Lindsay Lohan Nude: Starlet Recreates Marilyn Monroe Photospread

In 1962, photographer Bert Stern shot a series of photos of Marilyn Monroe at the Hotel Bel-Air that have collectively come to be known as "The Last Sitting." The photographs are arguably the most famous images ever captured of America's most famous actress. Six weeks after she had posed, Monroe was found dead of an apparent barbiturate overdose.

Lindsay Lohan recreated that photoshoot with NY Magazine, down to the lighting. Her whole photospread with Stern is in the new fashion issue of the weekly, and can be found online here. There is more nudity and may not be safe for work.

My point exactly. More than 50% of the population is female. Most of us females aren't interested in nude females--like me. I find this display offensive unless there will be a photo shoot of a nude, handsome young man up here tomorrow.

Sorry for the buzz kill, but I'm tired of the ignorant attacks on the "haters." There are very valid reasons why some people complain about nude girlies. I wish more people understood why (many) girls posed nude. There are always exceptions. Some girls are healthy, confident, and find male attention very sexy. But the unfortunate majority of girls who overtly use their sexuality for attention and validation are acting out very sad emotional problems. Most were sexually abused as children (often by fathers or other trusted male role models). They are trying to recreate that internal shame as well as desperately trying to make up for the despair by clinging to any male attention they can get. These girls are often in extraordinary pain. They exploit themselves as a way to punish themselves for the shame they carry from childhood. They put on the seductive smile for the camera, and go home and pop a bottle of pills or half a dozen drinks so they can't feel how much they hate themselves.

I don't condemn the girls or those who enjoy them. I just want to defend those who complain about the exploitation of female sexuality. This is a genuinely painful topic for many women, and goes FAR beyond jealousy or prudishness.

Many people don't know that Marilyn was sexually abused as a child. She spent the rest of her life allowing herself to be treated as a sex object. She was desperate for love and found out early on that male attention gave her a "fix." Considering the heavy drug use, I would guess she secretly hated herself, as well as every man who made her feel like a doll. Untimately, she died alone and heartbroken.

These pictures are the most unsexy I have ever seen. Marilyn Monroe in front of a camera evoked a mixture of naivity, purity, humor and sex. Lindsey's pictures show a girl who is very uncomfortable and who does not want to be there. She definitely is not communicating to her audience. She looks kind of pissed off. I guess that is her interpretation of the iconic sex goddess.

The image (doctored or not) doesn't look saggy to me at all. How old are you? My guess is that "she" passes the pencil test (can your boobs hold up a pencil); I got no problem there and I admit post 40 they aren't quite as perky as they were.

You have to have more than make-up and a great rack to do Marilyn, or you'll just look like you're posing... badly... it was an interesting exercise though... for us all. No matter how good someone recreates the Mona Lisa, the original will always be the best.

Actually, the thing that all photographers said about Mariyln Monroe was that she had an almost intimate relationship with the camera, that she could seduce the camera. Part of that, often said, came from a soft layer of peach fuzz that covered her body, little tiny hairs that softened her look.

I personally think Marilyn Monroe at her worst looked better than these photos do.
