Lindsay's Mom: Nude Marilyn Shoot Was Tasteful Art

Lindsay Lohan's mom Dina has spoken out on the new photospread her daughter did for the new issue of New York Magazine. Dina told People that it's fantastic and that her daughter has always been a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, whose last nude photoshoot was recreated by Bert Stern with Lindsay.

"It was very tastefully done," Dina tells PEOPLE of the photos... "I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don't look at them like it's Playboy; she was being a character. So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."

And Dina adds that had the photos been inappropriate, Lindsay's sister Ali would not have visited the set. "Trust me," Dina tells PEOPLE, "I wouldn't have sent my 14-year-old to the set [if the shoot was in bad taste]. And obviously Lindsay wouldn't do anything with her sister there, that was risqué."

Dina also revealed how Lindsay got ready for the shoot. "Lindsay did 250 crunches before because she was nervous since she had never done anything like that before," Dina said.

nude or otherwise, can't these people do anything NEW? remake this, remix that, re-release, be an image of something real that went before, lives mediated by the screen (big and small), the virtual more real than the real...AAAGH!

From People..."Lindsay was very excited when she first got the phone call," says Dina, 45. "Of course we talked about how they would be done. Lindsay said, 'Mommy, I'm never going to get this opportunity to do it again.' She was very thankful she was asked."

Maybe it's just me, but is it wierd that a 21 year old calls her mother, mommy? I'm just asking because I've never heard any of my friends refer to their parents as mommy or daddy...unless they are 2!

For Lindsey lohan, getting naked in a studio wih props is a step up. The Pics, wouldn't call them tasteful. She does have some assets though. But the freckles have got to airbrushed.

It's so pathetic about how this country admires a talent less, drug inducing, sex queen as an icon! Lindsey Lohan is also worth nothing. Why do people in this country look up to these barrels of trash? It is even really pathetic how the most untalented are the most popular!

It’s pretty bad when movie goers pay money and attention to movies like, “Meet the Spartans” and “Jumper”, but not well acted, well written, great screen play, a good musical score and a great plot type movies like, “There will be blood”.

People who read those “People, US and OK!” magazines are also very pathetic.

This country has become way to superficial (sheep).

Don't forget the Marilyn photos were the last taken before her untimely death. Ms Lohan already looks corpse-like in these photos...she appears dead behind her eyes. Would anyone be surprised if we hear news of her death from an overdose in the next few months? Not too be morbid or anything, but....

Yup, LL looks old before her time. She can never be even a pin top's worth as sexy and beautiful as Marilyn Monroe was! When it comes to Marilyn Monroe, beware of cheap imitations, there will never be the REAL THING again. Lindsey is sad and pathetic and has really NOHING going for her. She can't act, so this is her way of trying to get attention, as America has lost interest in her BIG TIME.
