposedly did not receive even one vote, including cases where he ran a respectable race in a nearby district.

Read more here.

What!!! Election-night results were published with only (gasp) only 99.999% of precincts reporting? The Clintonista vote-stealing machine at work again?

Ummmmm - Didn't anyone else notice that an awful lot of the vote totals reported that night said "99% of precincts reporting"?

At least Sam Roberts didn't come right out and accuse the Clintons of vote-stealing. UNLIKE those previous bogus articles that claimed the Clintons would "Not concede - even if she lost the popular vote."

This story broke over the weekend - a holiday weekend at that. You better believe that someone is going to answer for this discrepancy. For you people to think that Harlem would vote overwhelming for Clinton just shows how uninformed you really are. Bill Clinton has done nothing for Harlem but raise property rates. There is no special bond between the Clintons and the Harlem community. Charlie Rangel should be at the forefront of addressing this issue or his seat, which is already being challenged, is gone.

There should be some 'furniture moving' in Harlem, and it should be Charlie Rangel's, if he doesn't protest vehemently about this.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:13 PM on 02/17/2008

Are you for real??? Do you HONESTLY think that Rangel would look into this? Who do you think he's supporting?

He is supporting his blood brother Bill Clinton. Charles Rangel has had an illustrious career in politics and is highly regarded. Before you anti-Clinton activists jump down Rangels pants you should stop, breathe and realize that this is a man who is no pushover and has BACKBONE. He has behaved very decently as long as I have known of him and he isn't going to risk it all for a few votes. If Obama did not get votes here in NY, trust me, it is because he truly did not merit them. Voters can say they will vote for a candidate and have a change of heart once they get in that booth.

Clinton has not raised your property taxes. City council raised your property taxes at Mayor Bloomberg's request. The same way he is pushing for congestion pricing. Yes, it will cost residents of Harlem a lot of money to travel to the other side of the city by car. Again, this is Bloomberg, city council and the state assembly's doing. Are you going to blame Bill and Hillary for this too. Why don't you blame them for the Kennedy assassination while you are at it too. Charlie Rangel is not going anywhere. Would you prefer Harlem to go back to the way it was in the eighties and early nineties.-crack houses and burned out buildings?? People can actually walk safely through the streets of Harlem today. Your perception of Harlem's renaissance is WAY off.

in closing both hillary and obama are going after the superdelegates with equal ferocity.
obama has more money to throw at them because he has run a much better campaign and raised more money. that is a huge positive although some try to spin it as a negative.

You have a valid point.

Obama is quite capable of continuing that long-standing Dem tradition; vote-buying.

Nothing is rotten in NewYork, the people are just smarter then most on this forum. They know when there's smoke and no fire. B.O. and his campaign is all smoke and no fire. Black in New York know that Hillary is the better, of the two candidate's.

thERE HAS TO BE A VALID EXPLANITATION FOR THIS, NO ONE IS THAT STUPID TO RIG VOTES IN THIS FASHION. THE MEDIA AND THEIR PRO-OBAMA STORIES

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:16 PM on 02/17/2008

It was probably just simple human error. Like you say, if you want to rig an election, you don't do it with "zeros". I'm not a fan of Clinton, but they're not trying to steal votes here.

If the results are re-examined, it might end up with another delegate or two going for Senator Obama. It might not. That's the extent of the story.

Every time I see that goofy, toothy grin from Hillary, the same words come to mind- PHONY, FRAUD, SCHEMER, RACE-BAITER, INSINCERE, CONDESCENDING. And these are the ones I can print. She's about as genuine as a Teflon Turd.

I am African-American, live and voted in the 70th. I voted for Edwards. The Democratic club I am part of West Harlem Independent Democrats is endorsing Hillary. Most of the tenants in my Tenant Association support Clinton. Charlie Rangel endorses Clinton. Billary has done more for Harlem than Obama-- who hasn't done anything, unless Kenyan heritage counts.

While I am a little surprised that Obama didn't get any votes- I know a couple of people who supported him, but maybe they forgot to vote. I'm not surprised that Clinton won, handily.

READ THE ARTICLE, THEN POST PLEASE!!!!!! The WHOLE article from the NYTimes, not the Huff spin headline. See my post below, Hillary got 0 tallied in certain regions as well. Primaries are hectic, it is what happens and you would know that if you ever worked in a busy polling place. The stuff gets fixed at the end of the night and this was no exception. It is ridiculous and sad the way Obamaniacs distort the truth and want to cry Clinton scandal every five seconds. Maybe if you all did more thorough reading you wouldn't be backing the wrong horse in the first place.

Well, what is anyone going to do about it? Those votes were stolen fair and square. This is a great example of democracy in America. Not at all like it was before those machines were put in. In the old days nobody would believe that a Harlem district wouldn't have a single vote for a popular Black candidate! Buy now people must believe that. (Black people certainly have no bias in favor of their own; here'e machine proof.) And all 80 of those Zero votes for O would be hard to believe anywhere else. In most places (recall the 2000 election?) some old geezers would mess up and vote wrongly. Not in New York! Everyone there has 20/20 vision, a steady hand, and in some places nobody voted for that big O, none, zero.

By the way that bridge that people like to try to sell you is in New York, too!

People,
Please read the whole post before crying out a Clinton conspiracy (based on some of these posts, I doubt that the Obamacons actually read the article, just saw a Huff-Obama leaning headline that distorted the facts and then posted)

Please note: "City election officials said they were convinced that there was nothing sinister to account for the inaccurate initial counts, and The Times’s review found a handful of election districts in the city where Mrs. Clinton received zero votes in the initial results."
"Most election-night anomalies are later reconciled by the official canvass of the machines and in the formal count of absentee returns and of paper affidavit ballots issued on Primary Day, to people who do not appear to be eligible but demand the right to vote, and later validated."

So the results are still the results we saw on Feb 5 and they are accurate. Hasty voting tallies are corrected by the end of the night, as stated in the article.

Maybe you all should be more worried about Obama's massive campaign contributions to superedelegates and threatening phone calls being make to the Black Caucus superdelegates if they don't support them.
Now THAT sounds like corruption.

Yes, we are all worried about Obama strong arming the Super Delegates. PLEASE!

I think Obama is willing to finish playing this out with the pledged delegates and having the Super Delegates vote "the will of the people." As Chuck Schumer made it clear on Meet the Press today, it is the Clinton Campaign, who will be doing the strong-arming of the Super Delegates to try to unwind the will of the people.

Hussein has given four times more money recently to "Super Delegates" (a misnomer if ever there was one) than has Hillary.

One such delegate is here in Charlotte, Susan Burgess (the Mayor Pro Tem).

She is "committed" (whatever that means) to Hillary but has stated frequently during interviews that Obama supporters are "nagging the Hades out of her" to get her to switch (whatever that means)

It's pretty simple really; you Dems have a "system" on your hands that is ripe with vote-rigging & vote-buying.

Pretty comical.

Okay so then all the Senators and Congressmen/women from CA and MA and soon TX should vote for HRC...sounds fair to me! Please tell Jesse Jackson (who I actually kind of like because he is actually a real civil rights leader and ran as one in the 80's) to stop calling the Black Caucus telling them that they will face a "tough" reelection campaign if they don't switch to Obama! If HRC was doing this you people would be sobbing and blogging from here to Mars.

THIS IS A PROBLEM:
Superdelegate contributions from each candidate's PACs:
Obama: $694,000 (40% of his superdelegates)
Clinton: $194,000 (12% of her superdelegates)

Why isn't this a story on the Huff Post? Interesting for a guy that has been in the Senate for three minutes!

This is why Washington State was such a surprise. Voter fraud by Dems is rampant there too but Obama won. Maybe the caucus system is better to combat fraud. The "machine" cannot influence the caucus system as much.

Sure the caucus system is the answer! Other than it does away with the "secret ballot" aspect of voting I guess it is okay.

Frankly maybe doing away with the machines and having paper ballots and purple thumbs is the only way to go.
