I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Stone

As is his wont, the little watched and seldom heeded Tucker Carlson continued to pursue his "hurt America" agenda last night on MSNBC, when he once again invited the so-called wisdom of "legendary Republican strategist" Roger Stone. The topic: how would Republicans take the attack to the Democratic nominee?

There wasn't anything particularly groundbreaking to Stone's analysis: whoever the nominee would be would end up being painted as a liberal, George McGovern would be invoked, and of course, the wild insinuation that voting Democrat is a de facto death sentence for the nation at the hands of jihadists would be made. Along the way, Stone got to call Hillary Clinton a "hack" who "believes in virtually nothing," and, with regards to Obama, Stone got to raise the specter of "assassination." Real authoritative, responsible stuff!

Nevertheless, the stunning disingenuousness of the conversation was enough to inspire a fountain of gorge. How will Republicans attack the candidates? Well, in the specific instance of Roger Stone, the answer is: start a juvenile, anti-Hillary 527 organization themed around a vulgar term for female genitalia (cf. Jane Fonda). That any credible news organization can continue to give wide audience to Stone's wisdom without disclosing his involvement in the campaign season's most brazen obscenity is beyond reason.

Ironically, the one employee at MSNBC who's evinced a willingness to challenge Stone on this regard is David Shuster. The cable news network was without his services last night.

I have just sent $1000 to Osama bin Laden to start a fund to put a hit out on Roger Stone.

If Bin Laden goes after Stone it's Bin Laden who will end up dead.

I don't like Hillary -- because of what she has supportede in the past and what I believe she will continue to support. Her vote in favor of war was nnot a mistake. She intended it, but it was an error of ... judgment perhaps, or perhaps it was an error of character. But she is not anti-war. She will not be a peacemaker. There are other substantive reaszonns for my dislike of her.

BUT none of that her anything to do with her gender!

An attack group calling itself "C.U.N.T." is not something to be glorified. It seems to me that they are sexist and are trying to debase something very beautiful. I wish they would either grow up or shut up!

I couldn't have said it better.

Sometimes a man is good for something!!

And it is nice to know that some men are intelligent and appreciative of women.

This group is not sexist per se. However this group is typical of every Republican alive. Traitorous, lying, inhuman, pedophilic, murdering, thieving, incestuous, grave-robbing.... I think that you get the point.

I think the reason they do the occasional nasty inflammatory jibes at Clinton is to make it look as thou they are anti Clinton - to make it look as though she is being beaten up. All shenanigan's if you ask me. They do this to create more news and blogs to sway people to think, "poor hillary, look what she has to put up with". When in fact, if you pay close, I mean close attention...the show is attempting to push Clinton towards victory! I DVR it and watch extremely closly, rewinding and analyzing segments...the overwhelming majority of air time is all a push for Clinton.

By the way CNN does the same crap too. Here's just one example...

During the Nevada caucus's, CNN focused in and held their camera frame on a group of fairly young, very dark african americans who were all excited and jazzed up, (almost to the point of frenzy) supporting obama. They kept going back to that segment all day long, over and over again. When they quickly panned out for a few seconds, you could see all kinds of middle aged, young and old, whites and hispanics jazzed up supporting Obama as well. They brought their camera over to Clinton supporters, targeting a calm yet happy group, with a strange sense of "the civilized people", and of mixed ethnicity. It felt like it was a tactic to get the attention of prejudice people of the south and elsewhere. It just gave me an odd sensation...I thought it was obvious, everyone I talked to didnt notice. It's all so subtle!

It's subtle ways the corporate media has swayed mass public opinon in the past and attempt to today.

Again, Pay attn to the small stuff that seems to be nothing, it subtly does.

Tucker has a somewhat powerful father. There can be no other reason I can find for his position on MSNBC. Two years ago Tucker applauded a father for having "punched out" a teacher in front of his class for having molested his teenage daughter. When I saw the broadcast it looked fishy and the father looked like a derilect. Tucker even commented that "this is what's wrong with America. This do nothing school board has not even fired him yet. He's just lucky I wasn't there, I'd have punched him too" (or words to that effect) - I have the transcripts. I followed this in Florida and saw the police were "investigating." A week later the school board appologized to the teacher, the police gave him their complete support and the girl and her friend admitted to have made up the whole thing. Turns out this teacher had given them detention for pouring soda pop onto the head of another student girl. SO I wrote the Tucker and MSNBC and pointed out that I had not seen a retraction. The producer said "the teacher was welcome to come on the show and tell his side of it." I said - "his side of it! He has no side. Tucker smeared this guy in front of millions and you know the teacher can not openly identify or criticize a minor student." They (Tucker) would not budge and never oppologized. This is the Tucker that is reporting the news to MSNBC's audience.

Whats this?

Yesterdays Chris Matthews, in the lead up to stories, was talking about Obama and had a 3-4 second graphic of Osama in the right corner associating the two. There was no "that was an accident" on the repeat show, and no appology today.

Matthews agrees with the plagiarism claim. He has agreed to a lot of the negative spin about Obama. ie; one of his latest supporters "could not tell us anything Obama has accomplished". Says Chris, on last friday's show. That stuff is constant on his show.

They constantly showed guests talking about cocaine, and Matthews made cocaine comments on his show numerous times, for days.

They always show 7-30 second clips of Hillary speaking at her best, and the few times they show clips of Obama, they last 3-5 seconds and they are of carefully selected short snippets of him not looking his best. Oh yea, they have showed eating, a few times, never has seen Clinton with food in her mouth on any cable "news" show.

As a woman I am particularly offended that we as human beings have to tolerate such a blatantly offensive misogynistic and dehumanizing group on our airwaves.

What kind of judgment has MSNBC exercised in inviting such an utterly disgusting and hateful individual on their station.

It's OK to dehumanize women, but would MSNBC have been so insensitive to invite a representative from a group with the letters, N.I.G.***? I KNOW they wouldn't.

I am utterly outraged by the recognition of this insulting and degrading group by MSNBC.

You're outraged. If I could afford the gas I'd drive to his house and literally beat him to death in front of anyone dumb enough to be in his filthy presence. You think that's over the top?

Well this guys is bitter sad relic. "Barack is going to sit down with terrorist." I'll trade that bit of horse shit against what this country has had to endure under the low lifes, like this stone fellow, that have led the policy and public discourse over the last eight years. This jerk off doesn't have a leg to stand on and neither does McLoco.

The problem with the same networks that provide hacks like this a platform is that they're the same ones who have constructed the story line (to make themselves feel better about being journalist again-- after 6 years of rolling over) that "wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a part in helping to elect the first woman or African-American president". The same pundits who decided that first, Hillary was a shoe-in, and then decided (for drama's sake) no, wait let's give the black guy a chance to make it exciting (while ignoring any and all other Democratic candidates-- particularly those with substance) will, come September and October give whatever blowhard swift-boating conservative with an axe to grind an equal say (whether what they have to offer to the campaign is relevant or not).

And that's exactly what the Republicans are banking on. They're waiting for either one of the two Democratic candidates, who have some electability issues (for race and gender as well as reputation problems--whether Hillary's are deserved or not) that WILL siphon off some ill-gotten votes for McCain, to add their standard Republican dirty trick machinery to swift-boat either of them for a few percentage points more. This only works because the likes of MSNBC and CNN gives the likes of Roger Stone the time of day.

If to give Obama undue attention because it makes them feel good now, don't turn around and give Roger Stone and his ilk undue attention 8 months from now because it makes for "good drama" (ie. strong ratings). Don't make up a story line of HOPE now and shit on it by allowing swift boating antics come October.

Dear God!
This is really beyond the pale.

I'm speechless.
I have tried to lodge complaints at MSNBC. They make it very difficult to find a place to comment. When you finally do find it they tell you they can't get to read all emails but they do appreciate our loyalty or some junk.

I would really like to see a campaign about this and about Matthews completely obvious pro Obama/ anti Hillary bias. I'm really shocked that no one has mentioned Matthews "stumble" last night where he blurted out that he was afraid of Hillary winning the delegates in some place or other... it flew from my mind when my jaw hit the floor.
"That's what I'm afraid of?" Isn't that an O'Reilly comment?
Tucker is just a putz, a silver spoon beneficiary of his job twerp.

Schuster. I have mostly really liked Schuster though I noticed a harder and harder anti Clinton edge in the last few weeks he was on. What he said was over the top and a suspension may or may not have been appropriate. Still, enough already, bring him back. I think he is just about the best they have at this point.
Even Olbermann is getting too biased.
I'm fine with the snark of his and love it when it's turned on the Republicans but if you are going to hit the Dem's do it equally without so explicitly going after one and completely excluding the other.
It gets old. I was so gung Ho Obama till the unending hatred towards Hillary Clinton and all things Clinton... not to mention the subversive attacks that you can't really call it attack.

Anyway.
Bring Back Schuster.

Anyone know how to get in touch with MSNBC and actually talk to someone?

Dear Accountability--when you start your campaign against MSNBC, please include me. I have become so disgusted with their crowning of the "second coming" candidate and their lack of respect for Senator Clinton, I no longer watch them. Still, a lot of people do and they're unfortunately getting twisted, distorted and biased reporting. And they have the audacity to make fun of FOX (who deserves it). Please. Try emailing Dan Abrams; he's the only "talking head" on MSNBC who tries to be "fair and balanced".

He is never invited on the panels to discuss election results - there is a reason why.

MSNBC is as 'fair & balanced' as Fox News is, which is to say not at all. All their correspondents are in bed with the Axlerod - I mean, Obama - campaign and have totally thrown Hillary to the curb, like she's not even worth their time. They truly are a bunch of santimonious pricks. Where are some women's voices on that station; oh, that's right: they're being pimped out. I'd totally support a boycott of MSNBC's sponsors, the SOBs.

The MSNBC/FAUX NEWS GUYS GOTTA GO.

I am the most staunch Hillary opponent but there isn't a place for this type of dialog.

This is an embarrassment.

Hillary has earned a reputation as a liar and a manipulative calculating politician.

She deserves to be called on her character flaws...

she does not deserve to be humilated because of her race?
