Bob Geldof in Rwanda gives Bush his props
KIGALI, Rwanda — Bob Geldof has parachuted into the White House travel pool here in Rwanda, and will join us on the flight from Air Force One to Ghana tonight.
He's going to interview President Bush for Time magazine and several European outlets, such as Liberacion, about aid to Africa for HIV/AIDS, malaria, and business development.
Mr. Geldof is an Irish rock and roll singer and longtime social activist who has helped, along with U2 rocker Bono, raise awareness about need in Africa. His most well known achievement is organizing the Live Aid concert in 1985, which raised money for debt relief for poor African countries.
But Mr. Geldof has remained closely engaged with African affairs since then, and he spoke off the cuff to reporters today who were waiting for a press conference with Mr. Bush and Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
Mr. Geldof praised Mr. Bush for his work in delivering billions to fight disease and poverty in Africa, and blasted the U.S. press for ignoring the achievement.
Mr. Bush, said Mr. Geldof, "has done more than any other president so far."
"This is the triumph of American policy really," he said. "It was probably unexpected of the man. It was expected of the nation, but not of the man, but both rose to the occasion."
"What's in it for [Mr. Bush]? Absolutely nothing," Mr. Geldof said.
Mr. Geldof said that the president has failed "to articulate this to Americans" but said he is also "pissed off" at the press for their failure to report on this good news story.
"You guys didn't pay attention," Geldof said to a group of reporters from all the major newspapers.
Bush administration officials, incidentally, have also been quite displeased with some of the press coverage on this trip that they have viewed as overly negative and ignoring their achievements.

Hey George why don't you stay for a while. Maybe you'll find that people of color really are not that bad and then when you do return you can take another look at New Orleans and give the people what was so lacking before.
Just a reminder. We attempted to hire local people at PREVAILING WAGE (big money)for the clean up, and skilled labor. We finally, after convincing the Feds that the place would rot before you got one of those bums to work, we hired workers from Central America. The tragedy isn't Katrina, it's the welfare, entitlement, mentality of a city fraught with lazy bums. I suggest you look to "Mayor Ray" if you're looking for a scape goat. I was there, you weren't, now shut liberal egg sucker. By the way, almost in entirety, Africans despise American blacks. Wonder why?

Ho Hum !!! Too bad his admin..ranks so poorly in the USA where it counts and where bu$it has done the most damage...You your children will be paying of the Trillions of borrowed money for the Bush SIDESHOW which has gone on wayyyyy tooo long !!!!
Was there no one who was willing to eat him while he was there?
We can only hope he stays there - permanetly - he can set up a "ranch" and raise Zebras.
first, I have to say I appreciate Bush setting aside money for Africa. Granted, that money would only last the U.S. five days in its joke of a "war on terror", but people in Africa need it nonetheless.
now that niceties are out of the way...
I think Bush has an African fetish. it's not like bill clinton and his black love. *thinking back to bill's 'jesse jackson' comment* um, scratch the bill statement. Bush has a black thing nonetheless, but it's much more an 'undercover brother' type of fetish.
I find it utterly amusing that none of the kids in the first picture seem happy to see george. They almost seem pissed, like, "who the f- decided to make us stand here for this dumbass?" priceless.

Analyst: On Africa Visit, Bush Pushes Agenda of Continent-Wide U.S. Military Expansion
..........Many anticipate that the President’s visit is an opportunity to shore up support among African allies for America’s strategic and economic interests, including expansion of the U.S. military command in Africa, AFRICOM...........

Back when this idiot stole the election, the first thing he did was to cut off $150 million in aid to Africa, for family planning, now the bastard will not go near those that have contracted AIDs or shake hands with those that have it from lack of funds. He must be made to look at all those now suffering since 2001, and hold them, look them in their eyes, and say hes sorry.
As you can see by the picture of Bush talking to the children he has plans for the next surge. Run like hell kids.
Hey George, I hope you find the house you're looking for.

So...Bush finally found Africa on a map.
=============
Not really, they took him there, he still can not find Africa on any map!

Not really, they took him there, he still can not find Africa on any map!"
Outstanding!
I get really tired of seeing Bush all down in someone's face when he shakes hands, like in the one where he meets his "counterpart." He does this a lot, and I think it's downright insulting. The man just proves he has about as much class as he has brains.
Well, it's nice enough of Bush to put the cost of his vacation on the taxpayer once again. Here are my first thoughts on each photo:
"... who let the dogs out!" 5 points if you get the Mittens reference.
Angry Bush; "Nobody got the memo about Presidential stature?"
Bush's official African friend.
"After this, we are going to tour New Orleans old school -- right?"
"Line? Baby needs line.... where is my motivation here?"
Massai warriors are disappointed that their Lunch is leaving with the Secret Service.
"Yes. Me speaky Engrish,... he, he,.. you are so dumb you don't even know what I'm a speaking -- aw so!"
"This time, I'm reading the book right-side-up. And people misunderestimate me and think that I don't learn from my mistakes."
"No WMDs, over here,... hey lady, what could you be hiding under that dress? Heh, heh."
"Well, I may not have done anything to save Darfur, but dang, I at least,... um. Hey, watch me board this plane all Presidential like!"
"Have you young boys thought about how your country is ready for free trade and the efficiencies of running a trade deficit with offshore banks -- I know I have....
... what do you mean these aren't young boys Shorty?"
