Black voters are heavily represented in the 94th Election District in Harlem's 70th Assembly District. Yet according to the unofficial results from the New York Democratic primary last week, not a single vote in the district was cast for Senator Barack Obama.

That anomaly was not unique. In fact, a review by The New York Times of the unofficial results reported on primary night found about 80 election districts among the city's 6,106 where Mr. Obama supposedly did not receive even one vote, including cases where he ran a respectable race in a nearby district.

Read more here.

Typical tactic of ClintonCo and their machine to make Hillary the next president, whatever it takes.

What most people don't know is the extent of oversight by the NYPD in NY City elections. Cops are at every poll. They check the public machine counters at the beginning and end of the election and stay at polling sites throughout the election. They also independently total out votes at the end and transmit them. This is done independent of what the Board of Elections does. The police only do this in NYC not the rest of the state. I did this stuff over the years. This goes back to the 1800's because of Tammany Hall corruption. The Board of Election is controlled by hacks for the most part. They have to screw with the voting machines before they go out. Thats the only way to screw with the vote. Can they do that? Its possible. A loss or close race in Hillary's home state would nuke Hillary.

Well, the conspiracy theorists must love this bit of red meat. But stop and think? Who would have to gain from this? What if votes were traded in districts so that a narrow defeat for Obama in two adjacent districts could be a resounding victory in one. I don't know exactly how delegates are divided up but this could be a scheme to enrich Obama's delegate count. This is as likely a scenario as any, as there was no need at all for Clinton to employ dirty tricks to win in NY.

If this isn't a call for total upheaval of the election process and methods of transparency, I don't know what is. There can't be much to our democracy if this stuff goes on. Paper is the only answer.

IS ROVE INVOLVED IN ANOTHER DIRTY CAMPAIGN WITH ALL THE DIRT BEING DISHED IN THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES CAMPAIGN? THIS IS HIS STYLE TO CLOUD THE AGENDA AND ISSUES THAT REALLY MATTER.

If Rove isn't being paid by Hillary for President as a campaign adivisor, he should sue them for patent or copyright infringement. Clinton's campaign is adopting every Bush-Rove dishonest, mean-spirited, divisive tactict, what Hillary calls the "fun part" of politics.

And, we are trying to export our democratic system to the rest of the 'uncivilized' world? May be we should get our act straight first. Just a suggestion!

If you think the Clinton's will be playing fairly and by the rules, think again! They will bend any rule, strong arm all superdelegates, and make sure Florida and Michigan are counted so they can sit in the oval office office and argure on all issues relating to the running of America! This is not good for America! So if they do all of the above John ""Wayne" McCain will be sitting inthe oval office plotting his war plan against Iran. Not good either way is it!

If there is a confusion over counting votes in New York City, that confusion is only shared by people who don't live there.

I believe New Mexico was the last state to report after the 2004 general election. One of the reasons I paid attention to that sort of thing was because I am a Dem and it was expected that New Mexico would go for Kerry.

Naturally, even though some people had to travel many miles to get to their voting station, there was a suspicious lack of votes for either candidate. That just didn't make sense. People traveled miles to vote and then didn't bother to when they got there?!

The same thing happened in Ohio where I live. That's one way to steal the election...in areas where it is expected the rotten party's candidate will have lots of votes, you simply don't need to mess with it. In areas where he or she is expected to lose, you screw with ALL the votes.

I know how many of you are blaming the Clintons on this, which shows you have no clue.

NYC is one of the few places left in the US that is using lever machines. I myself voted on one two weeks ago- a machine older than myself! (And I'm 45...)

NYC and most of NY State decided not to switch to the flawed electronic voting machines, and so instead, rely on flawed MECHANICAL voting machines.

But if you prefer your ignorance and hate to rule over you, be my guest.

I'm certainly not blaming the Clintons. But given the improbability, this should disturb you, too. Don't you think? I'm a native New Yorker and I currently work in Harlem. Just like anywhere else in the city, you can't get the people of one building to agree on something, let alone an entire district.

What are the odds?

This might surprise many, but most of the African-Americans I work with said they were voting for her.

She's our senator- I wonder how many citizens of Illinois voted for Obama whose demographic would have normally voted Hillary? Sometimes regionalism transcends normal demographics.

Yeah, it's the old machines... they fail only when it's Obama votes at stake. Clinton has a near death grip on the NY Democratic machine, you know? I live there, mentioning one is for Obama, among party hacks, is certain to get you the dirtiest looks this side of a Cheney-sneer.

Something that's rarely discussed is the "secure" handling and storage of the ballots, that in terms of a count/recount is critical. I understand that this has been a major problem in the NH results. And, again, what are the odds???

I don't hear any blaming the Clintons. But given that the irregularities are in her home state and in her favor, has she called for a careful, thorough recount?

Any honest person knows that Hillary would be yelling at the top of her lungs if she thought she had lost one vote due to irregularities. Just look at the chaos she and Bill caused in Nevada about the caucus rules.

If the dog catcher runs in an election, he won't get zero votes, so why would Sen. Obama get zero votes. Stan you should invest in some grade school logic. I hesitate to label anyone an idiot, but you Stan are an idiot.

Stan, if a klu klux klansman ran for office, that klansman will get MORE then one vote. I KNOW, THATS WHAT HAPPENED IN MISSISSIPPI. He got 300 (2%)or more black votes.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Isn't that the only way the Clintons have been able to "win" anything so far in this campaign? Cheating?

What good Republicans they are!

So this is why Hillary wins the primaries and Obama wins the caucuses. Hmmmmm.

Hillary wins bigger states, Obama wins smaller states. It is about machine politics- she has had a massive team built over the years, which permitted her to have the infrastructural advantage that helps with an election, but is not as efficient for a caucus.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:00 AM on 02/17/2008

That machine helps her with the primary process. Even so, she's just relying on the same tired strategy of the past several election years where they think that they can afford to lose the states not bordering water. That'll deliver a wonderful victory right into the hands of the Republicans.

People are focusing their attention on the conservatives' reluctance to back McCain. I guarantee that win the general comes around, they'll still trot out to the voting stations like faithful dogs.

The Democratic party is in shambles right now. I'm saddened, but yet am oddly anticipating the inevitable powder keg that the Democratic convention will be this year. Democrats for both candidates are emotionally invested in their candidates. I wonder if the primary losers can back the nominee in the general? If enough Obama supporters feel jilted by the primary outcome, they might actually not vote in the general. The same goes for Clinton supporters.
