Krugman

Ouroboros alert! Paul Krugman took to his increasingly ironically titled blog to bring you a live shot of the next (not-quite-as-great) unraveling. Unfortunately, it's Krugman's hand on the thread.

One thing I worry about a lot if Obama is the Dem nominee -- and he's surely the frontrunner now -- is that there will be a backlash against Obamamania. Actually, it's already starting -- probably too late to have much effect on the nomination fight, but in plenty of time to affect the general election.

I hope I'm just a cynical baby boomer who has never really trusted any politician since 1968. But I just have a very bad feeling about the way things are going.

Yes. The media meme that Krugman helped...uhm...pimp, is starting to worry him. Funny how that works.

I would take your anti-Krugman article seriously, Mr. Jason Linkins, but without exaggeration, today is the first time I ever hear your name.

Who are you?

Paul Krugman is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He is being attacked right and left (and from the right and left) but most especially by people who love Obama. Why is it that Paul Krugman can't question anything? Wait. Stop there. Why is it that no one can question anything about Barack Obama without being accused of heresy, Hillaryism, or, I really liked "pathetic". We are allowed to disagree in this country without being branded as evil or traitorous. Wait a minute. That's what Bush says when one of we Dems has the temerity to question his policies. We are traitors. Pathetic traitors. Get it? Or am I being too subtle? Paul Krugman is one of the good guys, and he doesn't even support Hillary, he supported John Edwards if anyone. Let it go guys. Let this good guy pose questions or concerns without jumping him. Obama will survive and so will (if we are lucky) civility.

Krugman must be racist and against change and hope. LOL. I am afraid of anyone who causes people's minds to close up. That is exactly what happened in the lead up to Bush's war. If you said anything against him and the war you were unpatriotic. If you criticize Obama, then you are racist, evil, mean, against change, blah blah blah. It is probably frustrating to be one of the more intelligent journalists and watch the media go around worshipping instead of analyzing Obama. I certainly feel that way as a voter. The problem that dems do not realize is that the media does this all the time. They pump up a Dem and a Republican and then go with the Repulblican in the national election. Obama is toast.

Amen. I am not sure why my posts are being approved (I guess I sound too much like Krugman) but maybe this one will get through. I am stunned that Obama's supporters would attack Krugman for just doing analysis. It seems like they expect Obama to be above critique. Doesnt this sound like the Republicans during the war? It was an awful situation. Now Obamania dictates that any criticism or analysis of him that goes against the religious beliefs of his followers is either racist or just mean. This has to stop. WE are electing a president, not hosting a social....

Krugman is pathetic. I no longer have any respect for him and he obviously has no respect for himself with his frequent rants about Obama. He's yet another indication of how desperate Hillary is. Hillary wishes she could be as inspiring as Obama, rather than the same old dull politician using the same old tired lines that she "plagiarized" from other politicians. Even when she "plagiarizes" Obama, she's uninspiring. Give it up! Obama's The One.

You lose respect for someone intelligent like Krugman for speaking his mind? What a joke. You Obama worshipers are doing exactly what Krugman is complaining about. No one can criticize the Messiah without religious ferver of his followers. The same thing happened to Tavis Smiley, a once-beloved black commentator. He had the audacity to criticize Obama over a tiny thing...and the black community has given him our own noose. So, now we are electing a democratic version of Bush. Very little experience -- and if you criticize him, his proselytes will string you up. Great. I'm glad that the Democratic party values free speech and dissent. What a joke of a party. A bunch of snobby hypocrites. YOU WILL LOSE TO MCCAIN, AND I WILL BE ON OBAMINGTONPOST.COM LMAO....

I think it's funny that "Krugman attacks Barack Obama" has its own section here.

Anyway, I encourage people who generally like Krugman (like me), and who are supporting Obama (like me), to check out Krugman's blog. The give-and-take between his entries and the replies are really good.

You haven't yet caught on to the fact that The National Journal conveniently ranks whoever the Democratic nominee is as "the most liberal member of congress"?

I pity you.

Let's see:
1. experience counts. Hitler had experience. Grant as military leader had experience. Lincoln, with but two years in congress became a president. On firts full day, a letter from a genral urgently requesting 20 thousand troops for Ft Sumpter.

2. Obama is cult figure. But Ronnie waited till he died and then became god-like. If you like bama, he has charisma. If you don't he is cultish.

3. guy served as president and wonders if his wife could take over his job? How good a president was he? Can he do the cooking his wife did? Runninbg a college is NOT like runnib ng a very large nation.

4. Krugman does not like (or does not prefer)Obama. Ok. Would he prefer McCain? Doubt it. We choose and that is what we are doing. Just decide for yourself!

"increasingly ironically titled blog"

Paul Wellstone's estate should sue Krugman for plagiarizing his book title.

Krugman to Publisher's Weekly, 1/22/03: "I'm not all that much of a liberal."

Let me get this straight --

You seriously think that if Krugman hadn't done what you allege that there never would be an Obama backlash? You think he's just going to go unscathed into the White House?

The GOP is counting on that belief. How naive.

If I can speak for Mssr. Linkins, you're missing the point.

Paul Krugman is worried that if Obama is the nominee, there will be a backlash against his supporters for being cultlike.

Last week, Paul Krugman himself advanced the idea that Obama's supporters are cultlike. see?

It's like if I were to say "I'm not the first person to say this, but Hillary Clinton killed Vince Foster", and then a week later, say "I fear that if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, she may be hobbled by the false belief that she killed Vince Foster."

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:47 AM on 02/19/2008

krugman is right. and by mentioning vince foster your post plunges into an abysss of emptyness, like obama.

Dems are gullible, which is why Clinton is the only Dem since the 1940s to win two terms. Dems just dont get it. President MCCain will be a great payback for the party of morons. LOL.

Professor says if experience counts, Hillary should vote for McCain

Bruce Tomaso E-mail News tips

David Davenport is a former president of Pepperdine University, where he still teaches public policy, and a research fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

He's bemused by Hillary Clinton's argument that she deserves the Democratic presidential nomination because she's so much more experienced than Barack Obama.

"Hillary Clinton says experience counts, but what is her experience, really?" he says in this short audio commentary for Townhall.com.

"Eight years in the U.S. Senate (compared to four for Obama and 22 for McCain) and eight years as the first lady.

"I asked my wife, who was close by when I served as a university president for 15 years, whether she felt prepared now to run a college. She correctly said, 'No.' "

If experience really counts, he concludes, "look for John McCain to be our next president."

The Clinton Campaign Just Now...
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/02/the-clinton-cam.html
February 18, 2008 11:33 AM
In a conference call just now the Clinton campaign would not guarantee that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, has never used someone else's rhetoric without crediting them.

I asked Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson and Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass, if they could assure the public that neither Clinton nor McGovern has ever done what Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, did when he used the rhetoric of Gov. Deval Patrick without footnoting him.
They would not.

In fact, Wolfson seemed to say it wouldn't be as big a deal if it were discovered that Clinton had "lifted" such language.
"Sen. Clinton is not running on the strength of her rhetoric," Wolfson said.
Hmmmm.

yeah- and pepperdine (like dick morris) is fair and accurate reporting on clinton. give me a break. Obamingtonpost.com is alive and well. I cant wait to come on here after McCain wins. I guess the nation will be racist because we didn't pick another loser Democratic candidate. YOu people are in outter space with Obama. Just crunk on kool-aid. What a joke. Well, this is the same country that elected Bush, so I always aim low. Obama is going to lose a lot of Clinton's support. He definitely won't get mine.
